Best Chinese food I have had since moving to this state. I had the vegetable lo mien, generals Taos chicken, egg drop soup, and a taste of some won ton soup. I have been disappointed by every other Chinese restaurant in the area and I am glad I tried this one.

I ordered the boneless almond chicken. It was just average at best. The staff is really nice though.

Huge things in small packages here! Outstanding food, and great, friendly staff! I had 5he Mongolian Beef, the wife had Sweet and Sour Chicken. Both dishes were top notch! Fresh, all white meat chicken, and perfectly seasoned beef. Thank you!

Ordered 3 dishes for carryout. I like celery and zucchini as much as the next guy but c’mon. Awful, awful and awful. Save your money…

I clearly ordered chicken fried rice and they even repeated the order back to me saying chicken fried rice. Thus, when I picked up my food I expected chicken fried rice but instead got shrimp fried rice(which I am allergic to). This is a big mistake for such a simple order especially when your not busy making other orders(which was true for this case since no one was in the restaurant and the chef was just standing around in the back). They even charged me for shrimp fried rice and almost didn’t give my money back. I had to argue with them. I even offered to just add a little more chicken fries rice to my order to make up for it but that wasn’t an option. I was very let down based on the rating this place has. I don’t recommend it and will not be coming back

Very good fresh food here. It is a very nice family run business. Well worth the visit and 100% better than the other Chinese restaurant that is just up the road.

When ordering Chinese this is the place to go. Our only disappointment so far is when we realize that’s it’s Monday and we have a taste for Chinese food.(Mondays they are closed) Food is always hot. I mean hot like steaming piping hot that it will burn your mouth if you don’t let it cool a few minutes. I love their vegetable lo mein more than any other I have ever tasted. The kids love the chicken fried rice. And for $ 1 you can add extra chicken to your chicken fried rice! Nice. Hubby loves general Taos, beef with broccoli and pepper steak. You really can’t go wrong. Their food always come looking and tasting fresh and hot. My only wish would be for them to carry an all veggie spring roll or egg roll. Other than that, skip the other joints in town and go to Alex’s.

Alex’s is the best, most authentic Chinese food locally! Everything tastes fresh and is always hot when picked up. One complaint is that it can be kind of pricy but that’s mainly because every time we order, we order too much food because it’s so good! Try the marinated beef skewers, they are so flavorful!

Love this place! We try to go at least once a week after work for take-out. We have yet to be disappointed. I have always gotten the sesame chicken(with white rice) and my other half gets the chicken fried rice. No complaints! The family that works here is super nice too! Generous portions!

The verdict is in. Last night we ordered carry out from Alex Chinese food and I am super happy to report that it will be a go to destination for us again for Chinese food. It was hot, fresh and delicious. I can’t wait to try their other items. The lady that took our order was very sweet and offered to carry our food to our car. That’s what’s missing a lot these days is that personal customer service and the appreciation of the customer. I really enjoyed the almond chicken as well as the vegetable fried rice.

We love Alex for our carry out Chinese. I usually order the Gai Kow or Chicken Chop Suey meal… both are generous portions of veggies and meat. I can either share it or have a second meal from it. I have also had their Tsaos Chicken and Chicken Low Mein. Out of all the times we have ordered from them we were only disappointed once when the chicken in the Tsaos was tough, however we chalked it up to a bad night and have not had a bad meal since.

Since I continue to enjoy great carry-out from Alex C&G a couple times a month I felt like it deserves some defense from the 1 bad review on 9÷30÷12. And no, I have no affiliation or stake in this restaurant… just a satisfied customer. First, their soups are listed on the menu(see it yourself online) as small and large, NOT pint and quart. Their non-combo dishes are sold pint/quart, but not the soup. So please don’t complain and call it a rip-off because you misinterpreted the menu. Second, I personally prefer buying the lunch or dinner combos since they offer plenty to fill up a single person at a very reasonable price. I’ve always found good portions of chicken/beef in the dishes I’ve ordered, but perhaps the reviewer didn’t get the normal portion. At least give them a shot. I wouldn’t be scared off by one bad review. By the way, hot mustard is available when you pick up your carry-out, but it’s the iffy pre-packaged stuff. I agree they should just put it in the bag.

Can you say rip off? Based on a friend’s recommendation, we tried Alex Chinese & Grill out a couple of days ago — take out only. Let’s break down the order: 1 Quart of Won Ton Soup $ 3.45. Okay. Fine. Soup was decent. Except that it wasn’t a quart. When I got the container it looked small. And I have ordered enough won ton soup in the past from other places to know what a quart looks like. Four cups to a quart. That’s simple math. This restaurant’s quart — 3 cups. Yep. Rip off. I measured it myself, and then I checked the size of the Dart foam container they use(24MJ48). A 24 ounce container. As if that wasn’t enough to irk me, I had to buy fried«soup won tons» separately for $ 1. Fine. All the other Chinese restaurants I’ve eaten at give me a big paper bag full — for free. We used to go to one restaurant that would bring us a huge tray of them with dipping sauces while we waited for our order. Not Alex. He wants to charge me for these. And you know how much you get? Oh, a bag about the size of an egg roll. Clearly not enough for the four cups of soup… of course, there aren’t four cups, are there? 2. My dinner, the #16 General Tao dinner combo. $ 7.55. Fried rice… eh. Chicken — good. Both items, plenty of food. Egg roll — not sure what that other reviewer was excited about. It was tough and not that great. No hot mustard either. 3. Husband’s dinner, a Quart(ha ha) of Beef WITH Broccoli $ 11.85. This was a complete misnomer. It was Broccoli with about an ounce of beef. Lots of broccoli, but when you’re paying almost $ 12 for it, there had better be some meat in it. So, the next time you crave Chinese take out — go elsewhere. Anywhere else.

Far and away, the best Chinese take out in our vicinity. The food is always very fresh, very hot and perfectly cooked. He is a great Chinese chef. Chicken and green beans are my favorite. The General Tso’s is great! The rice is perfect. Very consistent every time.

I’ve got to say first that Alex is my favorite Chinese restaurant for carry-out in the area. I’m really not sure what the whole, «& Grill» thing is about, but that’s okay :) I usually get the Sweet & Sour Shrimp. I can’t find it on the menu, but I order it anyway. It’s pretty plain, but doesn’t disappoint me. It’s just the shrimp, sauce and rice, but it’s yummy. The missing star is because we tried to eat in one day, and it was a huge failure. We got there and were at a table. Another table arrived, got their food, and finished before we got our food! Our order ended up having to be carry-out, as we had other things to do and just couldn’t wait any longer. Alex Chinese & Grill will remain my favorite carry-out for Chinese, though :)

I love this place! For the cost you can’t beat it and the owners are good souls! The food is always tasty, generous portions, and it taste great. We get the family meals and they are patient with us and allow us to substitute depending on the moodiness of my children. When I pick up the normally very large order, they take a moment to carry it out to the car for me– great great service! Edit: We don’t go here anymore. Last time we ate in and ordered szechuan shrimp– delicous usually– best I ever had. Watched the cook get the shrimp, drop it on the floor, scoop it up, and throw it on the grill. I know, this probably happens everywhere– but seeing it happen and then being served it was a deal breaker. We declined to eat it explaining what we saw, and they did redo it without questioning. Saw him slop the shrimp on the floor the second time and angrily throw that out. He got it from the fridge to the grill without dropping it on the third try. Dropped from a 5 to a 1 star rating as a result. Seriously dude, that is just gross.
