Golf Equation Swing Academy – Robb Nunn, PGA Professional

I am a middle aged male who has been playing golf for 20 years. Never have taken lessons before just tips from family and friends. I saw Robb’s ad for lessons and decided to give it a try. The only regret I have is I didn’t do this 20 years ago. Robb has totally changed my game from slice, slice, to fairway, fairway. I dont have the flex of a younger golfer but Robb adjusts the lessons to your ability. I live in Fountain Valley and drive to Lake Forest and would not trade Robb for anyone else. Robb is very supportive and easy to understand what he wants you to do. I believe if you follow Robb’s guidance your golf game will improve as did mine.

What a waste of money this guy is. Any review that says this guy did anything for them is most likely a friend of his. My girlfriend bought me a Groupon deal for 5 lessons with this self-​proclaimed «PGA professional». I was an amatuer who had golfed a few times but wanted to really learn the ropes. First lesson Rob tells me to take out a sand wedge and makes me spend the entire lesson NOT swinging the club, but rather just easing the club close to the ball. This is on the Cherry St driving range btw, I’m on the the driving range with a SAND WEDGE. In addition to that he shows me videos of a machine that tests golf clubs and tells me to swing just like the machine… seriously? wtf. Next 3 lessons he repeatedly has me use only a sand wedge and won’t let me swing it. Not at any point did I ever use a club other than a sand wedge, not at any point was I ever instructed to fully swing it. So I went to the Swing Academy for numerous lessons and never swung once. Truth be told I never saw this guy swing a club or hit a ball either, he claims to have a long straight drive, but all I ever saw him do was sit under an easy up smoking cigarettes. He showed me videos of Pro golfers swinging and what was supposedly him swinging, but you can’t actually see that it’s him, could be anyone really, probably another client that he ripped off. Honestly I didn’t even go back for my 5^th lesson, there was literally no point in going, this guy was only there to take money and do nothing to earn it. He even had the balls to tell me that I was going to have to do weekly lessons with him for a couple YEARS before I would see real results. This guy sincerely wants to get paid for talking a good game, but not delivering. Please don’t waste your money, you won’t get anything in return except for dissatisfaction.
Oh and Robb, if you’re reading this, don’t try to make some lame excuse for yourself or try to say that I wasn’t a client of yours like you do with all your bad reviews. Own up to the fact that you wasted my time and my girlfriends money. Oh yeah, I went to a REAL golfer and got REAL Lessons. I took 10 lessons and can now hold my own on any golf course. None of that was your doing. I told my instructor about my experience with you and he laughed pretty hard. Seriously Robb I can’t say enough bad things about you, it’s unbelievable that someone hasn’t kicked the crap out of you for ripping them off.

Robb has taught me a lot after 3 lessons and I just signed up for several more. He is patient but direct when correcting mistakes… really good at not putting pressure on you. I’m already seeing great results, striking the ball well more consistently than ever before.

Bought the Groupon deal. The voucher clearly says call or email to make a reservation. I called, then was told to email to set up an appointment. My email was not responded to. I called several days later. Rob said it was because I had a yahoo email address, and his website does not accept yahoo or aol email addresses. I asked if we could schedule over the phone, and he said no it had to be online.
Then he had the nerve to tell me signup with a different email carrier!
When I told him he would be losing my business, he flew into a rage with abusive and hostile language which ultimately caused me to hang up. This is completely unacceptable, and its clear this guy thinks he’s doing the customer a favor. Do not reinforce this behavior by patronizing this «business.» [btw, I spent over an hour on the phone with groupon to get my money back… some «deal» that was!]

Bad bad and bad. Don’t waste ur money. I paid for three lessons on groupon And got nothing in the one lesson I went to.

Robb is a excellent instructor. I now have complete strangers I get paired up with asking for pointers on their short game! I initially purchased a 3 lesson package and plan on making visits with Robb on a regular basis to further improve my golf game. If you practice what he teaches you will get the results you seek!

Robb Nunn was great. He had a very warm personality which made me felt comfortable with him right away. He used a lot of techniques to help me to understand the concept. He paid a very careful attention to details. I learned so much from him from the first lesson.
