Well, it’s an old hotel that needs updating. Smells kind of musty and needs a new ventilation system. Nice enough staff, and did a better than most job of cleaning. However, you pay for the location and they are actually on the cheaper side you will find downtown.

I stayed here simply because it was rated very good. I will note that this is one of the cleanest hotels I ever stayed in. There is even a policy on the wall in your room that notes that the room MUST be cleaned daily which I loved. With this being said, on the day I checked out I decided to go out for breakfast. When I came back at 9 am(checkout time was 11) there was a maid in my room. I did not request her, nor did I check out. When I walked into my room and saw her there she noted that she would be done in no time. This wouldn’t have been a problem but I was still in the process of packing up my things to go and I will say it is pretty hard when you have the maid cleaning out the fridge with your items in it you were planing on taking home being thrown in the trash. This must come with the territory of being a clean hotel. Moving on… the rooms are a good size. You get a balcony. If you smoke I noticed you have to stay at the non lake view rooms downstairs or smoke off to the side of the building for the balcony upstairs is made of wood. I do not smoke so this was not a problem. Just a heads up if you are traveling and you see this being a concern. If you are brining computers, phones, iPads, please do not expect to have them charging when you leave the room. Two times during the week I stayed I had the maid unplug my devices I let charge. I wouldn’t normally mind, but in my profession I do need to see emails and get communication. I am guessing they do this to conserve electricity. The parking was the only thing that killed me… but we are in a mountain town. If you are late to check in all of the parking by the rooms is taken and then you must park in the lower lot. This is not a problem during the week, only during loading and unloading times or if you have bad knees. The location is great. You are in the middle of town for a fraction of the cost. This being said, the windows of your room face the busy street so expect some noise(there is also a night club across the street). The Inn also has an old hallway that you walk down to get to your room on the second floor so expect some noise throughout the night. If this is a honeymoon and your in the mood for love, or if you have kids, this is not the hotel for you since you can hear everything with the creaky floors upstairs and paper thin walls. If you have kids I would try to stay at the non lake view rooms downstairs or if you are planning to celebrate your love for someone I would stay downstairs also. The man at the front desk(younger) could have had some personality. When I checked out he didn’t even make eye contact and mentioned to «leave the keys on the counter». He didn’t even thank me for staying or welcome me back at a future time.
