You expect more from a diner in New Jersey — considering that state is the land where diners reign. Service was slow and unresponsive. The food was passable — the burger was kind of lame and my friends crepes came out under a pile of red goo meant to be strawberries. I wouldn’t return unless I was in dire straits.

Everything I need in a diner– good food, ample portions, fast and friendly service. Compared to lots of diners in this area that are on the sad side, this one does its job!

Too bad. The wait was totally unacceptable for our party who ordered only omelettes and cheeseburgers.

Sometimes I fancy a Jersey diner breakfast. This diner happened to be closest to the hotel, so I tried it one morning. I had the eggs benedict breakfast special. One thing I noticed is the eggs benedict special and a few others are over $ 10, which seems rather high to me but it may simply be part of the higher cost of living in northern New Jersey. Pricing aside, I thought it was a solid dish with a number of extra items(fruit and juice) that I don’t usually see at other diners. Also, service was pretty good.

Hmmm… It’s a diner so expectations weren’t too high walking in and they met my minimal standards. Go with the basics of you have to… BLT was decent, burger was flavorless, fries undercooked. French onion soup was brown salt water with cheese. Go to Whippany Diner… Close by and better.

I’ve dined here several times as it’s right down the street from my grandma. As with most diners, the portions are large. Dinners come with soup or salad and dessert. After my latest experience here on Saturday afternoon, I’m going to recommend getting a salad instead of soup. The Greek salad is huge and has large chunks of fresh feta cheese. My dad had it and I so wish I had ordered it on this visit instead of my go-to, Matzo Ball soup. There was a large group of us with 3 of us ordering the Matzo Ball soup. All 3 of us were sorely disappointed. I’ve had this on a previous visit and it was delicious, so I was really surprised when I bit into my matzo ball this time around. It was BLAND. There was absolutely no seasoning. The other two in my party who ordered it, said the same thing. The actual broth had flavor, but not enough to compensate for bland matzo ball. I love matzo balls, but I just couldn’t bring myself to eat it. I passed it along to my mom to try, and she was shocked. At least my tuna salad sandwich was good. The main courses were all fine. Desserts are huge portions too. I’m a big fan of Jersey diners, but I think I might have to find a new favorite when visiting with grandma or give up on my beloved matzo ball soup.

This place is awful. Went there for breakfast. The eggs were good, but the corned beef was straight out of the can and the hash browns were terrible. With so many better choices in the area I’m very surprised this place is still in business. I will never go back to this disgusting dump.

Always a good choice. Came here last weekend. Haven’t been here in a bit because we’ve been going to their sister location(East Hanover Diner) down the road. The food and service are always spot on. Broiled seafood platter was excellent.

Good local diner, great breakfast foods. It gets very crowded on weekend mornings so you definitely might have a wait but I think it’s worth it. Great French Toast, everything else is also well made and reasonably priced.

Came very early on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We were the first ones in the diner and promptly seated. The waitress was quick and consistently refilling our coffee, which was fantastic. Breakfast food was your standard diner fare. I got the corned beef hash with eggs and home fries and a side of Pork roll(Oh, It’s north Jersey, did I say pork roll? I’m sorry.) All decent. Prices were fair. Didn’t come off to me as anything more than a generic jersey diner, but overall, good.

I love this place and I love the owner John. He is honestly the nicest guy on the planet. When I go I normally get any of the soups. Never been disappointed when I’ve ordered any of them but my favourite is the French onion or the split pea with homemade croutons. Most recently I had the chicken franchise for dinner over rice and I thought it was excellent. The cheesecake was my dessert and that was excellent as well. Another dessert I’ve had in the past is the bread pudding which I live and take to go sometimes. Friendly staff and never too long of a wartime To be seats for for my food even though this place is always packed when I go. They have a huge parking lot but they are not open 24 hrs. They do close at some point but only for a few hours. They also have cigarette machine if you are desperate. The time before last I had the souvaki made with pork and it was not dry at all the pork was moist like it was marinated.

Gritty diner with good food. The wait was a bit too long for breakfast and service was not very attentive, but food was good.

I have been to this diner several times and finally have the chance to write a review. The food of all types is very good. Most recently I had a cheese omelet, the portions are plentiful. The service is quick and polite. The menu is huge with a good number of specials as well. Good any time day or night.

My first visit here and it was a mixed bag. I had the Texas Giant burger it is as advertized. It’s big on a hard roll with bacon and cheese. The patty appears to be hand formed and not a pre-made pre-frozen deal. The fries were hot and crisp and well cooked inside even for steak fries. So here is an example of advertising something as home made that actually lives up to the label. The not so good, in the first moment when sitting down and grabbing the table edge I seamed to find the syrupy substance I assule left over from breakfast or a spilled soda. Just creates a «yuck» moment. And the burger for all of its texas size hand made delightful ness, didn’t have a lot of flavor. Just kind of pure beef without much flavor. They also could spare another slice of cheese and such a montrosity, just sayin. Overall seeing this burger though make me belive some of the other things on the menu that are advertized as either Hand made or home made may really qualify for the label. Next time in I be more adventerous in my menu selection.

I’ve been to this diner a few times, it a nice diner to come to anytime of the day for any occasion. The staff is very friendly, and the owner(John) is a good guy, and will usually greet you as well. They have a great selection of diner food, the portions are decent and tasty of course. Prices are reasonable, and the seating is pretty vast. The booth seats are very comfy, and if they’re not too packed you can choose where to sit. This is my diner of choice when home in Jersey, definitely worth a visit if you are in the mood for diner food.

Was here for breakfast earlier today. Once you walked in the waitress greeted you and host took us to a booth. There were many patrons there and as you look around the restaurant-the regulars that come to this establishment called the waitress by her name«Annie». Felt like a real family diner. There were patrons having meetings while other families having brunch/breakfast. Exceptional service– Waitress came over and just reads your mind about getting a cup of coffee. Ordered the steak(medium well) and eggs(over easy). The meal came on the table the way I like it. Yummy multi-grain bread, so use to whole wheat. She came by to refill our coffee cups and made sure if we were satisfied with the items we ordered. My friend ordered the French toast with bacon and was very please with the meal. Will be back for dinner that’s for sure.

Stopped in Sunday after my daughter’s softball practice. I’ve been here before, numerous times actually, and have no idea why I haven’t reviewed it yet. In a nutshell, my daughter really likes this diner-she absolutely loves the French onion soup and thinks their hash browns are the best in the area. I’m also a fan of this little diner, but I might not be quite as enthusiastic. I’ve had the burgers here and they aren’t bad, the French dip is pretty good too, but I’m so so on the fries. Breakfasts here are really good-especially the omelettes-and the coffee is pretty good too. One of my ‘tester’ sandwiches for a diner is a grilled ham and Swiss on rye… should be a pretty easy sandwich to make, but you’d be surprised at how many places can’t get it right. Brookside got it right. Look, this isn’t my favorite diner, but it is definitely a diner worthy of my cash. Service here has always been decent-they keep the drinks filled, they get you your food fairly quickly, they serve you with a smile(usually), and the prices aren’t bad either.
