One waitress, Sara, is a bright light. The rest of the workers don’t smile and seem– by their body language– to hate their jobs. The women who work at the register act like you are disturbing them when they take your money. m The food is not bad: there are certain dishes that are great like the Sammy salad. They’ve increased their prices as of late too. Overall, if you are in a bind, it isn’t bad just lower your expectations. If you are on a budget be cautious of what you order. Above all, don’t expect friendly staff.

Never knew this place existed until my friend brought me here a couple weeks ago. The service and food were fantastic. I ordered the gyro platter and it was delicious. It was my first time having a gyro and I cannot wait to go back. The prices were phenomenal as well.

Just went to the Spa today to have the Sammy Salad with shrimp as I have in the past. Asked if I could please have a little extra pita in the salad. Waitress said«sure.» When I got the salad there was very little pita bread. I ate half the salad and asked if I could take the rest of it home. I very nicely asked if I could have a little more pita in the salad as I did not get more that I had requested originally. With a dirty look, the waitress said okay. Unfortunately I dont know this waitress’ name — she is short, chunky and very sloppy looking. When I got the bill there was a $ 1.98 charge for the«extra pita bread» that did not amount to much at all. When I asked her about it — she said — you didn’t expect to get it for nothing — did you — in a nasty, obnoxious tone. Even though I have gone there many times when I was working in that area, I am retired now and meet former co-workers in that area from time to time. WILLNEVERGOBACKAGAIN. The grilled corned beef and Swiss and Sammy salad are both to die for. Not to mention their awesome breakfast deal on weekday mornings with a coffee or tea for under $ 4. Definitely worth a try or two in my opinion.

Good service and prices. Some items on their menu are great while others are poo-poo. The sammi salad is awesome. Burgers are pretty good. Breakfast is OK, but the pancakes are mediocre. If you’re looking for good diner pancakes, this is not the place. Also, the onion rings were kinda sad.

Very rude waitress — I will never go back! I tried to be nice to the waitress asking her name and how she was — she said«it doesn’t matter what my name is.» I asked why she would say that and she said I have always been a rude person. I left and could not eat my food I was so upset. I don’t know what I said in the past or did to get this reponse. I don’t know if it was a bad day for her or what. I have never had a person act or treat me so bad! It’s the way she said it that made my skin crawl. I paid for the food I didn’t eat & wished her well anyway. I don’t think anyone needs to eat that bad to go here.

This is a typical Jersey Diner. Good cheap food that comes out in minutes. The breakfast is solid and the chicken sandwich and the Sammy Salad are also a plus. If you are lucky enough to get there on a day they have«Sue’s Cheesecake», count your blessings and get it before it sells out.

Great location, has plenty of parking. Nice wait staff, very friendly, refilled drinks promptly. Food was prepared quickly and was nice and hot upon arrival. Can’t beat the price for most areas in the country! Meal portions are plenty big and the menu is vast, providing many options to patrons. Excellent dining experience with TV and free WiFi. A new favorite of mine that I’ll be stopping in at when I’m in the area.

Super expensive! I went in there to get a breakfast sandwich & turkey sandwich. It cost me $ 16. Maybe rethink the prices of your sandwiches. Taylor ham should be $ 3.50 and turkey sandwich $ 6.00. There is no reason to charge so much for something so common. I was disappointed to say the least!

Been coming here since I was a kid. It’s your typical greasy spoon. Food is average at best. Breakfast is good, burgers are ok sandwiches are alright. Had issues with the attitude of many of the waitresses/waiters over the years.

Went back last week… husbands order was wrong again. We were also in the mood for onion rings so got an order and meh what a disappointment. Such a bummer this spot used to be our jam.

I’ve been coming to The Spa for easily 15 years. The food was so delicious and always gave that hometown feel. In more recent months, the service has been extremely lacking. Waitresses just dump menus and take off. The last we finally got our coffees, no cream. After five mins of trying to chase her down, I had to go up to the counter to ask someone else to give MW cream. The food comes out — gets thrown on the table, and we never see the waitress again. The last three waitresses we have had have all done the same thing. What is going on here? I shouldn’t have to continually go up front to ask for stuff. Today our grumpy waitress said all of three words to us. Dropped food and just sat at the counter with her back to us. Came to take one plate away, and threw the check on the table. My husband asked for ketchup on his Taylor ham sandwich and she looked at him like he had three heads. My kids got hot dogs and they looked like dehydrated shriveled disgusting ten year old hot dogs. How can they serve these to kids?! I’ve brought this up to management the past few times I’ve been in there. Clearly they don’t care for their loyal customers because the waitresses are getting worse and worse. We are going to stop visiting here as going out to eat is not cheap and I would rather go somewhere that cares for their customers.

«The Spa» ain’t no spa. It’s a faux diner in the middle of a small strip mall. I actually love that it’s called«The Spa» for no discernible reason. It is part of the local charm that typifies the town of Lake Hiawatha. The waitresses are standard NJ-diner waitresses, and the clientèle comprises locals only for the most part, given that the diner is not directly located on a highway. The breakfast food is generally good, which is what I’ve most often ordered. I had an issue once where the waitress didn’t bring my toast out with my eggs(a pet peeve of mine), but that’s likely not standard operating procedure. For years, this place didn’t accept credit cards, but they’ve been credit card friendly for a little while now, which is nice. Oh yeah, they sell«Spa» t-shirts too! Check it out and get’r’done!

Revistited again today, loved it per sempre. For a more thourough breakdown and adequate wit, look at the previous review below. In the last review I complained about the pancakes, being a breakfast fan and all. I just wanted to just note that I had the waffles today. Totally worth it. Makes up for the short stack. Stick to eggs and waffles for your breakfast food!
