This place is bomb! Really yummy and not as expensive as other Chinese restaurants. I’ve been to Chinese restaurant where the food is very greasy and make me feel yucky. This is the only Chinese place that doesn’t do that to me. I feel that their items are more raw and not with many added things and I never get the yucky feeling! My husband got the cream cheese wonton and wow! they were simply amazing!!!

I don’t know how this place has such great reviews. It was just ok. I won’t be back. Customer service was lacking. We waited a long time to be seated before anyone even acknowledged us, it took forever for the waiter to take our order, and then took forever for the food. It wasn’t that busy. The egg drop soup was more like soy sauce jello. Soup should not jiggle. Eww. Wtf? The cream cheese wontons were full of chunky carrots. Again, eww. I wanted cream cheese wontons, not carrot wontons. The fried rice was literally fried rice. No veggies, meat, or egg in it. Just rice that was fried with soy sauce. The chow mein was ok, but undercooked. It also lacked vegetables you typically find in chow mein. The egg rolls only had cabbage in it. How about you take the carrots out of the cream cheese wontons and spruce these up a bit? The meat dishes were ok, again, nothing spectacular, and no veggies. Eating here is like when you’re too broke for groceries and only have half the ingredients on hand that the recipe calls for, so you either skimp or get creative and wind up with a mediocre meal. Yet another disappointment on my quest to find decent Chinese food in Orange County.

The moo chu pork and cream cheese wontons are To Die For. The food is great and cheap! You will want to come back here again and again!

This restaurant is very unassuming it is situated in the parking lot of a Ralphs and CVS so you wouldn’t expect to find good food here but we did. The décor is current and the restaurant is clean. We had the Mongolian beef and the kung pao chicken which is served with rice, a salad, Chinese tea, and some Chinese pretzels. The Mongolian beef was absolutely superb, it was properly sauteed and seared and the juices inside were very succulent. I Highly recommend this dish. The kung pao chicken was also good but a little different than in most restaurants. The kung pao chicken was more traditional as it had water chestnuts onion and chicken. It too is quite good. The service at the restaurant was excellent many people visited the table to clear plates bring additional water and to make sure we were satisfied. This was a very nice dining experience and the restaurant had a good amount of traffic throughout the time we were there.

It’s not exceptional, but it’s good Americanized Chinese. We’ll likely go again.

Amazing Authentic food… Retaining originality and culture and serving it on a hot plate… thats what I can describe an experience in words for China Palace which seems to be a home run business delivering with a 7star service.

My family has been going to Din ho for years and have always loved it. Whether we are eating in or getting take out they always get the order right and the food is amazing. Everyone that works there is extremely nice and the service is great. I love the kung pao chicken and cream cheese wantons.

A friend and I were in the area and decided to come here again for lunch on a Sunday. To our surprise, the lunch specials were on. Just like that old Greek song, «Never on a Sunday» most other Chinese restaurants have lunch specials only Monday through Friday. That means, you can get a Sweet and Sour Chicken or other entrees for under $ 7 which includes a small bowl of soup(Hot and Sour), a tiny plate of Lettuce salad with Fried Won Ton strips on top with a sweet sesame vinegar dressing, then your entrée. My sweet and sour chicken was served hot, and there was still some crunch to the deep fried chicken, lots of onion pieces and sweet and sour sauce, and a few tidbits of green bell peppery and pineapple. There was one scoop of rice which may not be enough if you’re hungry… order a side of white rice. There was a deep fried egg roll, and they serve those fried chow mein strips when you are seated. Hot tea is complimentary, and the waiter brought us a glass of water. My friend had the Mongolian Beef(ha ha not Mongoloid like some people have mistakenly said) and it too had lots of onions, green onions, and about 3 – 4 oz. of beef. Both were pretty good, Food was served in 10 minutes. Wait person was busy and not chatty at all. but he was busy. There were lots of families here, and including two Chinese families as well. I have several friends who say a Chinese restaurants are not legit unless 1) Chinese people patronize it; 2) They have chopsticks on the table, and 3) There is a lazy susan so the food is shared with everyone. Din Ho sirkes out on the latter two, So I always respond, «I don’t care. If I like the food and nothing else is disgusting, I’m eating there… it’s all about the taste,» Anyway, I digress. The décor is old, dated, and minimalist… and I still don’t care. There place at 2PM was about ¾ full. I heard several patrons say they were regulars and really like it here. At this price, I wish there were more of these places around OC. And just think, the Panda Express chain charges about $ 7 for a two item combo and is pre cooked when you buy it. This place cooks your food to order, and to me, tastes better. And I always prefer to support local businesses when I can. Di Ho fo’ sho…

The only reason I am giving this place two stars is because the food was somewhat edible. The service, however, was horrendous. The male server we had the pleasure to be waited on by gave us no acknowledgment and seemed to be in a hurry. After he took our order, we never saw him again until the bill was delivered. He never asked us what we wanted to drink nor did he ask us how the food was. My blood pressure spiked when he reached across my boyfriend without saying ‘excuse me’ and almost hit him in the face. As far as the food is concerned, it was decent, but not good enough to draw me back. Not a restaurant I would recommend for a Chinese food connoisseur.

I stopped by to pick up my late late dinner right when they were about to close. I got orange chicken, egg drop soup and veggie chowmein. Then they added a chicken salad on the house. Everything was pretty gross, I knew it but I was very hungry and had no choice. Orange chicken was in a weird red color, many empty batter pieces rather than chunky meat pieces, egg drop soup barely had any stuff in it, it was mostly just salty soup. Chowmein was pretty nasty so I just threw away most of it after eating some broccoli pieces in it(broccoli was the only veggies in it, better call it broccoli chowmein instead of veggie chowmein) And they packed some weird fried snacks(?) in a big bag along with two stale almond cookies, and fortune cookies. And very stinky and dried cold chicken salad for free… I appreciated the gesture even though I didn’t eat any of those freebies. I’d better stock up some frozen food for my late dinner days.

For 8 bucks including tip, you definitely get your money’s worth for the lunch special. Today my co-worker and I came here for our second time for lunch. Service is good at first, but then it took forever to get my water refilled. In any case, here is what the lunch special includes: –Hot and Sour soup –Salad with won ton strips –One item with rice, eggroll, and fried won ton –Fried noodles to snack on –Hot tea –Fortune cookie When I leave here, I am absolutely full. Today I had the house special chicken which was pretty good and my co-worker had the orange peel chicken. That looked like it would have more orange flavor, but it was lacking and pretty sweet. I will definitely be back for lunch.

The Unilocal reviewers definitely didn’t let us down. This is a solid 4 star and we are so happy we found a descent Chinese restaurant. We will definitely be back. We ordered the chicken fried rice, chicken house special(came with steamed rice and salad), and the cream cheese wontons(we always call them crab rangoon). Everything was very good! Fried rice was very good. The chicken house special seems to be a standard at the place. It is just chicken(no veggies) in a good brown sauce. It says on the menu in the restaurant that it is spicey, but I didn’t taste any spice and that was fine with me. The only reason for the 4 stars was that I couldn’t find a menu anywhere online(no big deal), so I asked some questions when calling in the order and I think I kind of annoyed the lady taking my order. She was nice, but a little annoyed. The gentleman at the restaurant was very nice also. It was quiet and clean inside and I could see the family coming here for dinner(not just take out). Bonus: they gave us those yummy cookies with our order, along with the fortune cookies. :)

I got the orange peel chicken with complete dinner package for dinner the other night, and it was pretty solid! Could have had a little more kick for my taste, but I enjoyed it. The complete dinner came with a little salad, fried shrimp, egg roll, cream cheese won ton, soup, and fried or steamed rice. For about $ 15, turned out to be more than enough food for one person for that dinner plus 2 more lunches. Really friendly staff, pretty good food, great bang for the buck.

Ordered takeout based on positive Unilocal reviews. Big mistake. The lemon chicken was like cardboard. The wonton soup had such a foul smell to it that we threw it out immediately. Egg rolls were bland. The shrimp in the fried rice was boiled! Avoid this place.

I came here with a friend for lunch and we were not disappointed. Lunch specials are offered which include soup(sweet and sour soup) or a house salad(some basic mixed veggies with fried wonton wrapper strips with a sweet and sour dressing), rice(brown rice is available for for an additional $ 1.25), fried chow mein noodles and a pot of hot tea. We opted to order the dinner/entrée versions of the Orange Chicken and the Honey Walnut Shrimp since we were starving. The orange chicken is made just the way I like it — crispy breaded, sweet with a hint of spice — portion size is great. The honey walnut shrimp was also excellent. It is served with broccoli, but the portion size for this entrée was slightly disappointing as it was on the smaller side. But that was an easy fix — we just ordered another plate of honey walnut shrimp to make up for it! The restaurant is clean and the service was exceptional — they work as a team and we had 3 different people wait on us. Go support local!

My review is for take out only, I haven’t been in the restaurant seated for lunch or dinner. However, each time I have called in my order, I’ve been quoted a time and when I arrive food is always ready and I am in/out of there quickly. For some reason their website isn’t working — I tried the link from Unilocal and also tried to Google — would be helpful if the website was working.

Got takeout – my first Din Ho experience. Everything was great(almost) for a very classic American-Chinese place. From what I saw of the inside it looked clean and nice. They packed up my order very nicely, and all the takeout containers were of good quality and wrapped up well. Orange peel chicken was very tasty, Szechuan eggplant was delicious(!), fried rice could have used a little more seasoning. The spicy mustard was a big surprise, it wasn’t weak like most places, almost took my head off. The one let down was the hot and sour soup was inedible. I think the chef forgot the«sour». And that’s not a joke, I think they actually made it wrong. It was flavorless, thick, and only had a slight spiciness at the end. I took two bites and poured the rest out. I’ll try it again next time because I’m pretty positive it was a mistake. I’ll chalk that one up to a mistake, and keep it at a solid 4 stars.

Honey walnut shrimp replaced with pecans. Pay for walnut, get pecan. Menu says walnut, get pecan. Times are tough… get pecan.

Came in on a Thursday night around 7pm. We ordered take out and seems a few other people had the same idea. There were 2 – 3 other families waiting for take out orders and only a few family actually dining in. We placed our order for egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, kung pao chicken, and house special chicken. I think we waited for maybe 10 mins and the order was ready! Very quick service. They also threw in a chicken salad for free! In addition, we also received crunchy noodles, almond cookies, and fortune cookies. =) I didnt care much for the egg rolls. They were vegetarian, but the one I had only had cabbage in it. Usually theres celery, carrots, something else. Otherwise the outside was very crispy, I just wasnt a fan of the filling. The cream cheese wontons were good. One order has 8 of them. I enjoyed the kung pao chicken, although it wasnt spicy at all considering the amount of red chilies that were in it. But good mix of chicken, peanuts, and water chestnuts. The house special chicken was also really good. No veggies, just chicken, so it comes in a slightly smaller portion than the other items. This one seems to be a favorite with customers, so we decided to get it too. =) Overall, cant wait to come back and try some more!

SOUP Takeout Orders BEWARE! Food is good. But the lady who takes orders on the phone is ridiculous! Perhaps it’s her lack of English, but trying to simply order a large wonton soup is like a Seinfeld episode! She goes around in circles asking about how many people it feeds, and quart sizes. And she does this to us every time! It takes a good 10 minutes of back-and-forth on the phone just to order the goddamn soup! And then when we got it, and the large only had 2 little shrimp in the whole thing! So not worth the hassle!
