Well first of all, i have to say… this is my favorite place… we always come here for special occasion(birthday, anniversary, you named it…) why? because the food is great! price is great!!! But if you are expecting something to serve you as you walk in, take your order and wait on you… then you are in the wrong place… Most of them time the front of the store is empty because they are too busy back in the kitchen… but that doesn’t stop me from coming to this place… if you are adventurous… come here instead of across the street where it’s always busy… give this a try… My personal favorite are: Lamb curry platter, Chicken Tikka masala, and naan… they are a little spicy, but oh man, they are so good…

We popped in here on the Fall Festival day. We did eat there, though everyone else is kind of right about everyone being in the kitchen. We really could have finished eating, gotten up and walked out into the crowd and they probably wouldn’t have noticed. That doesn’t change the food. I am big on food matching the price. I don’t mind high prices, as long as the food matches that. This place is AWESOME. The food is great and the prices are even better. I couldn’t believe the price on the kababs, so I ordered two. I couldn’t finish them. We’ll definitely be frequenting this place now.

Had mixed experiences with this place. I wanna give 4 stars for value and taste(very good egg biryani). But the service here sucks balls and is absolutely horrendous. Nobody gives a damn if you just walked in and robbed the entire store because everyone is busy working back in the kitchen. DON’T come here for service or a decent dining experience, you’ll get none. Come here to «pick up» decent tasting Indian/Pakistani food for a very reasonable price and you’ll leave a happy person.

Do not eat at this restaurant!!! My entire family had food poisoning. The food is spoiled, the workers in the back are extremely dirty. The restaurant is dirty. It’s amazing the restaurant is still open despite several health code violations. The owner is horrible.

Great food, personalized service and probable the best Chicken Chargha in North America. Kababs are also very good. Definitely recommend. Try there Daal, won’t be disappointed.

Fresh looking homemade food… Amazing Kashmiri and dhoodh pathee chai. They do catering and soooo friendly! The older gentleman behind the counter is reason enough to come visit. Also, definitely get the fresh poori/purhee that came with their Saturday buffet !

Lahori Charga, apparently this is Pakistani for FRIGGINAWESOME!!! It’s a Chicken dish, a bit spicy, seems to be a dry rub, the owner says it is steamed then friend. Dunno, don’t care. it is amazing. better still half chicken is like 7 or 8 bucks! The Naan is hot and fluffy with a crispy crust, the Alu Paratha is fair. Small restaurant, seems to be the owner and his wife? are the wait staff. I have eaten in and taken home and love it. Fair warning they tend to run a bit spicy so if you don’t care for that let them know, or if your like me let them know they can heat it up a bit too. Vegetable and Chicken samosas were good as well. This place has good food for a great price, the people are friendly and most important they are a local business. They would be doing far more business if they were not directly across from Kebab Paradise as most westerners believe Paki & Afghan food to overlap allot. Stop in and check them out!

Very average food… Takes a long time for your order to come out of the kitchen. portions are pretty small for the price they charge… very dull interiors… the veg biryani was different every time we ordered…

It’s ok. I guess for a local joint it will do. To me, the food seems dry and portions are small for the price. Paterson is the best place to get great kebab.

If you want truly authentic flavorfull Pakistani food this place is it. Period. When we went the food was prepared fresh and consumed by people that eat this type of food every day around the world and in Pakistan. If you care about the taste and nothing else this is your destination. Between three diners we ordered all the must have dishes and there was total satisfaction. Go ASAP. Haters drop dead.

I love Shahi Kabab. It’s cheap, they’re super friendly, the food is tasty(though a little oily), and the ambiance. Well, actually, while the ambiance is fun, it’s also the single least hospitable eating establishment I know of. It’s usually super cold, with the doors and window open, and it feels more like a catering depot(which I’m pretty positive it is), than a place to actually order or eat food. That said, the falafel is great, just hope they make it fresh. Who can argue with a delicious falafel sandwich, with Egyptian chick pea sauce and lettuce/tomato, for three dollars?

High quality home cooked style Pakistani food. Not many restaurants like this in the area and the owners work there on a daily basis. I go here often as well as get take out and have never been disappointed. The place is called«Shahi Kabab» though, not Shahi Food.
