I wish I had looked at reviews before I spent $ 150 on a pregnancy massage. Waste of money!!! I’ve had better pregnancy massages at a Thai place for $ 50. I’m so disappointed in myself for spending the money. I’m also not the type to speak up during a massage so I guess I’m partially to blame. I don’t know if this women just had never given a pregnancy massage before or what. She started out by asking me how I like pressure. I said please give me hard pressure. My neck, back, feet are killing me. Her pressure was like a feather and never worked any muscles. She started out my massage by telling me about how I can have a natural birth and that she had one. Awesome… moving on if I had wanted a feather pressure massage I would have asked. I walked out of $ 150 pregnancy massage not relaxed and still feeling a ton of pain. She also massaged my stomach which was super interesting since I’ve had hundreds of massages and never once has that happened. She also spent the last 5 – 10 mins doing I have no idea what but maybe like a healing or something we’re she just put her hands over my forehead, heart and other areas? I was staying at the resort next door and figured I’d save $ 50 and come to this place. I regret that desicsion!!! Don’t go here. Go elsewhere for a great massage. Not worth the money. They don’t even have a «spa» I walked in sat where the hair station is got walked into my room and left afterwords. No pools or sauna or spa. Or relaxing room. Nothing.

Worst reflexology ever!!! I left more stressed out than when I went in!!! Sweet therapist, but clearly she did not know how to do reflexology. I will never return and would suggest that no one else ever goes there for a treatment.

I went here for a blow dry and told the stylist to flip my hair with at the bottom. I do this every time and no one has quite messed it up like this salon. The stylist and her blow dryer were equally incompetent. Since at the end my hair were looking like a frizz ball, she decided to use a flat and curling iron on random strands of hair. I was looking like I was having a bad hair day. To top it off the owner charged me for styling instead of blow dry because there was some use of «styling tools» which was clearly because they didn’t know how to blow dry and the hair dryer was low heat. I was getting ready for a photo shoot and had to cancel it last minute

My advice is to stay away, far away!!! With all the beautiful salon&spas on Maui, don’t waste your time & money here. The owner does not execute genuine customer service and does not care about your service satisfaction. I was referred to Laura a stylist at hina mana who sadly works for this awful owner. Laura is talented and very nice and did her best to stick to the protocol of the hair treatment I requested. Unfortunately the treatment process was %100 precent unsuccessful so I requested a credit or refund for the whopping $ 400 I paid them. Their response was«No, because there’s no guarantee that the treatment will work.» I’m curious why a salon would have a service on their menu if their not confident it will work? That kind if thing should be in writing if your not prepared to reconcile a situation such as this. The salon was beyond uncomfortably hot, looks run down and shabby and the staff was unprofessional during my service. Good luck, I hope your experience is better then mine

Very convenient, especially if you’re at The Whaler. Very nice set up even though you wouldn’t expect it from the location if you didn’t know better. Michelle was great for my wife and Debbie was great for me. Very reasonable prices as well especially for beachfront Maui. Will definitely return.

Do not get a OPI gel polish here. The technician doesn’t know what she is doing. She skipped the first step of the removal process and had to file my polish off. She filed so hard she also took some skin around my nails. She was rude as well because she was frustrated. I almost got up and left

My wife and I have been apartment condo owners since 2000 at The Whaler on Ka’anapali Beach. We visit our condo 4 – 5 times a year. Hina Mana Spa is part of our routine when we come to our home on Maui — a 50-minute deep tissue massage; usually 2 times during our stay. The spa is well-managed with knowledgable and capable staff, and seems to be always busy with customers. We’ve always gotten our complete 50-minutes of work by professionals, not wannabes. One of our favorite things to do when on Maui — his and hers massages. A RECOMMEND.

I can’t say this salon absolutely fails at every service because I did not receive every service. BUT what I can say is that the staff was super slow-sloppy-unprofessional & had no problem making me wait 45 minutes after my appt was suppose to start, just to place my feet in sloppy foot bath & to wait another 15 minutes because the lady didn’t have her tools… I’m super UNpicky & am pretty lax about stuff like this but it really bothered me I paid 70 bucks for a sloppy pedicure. My lady half assed EVERYTHING. I had to close my eyes and think of a happy place to stop myself from kickin her in the face… Not to mention the place is dirty… the stylist hangin out on the desks were dirty, the receptionist didn’t know how to cash me out & I watched a girl stare at the wall for a long while before anyone greeted or acknowledged her. good luck to this place, I’m sure the only reason why its still afloat is because it’s latched on to a nice hotel.

I was in Maui on vacation and needed a much needed hair fix(color). Marty at Hina Mana was wonderful. My hair was amazing and made me feel gorgeous the entire trip. I was nervous going to someone new but would recommend her to anyone. Wish I could fly to Maui to get my hair done from her all the time.

Hmm, now, I know I wrote a review for Hina Mana right after I came back from our honeymoon, but it’s magically disappeared. I booked a deep tissue massage on super short notice through Hina Mana. I’m taking about — I rang up at 3:15 and had an appointment for 4:00 p.m. Because of all the construction happening at The Whaler, I actually had an in-room massage, which was all right — except for the fact that my other half had to awkwardly hang around the studio. Rudy was the massage therapist that I had and he was great; one of the better massages that I’ve had. I had a 15%-off everything check in coupon from Unilocal that I used. Had a few difficulties, as I wasn’t given the 15% off everything(massage, deep tissue + sugar scrub) at first, but the owner was very accommodating after the fact in refunding the difference. Deep tissue costs an extra $ 10, which I’m not sure if I agree with — although I am seeing more and more people charge the extra fee lately. If you’re looking for a relaxing massage in Maui, feel free to give Hina Mana a call.
