Planet Fitness – Lake Mary

I really enjoy working out at the lake Mary planet fitness. I just moved to the area and so far the staff seems really nice. I’ve gone at rush hour times but still, I was able to find the machines I needed with no wait. So far so good!

Love it here. Open 24h on weekdays, no time restriction, different kinds of machines and one of the best price in LM. I pay $ 21 per month which allow to access any PF, can bring a friend anytime I want and I have access to the massage chairs and tanning anytime. Plus my insurance pay me back $ 20 per month.

I’m sure that my review will echo many others but this gym is a prime example of you getting what you pay for. At just $ 10 a month you probably shouldn’t expect a ton, but it’s important to note that while the free weights are good and well maintained, much of the cardio equipment is in disrepair and needs an upgrade. This doesn’t mean it’s unusable, but when you’re riding the recumbent bikes it feels like you’ve been transported back to 2002.
The staff is friendly and the «lunk alarm» is not sounded often (side note to those who whine about this: it’s not crossfit, it’s planet fitness… They market to beginners and older people and tell you the deal up front. Don’t job then complain about something you were warned of) so it’s definitely doable.
If you’re looking for a laid back gym that’s almost always pretty empty for nothing a month then this is the place for you.

If you are serious about lifting weights this is not the gym for you at all… not even a little bit. I’m a girl and I consider myself pretty serious about it and I just started. What I mean is if you happen to drop the weight cause its um… heavy…GOD FORBID… you get in trouble. It’s crazy… who came up with this philosophy. It’s a gym… you are there to lose weight and add muscle. You grow muscle by tearing your muscles… you tear them by lifting heavy. I’m not saying you need to throw the weights down on purpose… that would be rude in any gym with others concentrating on their workout. But good grief use some common sense in applying such a ridiculous rule. They only get away with their crazy rules because they are so cheap and around here are the only gym that stays open all night. With that said ill talk about the other side of the gym which has cardio and an ab room. These are great. Love all the cardio machines and the ab room is nice as well. So I’m split on this gym. Love the hours, the cardio machines, the ab room and the tanning that’s mixed in with a black card membership for cheap. But it’s just frustrating when it comes to the free weights.

I agree with others. I was tempted to go elsewhere but I jad heard rumors of a remodel so I stuck it out and boy am I glad I did. I had transfered to this location from another in oveido. Loved that one too. The new remodel gives plenty of space the weight machines r now laid out in a way that makes sense. I havent done the 30 min area yet. But the set up looks awesome there too. When I do get a chance to go. I enjoy going…:)

A year ago I would have given this rating much lower. In their old location the tvs were small and the treadmills and other cardio machines were very limited. If you came for a workout between 5−7pm you would be waiting for a machine.
The good news is that they moved to a much LARGER location within the same complex. I love the new treadmills (that aren’t broken like the old ones), and it is a HUGE plus that each treadmill has an individual TV.
I don’t mind going to the gym now because I know that I can get my workout in for sure.
The staff is ok, depending on the day you go. They are all nice, with the exception of a few that would prefer to socialize amongst themselves then answer a question.

The new Planet Fitness in Lake Mary gets a definite thumbs up from me. Each cardio station gets their own TV with cable, the lighting is much better and I can get on my favorite Cybex machine without too much effort. Each station (weights, cardio and abs) are all larger, there are more tanning beds and a new 30 minute express area has been created. Is it perfect for everyone? No, but I would rather go here than any of the other local options. Oh yes, its $ 10 a month with no contracts but with my happiness, I won’t need one to keep coming back.

This place is full of lies they say no annual fee only $ 10 a month well don’t be fooled they will charge you with a fee every year and not tell you about it till you see it on your bank statement then when you call in they will have regular staff members tell you that they are a manager when really they are as low on the poll as anyone else don’t waste your time paying for this dump Jonathan Kenny and Kevin are a group of liars… O and did I mention this place is a dump!!!

Can’t say it’s a perfect gym, because I suppose the perfect gym would have classes, but for the price, WOW! Ten bucks a month is acceptable — no, FABULOUS — in my book.
I have way overpaid at other gyms I have belonged to. For ten dollars a month, even the poorest college kid can tighten his muscles affordably.
About a dozen T.V.s align to provide something for everyone, there is a decent selection of machines, free weights, and other equipment to bust your butt on, and a few tanning beds (which I personally never use, given I enjoy my pale pallor).
Personal training is an option, as is a Black Card membership ($ 20/​mo.), which gives you some pretty good perks. There are enough cardio machines to be able to jump on any time, even the busiest hours.
I like this gym. =)
