I’ve really tried to hold off writing this but I can’t help but to vent. We have bee dealing with this place since 2012, when we purchased of our house. The activation/deactivation service was ok but you had to deal with an unprofessional clerk by phone to get it set up. She act as if you are bothering her when you call their place of business. Recently I’ve called to set up an activation date and was told to wait for a call from the tech on the day before to get a clear appointment time. I had to call them instead to see when he would arrive. Strike one. They arrived the next day but could not activate the system due to a crack in the line. This is what they told me and proceeded to leave. So I’m asking them what are they going to do, the guy shrugs his shoulders and say that management would contact me. I had to call them 3 days later to get an answer… Strike 2. After calling to find out what is the status on my system, I am told once again that the management would contact me. It’s been 3 days later, Strike 3. Good service and good business is hard to find these days and businesses like this make it worse because they treat like they are the only business in town. I believe that word of mouth can make or break a business and based on my experience with this company, I’m surprised that they are still in business with the bad reviews that I have read about them over the years. To the company: If you don’t want to provide quality service to your customers, then take your phone number off of the business so that no one can contact you to experience the treatment that you all provide. Now I have to request that another company come repair your product. If your company ever contact me again from this point on with a better service experience then I will change my review but until then, I can only go by what I have experienced thus far. Dissatisfied customer.

Add me to the list of unimpressed Trost customers. Our builder used them for our new build home. Horrible customer service. Rude on the phone. The«technicians» they send out act like they have never worked on a sprinkler system before. They cut corners wherever they good when the put in the system, which left us with a very inefficient system.

UPDATE! The owner of Trost messaged me about a month back, stating that he was going to look into this and SURPRISE — hasn’t gotten back to me. Looks like the lousy customer service goes all the way up the ladder. It’s sad… I finally thought I’d be able to replace a bad review with a positive one.

This company installed my sprinkler system through our home builder. They claimed to offer 90 days warranty, but less than 50 days afterward, the system froze and broke. They refused to take responsibility claiming that it was my responsibility to ask them to winterize the system sooner(they said I should’ve winterized in October, which really meant the same month or even the same day as the start of their warranty). While it might be true that the system broke because we didn’t winterize it the same month we had it(in October), it is also true that the system could have broke because of their bad installation, or bad winterization that Trost messed up(even though they charged me for it way more than what their competitors charge) Most respectable companies offer to do the first winterization for free just because they care to make sure that the system is functional at least during the warranty period. But not Trost. They simply DONOTCARE.
