We came here 3 times on our vacation. The poke and ceviche were fantastic, as were all the fish we bought for grilling. Once we got the taco plate, which was also stellar. You can not go wrong with anything here.

On our last trip to Ka’anapali we missed going to The Fish Market. This time we made it for lunch and oh my what a treat! My wife had the fish taco and I had the Ahi plate. Both came with rice and macaroni salad which was great! My Ahi was seared and came with a side of wasabi cream sauce. This was an amazing lunch! The fish taco was delicious and the Ahi was fantastic! Service was fast and friendly and we will definitely be back!

Yep, the reviews were right. I got the baja fish taco and the fajita taco with shrimp. Both were awesome, but I think the shrimp would win. Add a little of the spicy sauce on the counter. My mom wasn’t a huge fan of the lobster bisque soup, so stick to the regulars. You cannot go wrong with the fish or shrimp. The price is right too.

Perfect for a quick fresh fish experience that’s easy on the wallet! We had the ahi tuna steak with wasabi aioli, the octopus salad, and the fish tacos. it was the best ahi we had on the island. Highly recommend for lunch or a daytime snack. Also, plenty of fresh fish to purchase to take back to the condo and grill!

My boyfriend and I wanted to try the fish market because of the great Unilocal reviews. We came on Father’s Day, which could have been the problem. It was super crowded which affirmed how popular this place was. My boyfriend and I got the seared ahi sandwich. Now, my docked stars for this rating does not have anything to do with the food. The food exceeded expectations. The seared ahi sandwich was so delicious and fresh! And, the portions were generous. The reason why I docked two stars, however, is due to the woman working the cash register. I understand that it was really busy and stressful but she waited until after we paid before she told us that it was a 45 minute wait to get your food. Now, I’m normally okay with waiting that long but this wasn’t a sit down restaurant. This was a to go restaurant and we expected to wait way less. I also did not appreciate that she told us after we paid so we had no choice. This took up a good portion of time that we wanted to spend at the beach. The food was great but next time maybe warn customers that the wait will be that long. Being around a bunch of angry customers waiting forever to get their food definitely lessens the experience

Maybe it’s because I hail from Texas, but I love hole-in-the-wall places like The Fish Market. No jacked up prices, no «froo froo» food items, no bullshit — just damn good food. I knew it was a good sign when I saw that this place is tucked away within a residential part of town — if locals loved it, that meant I would probably love it too! So, as far as the digs go: it’s split into two sides, one for ordering food, the other an actual fish market. There’s only a few places where you can sit down and eat your food, but we had no problem grabbing a spot to sit. I didn’t bother venturing towards the fish market; I went straight for the jugular, and ordered one baja fish taco and one pork taco. Both were absolutely AMAZING, and I was stuffed after frantically consuming both of them. Pro-tip: use the red sauce for a spicy yet delicious kick on your tacos. If I could do it over, I would have ordered a side of sauce for the pork taco — it was a bit dry, and I bet the baja sauce would have been a great addition. Anyway, for three tacos it was under $ 15, which ended up being lunch for both me and my mom — the cheapest meal the whole time we were in Maui. And arguably one of the best meals we had during our trip. If you’re staying on Kaanapali Beach, you have no excuse; make a point to stop by here at some point during your stay.

For no frills fresh seafood at half the price of the seaside restaurants come to the Fish Market Maui. You’re trading a view of the ocean for a parking lot and a plate with silverware for styrofoam and a plastic fork, but your saving $$$ and filling your stomach. I ordered a baja and regular taco both were excellent. Too much mayo taste to the mac salad but you’re here for the seafood.

Unilocal reviews did not fail us. This was some of the best fish n chips I have ever eaten, the coconut shrimp is also out of the world, and the calamari steak sandwich was amazing! We live in CA and near the coast, and we have never had this quality of food at this price. It is not a big place(fish market/deli), but I anyone coming here should not leave disappointed. Do yourself a favor and just try it.

Found this place on Unilocal based on its great reviews. We ordered the seared ahi sandwich and a shrimp taco plate +$ 2 charge for a side salad sub. Ahi sandwich was a tad overcooked(medium instead or the usual medium rare/rare). This is a waste for a fresh piece of fish but it was still tasty. My favorite part of the sandwich is the caramelized Maui onions. I couldn’t taste the Wasabi aioli at all. The shrimp taco was okay. I couldn’t taste the shrimp which were overpowered by the cabbage and tomatoes. Not bad for a first try.

MUSTGO. Even if you are far south in Wailea or near the airport Kahului, this place is a must go. Everything was so fresh and the service was outstanding. Friendly vibe. Ahi steak sandwich: has slight wasabi flavor in the cabbage i think, so beware those who cannot eat it! Unfortunately I am not a fan of wasabi, but my fiancé said it was one of the most delicious fish sandwich hes ever had! So that must be good haha Shrimp burrito: It was recommended to me by the cashier(who by the way was so kind and patient while we kept asking suggestions/questions). Oh man, flavor packed burrito, so delicious. The shrimp had the crunchy, fresh texture and every bite was just bursting with flavor. Will definitely recommend this! Although it was a little on a sloppier side where the dressing was leaking out of the burrito, might be a little messy for little kids? However, definitely recommend this burrito Price was very fair with the freshness of their food

The Fish Market! Me and my friends wanted to go to a market to buy some fish to cook for dinner and carelessly and quickly Unilocaled up «market», The Fish Market popped up and just decided to go there. Lol we quickly notice that it wasn’t an actual market but a restaurant/deli. But, it was a decent mistake. Haha Food: Seafood Special: The seafood special is a grill fish fillet(wasn’t sure what type of fish) with two shrimps and a scallop on a bed of rice and a side of salad. The texture of the fish was amazing. It’s very moist and tender. However, I feel that there wasn’t much flavor on this dish. Pretty much just salt and pepper. There is a sauce for the seafood but I didn’t like it too much… but then again fish isn’t my favorite either so I’m not an expert. Oyster Shooter: The oyster shooter here is the highlight and it’s only for $ 1! The sauce is a cocktail sauce with what it seems to be a hint of wasabi. I could be wrong, but it was every good. Shrimp Burrito: The shrimp burrito was good. They were very generous with the shrimp, we’re talking about shrimp in every bite! It’s serve with chips and pico de gallo. Why 3⁄5 stars? I’m sure this place deserved a 4⁄5 stars, but I can only rate from what I’ve order and it was missing in flavors so 3⁄5 well do for now. I’ll be back for sure to try something new! Tip: Try the soup here, I regret not getting it because everyone says it’s good! There’s seats outside so grab a table and enjoy the sun. Summary: Good :) Bomb oyster shooter for $ 1 Outside seating Generous with shrimp in the burrito Bad :( Nothing wowing really, besides the oyster shooters. Flavors are a bit bland from what I’ve ordered

This small place offers a HUGE selection of seafood. From Raw seafoods, to Sandwich, to Fried fish. Pretty good prices and very casual eating area. I ordered the Shrimp tacos, which was OK after I tried the Ono taco truck place. It was overpowered with ingredients and I didn’t enjoy much, too much sauce, couldn”t even taste the shrimp itself. The Ahi tuna sandwich was pretty good, big portion. They are also a Fish market so you can buy fresh seafood to take it home to cook. It varies everyday.

Tried the kalua pork and fish taco during my first visit and thought they were missing some flavors. I wasn’t very impressed. :( However, my boyfriend is allergic to shellfish and was ecstatic that they had a fish ceviche option on the fish market side. The fish ceviche was our favorite with the mixture of flavors! The ahi tuna, poke salad, and seaweed were also all very yummy. The oyster shooters had a slightly strong spicy flavor in the sauce, so you’ve been warned if you can’t handle spicy! Seating available inside along the walls or outside on some tables. No public restroom available. This place is also walking distance to a beach park.

Walking into this place was like heaven for me. All the fish! Must hold back my drool. Where do I even start? My favorite was the seared ahi sandwich. Yummy! Hubs tried their ono fish burger which was alright but nothing super special. We also got a little tub of poke to try. The fish here is really fresh. Mac salad was tasty. I would’ve love to come here every day to try all the things on the menu.

On of our favorite places to eat in Maui. This place was pretty crowded when we got there, but the line moved quickly. I ordered the seared ahi tuna sandwich — which came w/a side of chips and coleslaw. The tuna was amazing! I thought the sandwich missed a creamy component, but nothing a scoop of coleslaw couldn’t solve! The BF ordered the fish of the day burrito. This thing was massive, and mostly fish! Delicious!

To describe how much I love this place, I will open with this fact: During my family’s 5 day stay in Maui, we ate here 4 times and I’m now the Unilocal check-in duchess(#BowDown). No other place even came close to competing with The Fish Market when it was meal time, and if we ate somewhere else we wished we had eaten here instead. I had the fish tacos 3 times and the fish burrito another time. Both were obviously delicious and the fish was so fresh that I’m salivating thinking of it right now. My mother was obsessed with her fresh fish sandwich which was perfectly flavored with the grilled onions and also loved her Furikake Tuna. Oh, and PLEASE try the coconut shrimp. They’re in a league of their own because they’re so damn fresh. Their poke was also delightful and not overly salty like some poke can be. When I go back to Maui, you can bet that I’ll still be eating here everyday with no regrets.

Our third time in three days. That should speak for itself. Baja fish taco = ridiculous. So big, so delicately breaded in tempura batter, so damn good. Get it. Then thank me later. I’m not a fan of pork. Sorry Mr. Pig, but I’m not a fan. But my husband and kids love pork. They also have yet to steer away from the kalua pork tacos. Even with the amazing baja fish taco… They still love the Kalua pork. My daughter also loves the shrimp tacos. The ahi is good, but way overpriced. Go to napili market instead and get the same ahi for ½ the price. See you again soon!

This was our least favorite meal in Maui, despite all the promising reviews & raves from friends. I was fully prepared for the casual, no-frills, fish market vibe and can appreciate that the fish is indeed super fresh(you can see them bringing in the morning haul). But — the final product of the food we ordered just wasn’t all that exciting. My baja fish tacos were over-smothered in chipotle mayo. A real flavor-killer for me. My husband’s seared ahi was for sure fresh, but pretty plain and under-seasoned. The mac salad is SO mayonnaisey, I’m convinced it was just pasta + mayonaisse. Again, natural flavor masked by mayo. Not my style. I suspect the Fish Market could be a 5-star experience if I’d ordered differently, but our dishes were misses. Order wisely!

I stopped by here for lunch while i was in Hawaii. This has to be hands-down the FRESHEST fish place i have ever been to. I had the seared Ahi tuna sandwich. It was about 14 $ and came with macaroni salad and chips. I would say that is really expensive, but the sandwich was huge! Here on the east coast a sandwich with that amount of seared tuna would have cost at least 20 $. The tuna was truly AMAZING. A huge piece of fish and seared perfectly. If i ever go back to Hawaii i will be stopping by here again! I really wish i had eaten here more than once while on vacation. My dad got the crab cake sandwich and, my sister got the Ahi tuna plate. Both were spectacular as well. Service was good was well, we got our food about 5 – 7 minutes after ordering and it was fresh and tasty. TAKE: Check this place out most definitely. It is a great lunch spot and you will remember that meal for a very long time. This place in in the top 3 spots that i dined at in Hawaii.
