Paradise Grill

My husband & I were not too impressed by this restaurant. We both ordered Pina Coladas and they tasted very bad. We told a different server (because we hadn’t seen ours in awhile) that it did not taste right, which then resulted in some loud comments about how everyone has liked them all day from the bartender. We ordered a different drink which tasted awful as well. Food was okay but our appetizers that we had ordered for before our meal came out with our entrees. Lastly, service was not very good either. It was 8:30 on a Wednesday & not very many tables but we ended up having to ask other servers for things because ours was MIA a lot.

This is the best restaurant we’ve dined at so far. We walked from the Westin Resort & Spa after learning we would have to wait over an hour for The Hula Grille and surrounding Whalers Village restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised to find a soothing atmosphere with good classic rock, not too loud, and a comfy booth. The food was fabulous, starting with the Coconut Shrimp and Lettuce Mahi Mahi Fish Wraps. OMG. We moved on to a Paradise Burger with delicious Macadamia Nut Slaw. I had the Ahi Sashimi — very generous portion and so delicious — as The Eagles played in the background. The service was impeccable. I love it here! Aloha! Also, this restaurant is reasonably priced (compared to other Hawaiian restaurants) and the bar stools have backs on them, which none of the «other» long-​wait restaurants have, making it much more comfortable. Can’t wait to come back tomorrow!

I am giving this place three stars but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t go here. If you are looking for a quick bite for a good price, this place will definitely get the job done. My wife and I ziplined all morning and were really hungry for lunch. Being pretty dirty from ziplining, we needed something super casual. I got a burger and my wife had a quesadilla, both of which met expectations for a sports bar. We got 20% off as a promo with our ziplining company and only drank water with lunch. We walked out spending just over $ 20 which seems like a miracle on Maui. The service was attentive and friendly.

The wait staff were fantastic! Julie was attentive and went beyond her job duties to whip up a batch of tartar sauce for us and chased us down in the parking lot with our credit card we left behind. Both Julie and Tia. Are the Best

Great simple food at affordable prices. The restaurant wasn’t too crowded and the service was quick. We sat out on the patio overlooking the golf course.

Look… Truth be told. This place is a local DUMP… Loaded with drug dealers who the security guards «ok» them to do their thing. They also HATE anyone who’s not a local. This is sad being that it’s a business. The security guards there will rough anyone up who’s not a local and/​or treat them like trash. It’s a poor place to party. This is truth. Don’t take my word for it though. Go see for yourself. Dance floor is SUPER small, EVERYTHING is dirty, wet or broken… They DON’T clean. Their restrooms are ALWAYS busted or nasty with urine all over. HOWEVER… Bartenders are GREAT… THATS ALL!!! They are fast and efficient. BUT that’s all!!! Everyone else and everything else is a HUGE fail with this DUMP of a place. I will never go back. Paradise grill? HELL NO! Never again. Good luck… Oh and PS: most of their «reviews» are from locals or friends to make them look better… Hahaha what a pathetic business!!!

I don’t recommend the Paradise Salad. It had a big live spider in it. The bartender was very nice but he did not put the blue cheese on the side so my wife had to eat around it because she is allergic. Then we had to eat around the spider when she spotted that. Just kidding, we skipped on the spider salad and went to bed after eating a few goldfish crackers.

Didn’t like. Food was mediocre. Place was dead (should have been a clear message to avoid in hustle/​bustle Maui).

Loved this place… food was amazing. Pam helped us and because of her good hospitality we will be back.

So we found this bar about four years ago this November, Sarah was the bartender then & now, we go over to Maui about every 6 months, and we always go to this place to eat and drink, Sarah is an amazing girl, and we love her to pieces, I send everybody we know in there if they are going to Maui, and not one person has said one bad thing about the place or the service… We Love Paradise Grill & Mello Bar…

We went here for late night drinks and the bartenders were absolutely horrendous. They served their local buddies three times before they took our order. When last call came around they only took the locals orders and ignored the tourists. If you are visiting the island, find another bar because you will not get good treatment there.

Decided to check this place out for a change in scenery from the monotonous restaurants on the Ka’anapali boardwalk. Big mistake. Place was empty on a Saturday night, which should have been a sign to turn back.
They sat us at a booth at first, but we elected to move to a table under dimmer light after getting bombarded with bugs (and a few mosquito bites). Probably beginning to sound like a tourist here – but honestly I don’t mind a bug here and there. This was a different story.
I had the blackened ahi burger, which was a ground ahi meat patty. I love everything ahi, but did not finish this. My girlfriend had the monster dog with chili and cheese. Definitely lived up to its name in size, but overall everything had the essence of dingy diner food.
Only giving a second star due to the service, which was ⁴⁄₅. Everyone was very friendly and cheery. Quite a feat given the depressing atmosphere.

We came over after the Old Lahaina Luau to keep the night going, the bartender was really nice! we were a bit early since the DJ doesnt come on until 10 pm but they still had music playing. the bar probably doesn’t fill up until later on in the night
NOTE they have a large TV, pool tables, and a dance floor for whatever you’re here for

Came here on a Saturday night a month ago with my boyfriend and friends/​family. I know this review took a while but now I found the time to write it. Anyways, we brought a very large group this night. It was okay in the beginning. The place isn’t the greatest but as far as I know it’s the only place with no cover and an area to dance with no cover charge… in Lahaina.
I’m local to Maui but now reside in Seattle, which is where my boyfriend is from. Well, one of the security guards was so rude to my boyfriend and I know for a FACT it’s because he isn’t local or doesn’t «look» local. My boyfriend absolutely did not do anything to deserve the discrimination. And because that one security guard didn’t like my bf, all the security guards were the same way towards our whole group.
We definitely will not be coming back. I would rather pay a cover charge or drive to the other side than come back to paradise grill.

Every time I go here, there is always something that goes wrong or doesn’t meet my expectations, but tonight was the first time I felt I needed to finally make a review. I know what you’re thinking, «why would you keep going if it sucks every time?» I usually only come here when I’m desperate and I give a place a few chances until I review it.
Anyways, service is nice most of the time even though a couple times ago the hostess just stared at me and gave me an attitude and was confused when I said «a table for 2». I had to ask if they were closing because she looked at me like I was crazy for being there. For the food quality, I’ll quickly wrap up some highlighted experiences: hard old rice that was barely edible, all the chicken in my salad that looked clear through and smelt like it was a month old, salad that is soggy… etc.
Tonight was extra special since I looked over at the bar where I saw a waitress still in her uniform, apron on, face timing with her friend. (PICTURE INCLUDED) I get it, maybe you’re on your break, but if I was the owner of this restaurant and saw one of my employees not only sitting at the bar in their uniform, but face timing where all of your customers can see it, I’d fire her in a second. You’re representing the company and you’re making it look like immature highschoolers run this restaurant. Then, she gets up laughing making a scene and walks over to the hostess stand flipping her hair holding the phone out in front of her and props the phone in the cubby eye level to her and continues working (doing small stuff behind the hostess stand) while FaceTimeing. An older waitress joins in on her and starts talking to the girl in the phone laughing.
I gave this place a 2 star because it’s a good bar with live music and the bar food is good. Let’s face it, if you mess up chicken fingers, fries or nachos then you should just give up on your dreams of being even a mediocre restaurant.

Kavi server, Julie hostess. Good service, friendly efficient, just right. Hostess was friendly and fun to chat with. Biggest detractor for me was no A/​C. Didn’t know this before going. I know the open air thing is common and popular in HI, but I am not a fan of it and wouldn’t have gone if I knew.
Ordered myself a Big Dave burger to see if it matched my name. My Dad ordered a Reuben. The burger was a double patty, cheese on both, and all the fixins. I thought the garlic aioli could have been a little more present and had flavor (didn’t even see it, did they forget?) Dad’s rueben was lousy. Being from New York/​New Jersey we know what a rueben should look like. The pineapple in the coleslaw made some sense considering it’s Hawaii. But there was nowhere near enough meat on it. If you’re from ‘out east’, do not order the rueben.
They had all NFL games on and they told me they also did all the college games on Saturdays.
Overall, nice tourist sports bar, very nice staff, but nothing that was over-​the-​top outstanding. As long as you go not expecting anything truly amazing, you’ll enjoy. I guess I would go back (only on a cool day), but not making it a priority considering the diversity of options in the area.

This wasn’t my favorite lunch to date. The location was beautiful. The service was pretty good. And the food was just… kinda boring. I ordered the Huli Huli chicken sandwich and I was so excited for it to arrive. I mean who doesn’t love Huli Huli? It’s divine.
When my sandwich came all pretty and ready to go, I was super bummed when the chicken tasted a bit dry and lacked sauce. The bun was the Ono Hawaiian sweet bun-​toasted to perfection. The fries were great. I’m a sucker for great French fries since I don’t eat them very often so I inhaled every last one.
When the heart of the sandwich is off, it’s a bit of a buzz kill. Other than the meat, the experience was good. Not totally awesome, but fine. I would go back and try something else.

Very cool place, excellent service, everyone here is very laid-​back and the customer service is great. Just happened to stumble upon this place looking for a quick bite, the fish tacos were out of this world, good beer selection and the girls took care of us from the time we got there to the time we left! Thanks Amanda and Steph!

Got into Maui pretty late and was looking for somewhere to eat and ran across Paradise Grill.
It was pretty empty so we got seated fast. The waitress was very friendly and attentive.
I ordered the Loco Moco which was delicious!
They have indoor and outdoor seating and even the indoor seating still felt like it was outdoors which I liked.
Overall I liked the place!
