Great Clips

Recently moved to the neighborhood so thought of trying out this place. It seem to be a busy weekend, had to wait for 15−20mins. Then they informed me I can even do online checkin to avoid any long waits. The stylist (can’t remember her name) seem to be quite experienced. Listened to how I wanted my hair cut and it was done to the perfection. This is it and hope to get similar service in future…

After over 8 years of patronage, I am officially never going back to this Great Clips. There have been so many owner/​manager issues the last year or so that have affected the quality of stylists. Last year when the ownership changed the stylists began to complain while I’d be getting my hair cut. It made it uncomfortable but at least I knew if I got Lindsay or Linn I’d get a good cut. Now everyone is more professional about complaining but they CANNOT LISTEN TO WHAT I WANT. I don’t think asking for a trim on an angular bob haircut should be so hard. Two cuts ago the stylist cut it WAY to short. Last time I use a different stylist and she cut a straight bob. No angle. No modernity. Now today I specifically tell yet another stylist tgat I want the front to barely be cut but trim the back shorter by at least 1 – 1.5 inches. The exact opposite happens. She never cross checked her cut. Never showed me the back with a mirror. I get home and it’s crooked, not angled, and I’m in tears. I have an event Saturday and I’m embarrassed by my cut. I will NEVER return.

I’m not very happy with my haircut… I asked if she could cut the least amount off as possible and to add layers. Well… I don’t know if my request was received, because she cut off about 3″ and I’m devastated. I have to wear my hair in a pony tail now until it grows out. I hate it when people don’t listen… Won’t go back to this place. Thanks for short hair

Ok, so I had updated my experience to 3 stars due to the owners.
Shortly after my horrible experience I had contacted the owner and informed them of the incident. The owner promptly replied to me and apologized profusely, addressed the situation in a timely manner, and really took the time to communicate with me for what took place.
I had informed the owner that I appreciated them taking this matter seriously. I was not expecting anything more other then for other clients to walk out happy and satisfied with the service and their haircuts.

Check in online at 5:55pm, told me it’s a 20 minute wait. I went in at 6:20, told the counter lady I checked in online but she did nothing to input that on the computer. I ended up waiting for another 30 minutes. Only two people giving haircut with another lady doing absolutely nothing. She didn’t know what she was doing. There was about five people in line due to coupon promotion. But they didn’t hire more staff to expect the influx of new customers. Bad experience.
Verdict: understaffed, untrained.

I normally take my son to Sportsclips. I received a coupon from Great Clips and figured I’d give it a shot. Big banner saying it was under new management. I sign in, they ask for my address, phone number, etc. There is a computer screen that shows where you are in the pecking order. My son was fourth in line. I politely ask wait time. 20 minutes. Ok, I can hit the bank in the same center, kill 10 minutes and come back. So we do so, come back, sit down, and wait. And wait. And wait. 45 minutes later, I’d had enough. We walked out. I felt bad for making my son wait and no haircut. I don’t know what the screen was about because more than 4 people went ahead of us. I’m impatient at times, guilty here. But if I’m told a wait time, and it’s more than doubled, and you make no effort to let me know I’m next, or sorry for the wait, etc? No service at all. Hell, you coulda picked up the phone and called after I split, act like you care. I shoulda figured, a $ 6.99 coupon for a haircut should have been a red flag. More upset at myself for falling for it.

Can’t help but give it a high star award. It’s my local shop and they always treat me right.

Very short staffed. Not the first time. One of the stylist takes his break with 6 people waiting leaving just 2 stylists.
Please add more stylists to minimize wait time. I may stop coming if it doesn’t improve.

Quick service, well staffed, air conditioned, a surprisingly good haircut that won’t break the bank. j The new guy with the mohawk is a personal favorite. A few laughs AND a haircut, it doesn’t get better than that!

Came here to check the place out considering I just moved in the neighborhood. I got my hair cut by some guy named Pat. I came in just for a buzz but he talked me into doing a hair style. I let him do his thing and I honestly really impressed by his work. Definitely coming back to see this kid again.

Don’t go here for a haircut. The worse job ever. I went in for a simple trim and came out shaved in the back with choppy uneven layers all over. Unbelievable! How can someone that can’t cut hair graduate cosmetology school? And, how are they able to practice? Don’t they have to pass a test or something to get their license!!! So disgusted… I’d give zero stars if it was an option.

Came for the first time. My 9 year old got a horrible haircut by this Asian lady. He had lots of long hairs by the ear and to top it off the line from the back was hella cricket! Looks like a rat ate parts of it… Never going back to this place. When we came out my son even said mom please take me back to sports clips. Before you leave make sure your kids get a decent haircut or let them know to fix it.

I frequently see this place when driving to my friend’s house. They’re open late, which works with my schedule, so I gave it a try. I ended up with Kim. I asked her to simply trim my hair 3 to 4 inches. I prefer slightly curved trims instead of straight across. I made my request but then received the most bizarre, unprofessional haircut. After shampooing my hair, Kim took a comb and slicked all my hair back. She cut off 4 inches (not in sections, just a straight cut) and was done! She gave me a mirror to look at my hair. I looked at my hair and told her my hair was not cut with a slight curve. She said she didn’t understand what curved means. I tried to explain it to her using her comb as best that I could. She sat me down and seemed to pretend to cut some more hair and then was done again. This time, she didn’t allow me to look at my hair with a mirror. I felt the experience was unprofessional, fraudulent, and rude. What Kim did indicated no skills. I wonder if she has gone to school and has a license.

Ok, so i have been going here for YEARS. Linh, Vivian, Daisy, all of them are fantastic. They’re nice, sweet, and give me EXACTLY what i ask for every time with no problems. this time, i go in to get a quick trim, thin out my hair before my graduation and my senior portraits, which are the next day, I knew i’d be in good hands here. EXCEPT I WAS WRONG. The asian male employee was by far the most unpleasant and rude person I had ever met. He told me endlessly how my hair was dead and didn’t look good. (Thanks??) then, when i asked for something so simple, just long layers, he refused to give them to me saying they wouldn’t look good. I have gotten long layers here literally tens of times from the other employees. He said he would give me something better for long hair, i trusted him, let him do what he thought was best. the end result wasn’t bad i must admit. my bangs were great, my hair was thinner, and then after i left, i looked in my car reflection and realized. my hair was UNEVEN. the left side of my head was at least 2 inches shorter than my right side and i am absolutely furious because i don’t have time to fix this before my graduation pictures. Nice to know i’ll have perfectly crooked hair to remember my high school years by.
don’t get me wrong, every other time has been phenomenal, just if you get this employee, run far far away.

$ 8.99 coupon for a hair cut… can’t complain much! I just wish they offered more coupons!!! The ladies are nice, the seating area is clean but the shampoo shelf’s are very dusty. Overall, I would return.

I will not go back to this salon any more, they did nothing that i wanted them. I have to go to another place to fix it.

Will never go back here, Asian man was so rude with my 3 year old son. Ended up leaving before he started to trim his hair. That man needs social skills and needs to grow a heart!

What can I say? This place is really hit and miss. Half of the time a decent short mens haircut is the result if you stick with the main lady there. She is really nice too, and you cant beat the prices. If its busy and you have to get a cut from one of the newbies, then prepare yourself for barber college dropout hell. I got a major hack job once, a truly bad one. Next time I went in I made sure to use the owner. I complained about the previous cut and she said the girl was really hung over. Nice. I dont go there anymore, and choose to pay four times the price for a sure thing cut elsewhere.

Great place to get your haircut. I grew up in Lake Forest, so when I visited my folks last week I had to go to the same place I always used to go to, and unsurprisingly a small portion of the staff still works there. They remembered me and were friendly as always. I don’t normally Unilocal but I just thought I’d say a few good things about this Great Clips. They’ve always done excellent work and the price meets or beats their competitors. Just get your haircut here.
And while I’m typing: parents really need to quit weighing in on the stylist’s shoulders while they’re taking care of their children. I’ve seen this quite a few times over the yrs and I thank god my mum left me alone and let them do their job. Cut that out.

Very pleased with the hair cut my daughter got from marisa first time it was actually perfect marisa was very nice as well made us feel supper comfortable totally recommend her
