I’ve been using these guys for many years. They are knowledgeable and helpful. It’s why I drive the extra distance from Laguna Beach

Best price on liquid chlorine I have found in Lake Forest so far. Close second: Home Depot, third: Walmart. Distant last place: Leslie’s. The dude who runs the place is a true«pool guy» and quite the character. Is he the best guy to ask for pool advice? I don’t know. But here’s some advice you can use. Do your homework. Buy a high quality test kit. Know what products you should and shouldn’t buy. Then you won’t have to worry about whether the dude at the store, or your overpaid pool guy is right or wrong. After all, would you rather have someone tell you what to buy, or know what you have to buy?

I had dark spots in my pool so had the pool builder out to look at it and he said it was black algae and suggested I treat it with an algaecide. He also tested the water and said the chlorine was fine and I should add 1 pt of acid. Which I did. Went to Sierra Pool Supply, with a water sample from the pool, which they suggested I bring. The employee there was an older man, 60-ish, weathered look and a pony tail. He proceeded to give me a pool chemistry 101 course for several minutes telling me my pool man was totally wrong, my pool chemistry was a mess, no chlorine, high pH, etc. Then questioned me about my running times for the pump and how he knew more about Edison’s billing system than Edison did. After 10 minutes of his rambling, I said I didn’t want to talk about electricity and that I was getting irritated and wanted to get my algaecide and get out. His response? «Well, I guess then we should just call it a day.» And I left. If you run into this guy at this business, turn around and leave.
