After coming a 2nd time to eat I had more time to look over this place. I have to change my rating. As good as the Soupy Dragon Dumplings are I just can’t overlook the sanitary conditions of this place anymore. The table cloths are filthy and doesn’t get changed after every meal. My skin was itchy as soon as I entered the place. The smell of cigarettes and the bathroom can be easily smelled if seated in the back of the restaurant. And yes I got seated in the back again! I was so busy swatting flies it was crazy. Then there’s the bait and switch. I asked for a particular soup for the kids so it wouldn’t be spicy. What I got was filled with red chili peppers. I complained and they tried to put up a fight convincing me it was pickled vegetables. When I wouldn’t cave they took it back. Immediately the lady started yelling in Mandarin at who put chili peppers in a clear broth soup. Seriously?! I can hear you and I speak Mandarin! When they returned the dish they skimped on the meat. They gave me less and a cheaper quality meat. Really?!! That’s how they treat a mistake. So I’m done with this place. I’d rather pay more and eat in a clean environment with quality service.

Walking in it was like a Scorsese movie, the two owners having a heated discussion(in Chinese of course) over a stack of styrofoam to-go boxes, all three gesturing at the open box at the top of the stack, full, of delicious looking dumplings. I caught something about the order being too many? I was here with my dad, on a recommendation of a friend of his. On that tip we called ahead for the big sesame seed bread, it was ready when we got there. The service was authentic, ie not what you come here for. The owner who served us was still coming down from that heated discussion, kind of curt and snippy, but he cooled down after a while. We had twice cooked pork, beef with onions(interestingly regular onions rather than green onions) and a dumpling soup with a great subtle broth with little bits of mushroom and maybe wood ears. My dad shared a story about how the greens in the dumplings were really popular now, but back in the poor days or wartime China, those were weeds that the hungry would forage for. The food was delicious, my dad was impressed, and we brought back enough sesame bread and meats to nosh for dinner. Victory!

My first time going here and I enjoyed the cucumbers, pork buns and the xiao long bao which were tasty and just a little chewy. A nice selection of Taiwanese fair. But the place is small and if you get there at the wrong time you might end up waiting over 45 minutes to eat. You need to ask for chili paste and white vinegar if you want that as well, they have them, just not on the table.

Went here for lunch due to a recommendation of a Chinese lady from work. Place is very clean and doesn’t stink so off to a good start. We were seated fast and got our tea but it was lukewarm. Booooo! We ordered our food which came pretty quickly so it’s deff a good spot for lunch. Seafood soup– this was sooooo good. The broth tasted like it’s been simmering the whole day with shrimp and fish. It had just the right amount of spiciness and the noodles were aldente Onion pancake– great flavor but a little greasy. Spicy dumpling– a bowl of heaven. They melted in my mouth. Pork steamed buns– they were okay. I’ve had better Pork & shrimp dumplings– these were also great. Be careful, the temperature of the food is HOT!!! Stir fried green beans– okay these were the star. I can eat these 3x/day, 7 days a week. Soooo addicting. Lots of spice but still crunchy! Sooooo good! Why I only gave it three stars? The service sucks. We’ve had to ask a few times to refill our tea. We also had to ask for some bowls and utensils. When it was time to pay, we had to ask a few times to get to go boxes. If you can tolerate bad service then this place would be a good place to go to.
