Great local coffee place. Good alternative to Star**cks. Had an iced coffee, organic iced tea(black) and Carmel Frappé. They also sell local grown coffee by the bag.

Love this place — best coffee on Maui! I am a self proclaimed coffee snob(a regular at Peets), and wasn’t able to find a really good cup of coffee… until Island Press. French Press coffee is rich and wonderful, well worth a trip in the morning. Owner is former tech guy from Silicon Valley, gone native — and he has created a homey coffee house in a strip mall! Well done folks.

One of the establishments we return to each time we visit Maui. Just a nice relaxed vibe with sweet décor, super friendly, and great tasting coffee. My mocha was expertly crafted. They also have a large variety of baked goods and unique eats. We skip the resort coffee and walk here — it’s totally worth it!

Love this place. Friendly staff, good coffee, and pastries. We come here every time we are on the island! They actually recognized after 6 months! Impressive! Also not a tourist spot! Go here and will not regret it!

Island Press Coffee is my favorite morning spot to have my Double espresso with steamed half-and-half and sugar. Ken, the owner has real pride in this business. Very cool hang out. Very Hawaiian style. Lots of memorabilia that would blow your mind. The people working here for Ken are exceptional. Especially Kamaki & Aloha. Cousins no less! Not a tourist spot at all. They’ve got some great liquor. Excellent selection of beers and other Maui goodies. Check it out, you’ll be glad you did

I was in Lahaina early on a Monday and I needed coffee STAT. I jumped on Unilocal to find some an awesome new place because, local coffee shops are my jam! This little gem is located just off the beaten path in a little strip mall north of Ka’anapali. There was lots of parking available at this time of the day. Just outside the front door, there is a cart of books for customers to borrow(So cool!) and a few tables with chairs. There was some shade, but the sun was just coming over over the West Maui’s so don’t forget your shades. it IS sunshiny Lahaina after all… The barista was a cool local bruddah who talked story and told me the insider scoop – which coffee was best and which of the baked goods were his favorites. He whipped up my stuff with a smile and showed me where the cream/sugar station was. My coffee crumble cake and medium roasted coffee were the breakfast of champions. There were lots of other choices of foods here – banana breads, fruits, yogurts, hard boiled eggs, string cheese, sandwiches, croissants and more. Seriously. There’s something for everybody. There was a steady stream of tourists and locals making a breakfast stop here. I scored a table all to myself and even had free wi-fi. Birds chirping, sun shining and delicious coffee. This place is a winner. See you soon Lahaina!

Very weak and flavorless coffee. Search further if looking for a good drip coffee. Not sure about their espresso and milk drinks. Always a bad sign when a coffee shop can’t make good regular coffee b

One day we had good rich coffee the next it was mediocre — watered down. Cappuccino was good. Didnt try the pastries but they are all saran wrapped which turns us off.

The man behind the counter is very rude. Have you ever had a coffee worker respond to you with«Yea I heard you» when you were just telling him you wanted ice in your drink? The coffee was not that good. Never returning here again.

Guy making coffee looked annoyed as shit soon as we got there… was not a happy place to get coffee. I was hoping the ice coffee was atleast good since people seem to really like their coffee here. It’s so damn sour and no bass in the coffee flavor. Sad face. Back to Bad Ass Coffee I go. Never coming here again.

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a warm-toned, air-conditioned, cozy Hawaiian café. The owner is a super-chill guy who let us stay in the café for quite a few hours. We ordered an iced macchiato, cold pressed coffee, and a lilikoi bar. It ran us $ 14, which was similar to resort prices, but had a refreshingly local atmosphere compared to the groomed resorts. Plus, all drinks and snacks were more delicious. We will definitely be back before our vacation is over. Random fact: they sell booze… but you can’t drink it there, lol! They don’t have the liquor license, so you can buy it to go. Ever the Hawaiian opportunitst

We’ve been coming here for a few days now and no matter who works that day the service is consistently awesome. One fact I learned today regarding the Toddy cold brew, is that it’s made from 5lbs of coffee per 2.5 gallons of water. That explains why I felt super high and jittery from it! Although super strong, it has 80% less acidity than that of hot brewed coffee.

Very cute place. Outside seating. Inside seating was preferred today. Free strong wifi. Definitely a must when we were looking for a place to hang out. Very cool songs playing. Mostly reggae or island music. Strong coffee. They have flavors of the day as far as kombuchas are concerned. Today is Lemon Ginger. Along this respectable strip is a bunch of other business. This coffee shop sits next to a Round Table.

I love to support small businesses, so when I saw this coffee shop was only a 10 min stroll from my condo, I was ecstatic. I indulged in a macadamia nut latte every morning that I was in Maui — hot or cold the beverage was delicious! The little shop exudes a very laid back, typical island attitude«relax, you’re not on the mainland» comes to mind when I entered this little coffee shop. The people that worked there were also very nice and even though the place is teeny tiny, there is also seating on the outside to accommodate larger groups or those that prefer a little more space. I appreciated the free wi-fi and the friends of mine that tried there caramel frappes and kona coffee shakes became addicted! The only disappointment was a slice of cheesecake that I tried one day. It was advertised as Kona coffee, but it didn’t strike me as having a distinct coffee flavor. All in all, this coffee joint is definitely a must if you are in the area.

I love breakfast sammies, so this past weekend during a staycation at the Sheraton Maui I decided I was going to get my fix at Island Press. It was a short walk from our hotel and a refreshing escape from the resort. I got the bacon, egg, cheese bagel while my other friends all got crossiant, ham, egg, and cheese sammies. The bagel was a little on the flimsier side — but you can’t expect a perfect bagel in Hawaii so I dealt with it. It wasn’t bad, just different — tasted closer to a roll then a bagel. It hit the spot. The coffee of the day was a Kapalua Coffee — I’m not a huge coffee person but I defintiely felt it as I sipped on that dark roast. As I was walking out — I grabbed a coffee cake — morning snack… right? I didn’t end up eating it that day but I wish I had because I probably would have gone back for another. I love the crumb in the coffee cake and there was PLENTY in that slice. I’m definitely going again to grab a few slices when I go back to Maui this weekend!
