The Lodge On Lake Lure

OMG! OMG! OMG! I think this may be the best meal I’ve ever had. The chorizo rotolo was definitely in the top 3 bites of food I’ve ever had. The shrimp was enormous and the sauce was delicious. The steak was incredible and the potatoes were seasoned and cooked PERFECTLY! The wine was great. The desert was TO DIE FOR (Black Forest cheese cake and some raspberry concoction that was oh so good. The service was spot on. The view of Lake Lure was amazeballs. All this for $ 65 for two (plus drinks, tax and tip). Be aware, this review was written after 2 glasses of wine and having been away from my kids for half a day. Bottom line, this place is far better than anything else you will find in Lake Lure — we’ve been to a lot of the local restaurants and none even come close.

Food was terrific. Fixed price menu offers limited but excellent offering. Great view of the lake. Construction was annoying. No iced tea available! Service was ok. Frankly a little over bearing. Overall a good experience.

Fine dining on Lake Lure (Tree Tops Restaurant at The Lodge)
We were doing our «shotgun wedding» and needed a restaurant. We’d looked at the 1927 Inn which is a fabulous backdrop but after seeing Tree Tops menu online we decided to pay a visit. We were impressed by their dedication to high end dining and local, seasonal fare. With only five days lead time (hey, I told you it was a shotgun wedding) they pulled off a fabulous, multi-​course banquet for twenty guests.
First off the dining room view of the lake is amazing. like a picture postcard. The various courses were beautifully plated. Some guests mentioned the filet mignon was the best they’d ever had. The blueberry crumble desert was also a huge hit. Service was impeccable.
I would highly recommend both restaurant and hotel for a romantic getaway or also a small event (although you may want to plan further in advance than five days!).
We were allowed to see some of the other rooms and they are every bit as beautiful as on their website with balconies overlooking the lake. Again, props to the staff for pulling off a wonderful event for us and can’t recommend them enough.

We visited Lake Lure often in the 7 years before we moved here, and always enjoyed the casual atmosphere of staying in a historic lodge dating from the 1930s. It’s been extensively updated and Giselle and the staff do everything they can to make your stay pleasant. Tell them The Lake Guys say «Hi!»
