I’ve been coming here for about 7 years and I just can’t get enough. Love everything on the menu! You get what you pay for… Which is high quality food. I’ve tried everything on the menu and discovered the unwrapped burrito salad with champagne dressing is the best salad I’ve ever had.

The tacos were OK, but way overpriced. $ 3.40 for a single taco. I could have excused that just because we’re in Orange County, but what really inspired this review was the chicken tortilla soup. Worst Chicken Tortilla soup ever. For $ 5.50 a(small) bowl it barely had any chicken. It wasn’t hot, it had virtually no flavor, and it was packed with a bunch of hard, squash-like vegetables that I never would have expected in a tortilla soup. Hard carrots, hard squash, crunchy zucchini, something else squash-like that I couldn’t identify, topped off with under ripe avocado. It was so gross I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. Very disappointing.

Ridiculously delicious. I’m not from Southern California and decided to use Unilocal to find the nearest, highest rated restaurant and this one popped up. Good call Unilocal! I ordered the shrimp burrito(wet) combo with pinto beans. It was yummy. It’s also a huge portion; I couldn’t finish it.

I’m not a fan. My visits have been seldom for the past 12 years. Being from LA, it’s such a rip off. $ 3.40 for fish taco? $ 8 for a burrito and $ 10 for a wet burrito? It makes $ 1.99 fish tacos at Taco Nazo an amazing deal and plus they’re much more authentic. I have so much better fish taco options where I live and this is a prime example of what you have to pay for in the south of OC. And when you do come here, order only the fish/seafood items. Their beef and chicken is so horrible… sometimes so SALTY! Nachos are also horrible.

It is difficult to rate a place like this. Yes, the shrimp tacos/burritos are the best thing on the menu. But the food is expensive as hell for a place that is in the same tier as Wahoo’s/Baja Fresh/Chipotle. Overall the food is tastier than those others, but comes at price. The blackened fish taco is pretty good. The fried Ensenada fish taco is exactly like a fish stick inside and not that great. The chips and guac combo is expensive too. They do not serve real Mexican food, but instead I call this Cali-Mex, like Taco Loco. It is harder and harder to justify going to pick up dinner at this place on a casual weeknight when there are cheaper options in the area. The lines are much shorter now since they raised prices again.

I have the good fortune of working super close to this business and it’s an easy choice whenever I want to get a quick weekday dinner to-go. My usual here is the unwrapped vegetarian burrito, which is basically a salad topped with guacamole, rice, and beans. Surprisingly delicious and filling despite how healthy it sounds! The ingredients they use always taste fresh and the best part is the self-serve salsa bar with the chunky tomatoes and pickled onions. In terms of service, the workers I’ve encountered have always been friendly and QUICK despite how busy it sometimes gets during rush hours. Just as a side note: I personally HATE beans normally and usually ask for my dishes w/o them; the beans here are the only exception. The texture is just right and there’s a slight smokey taste to it. Delicious and nutritious!

I’ve been here twice and have been satisfied with their food. Fast and friendly service, good seasoning and flavor and clean establishment. Just a heads up, it can get pretty busy during lunch hour.

Disclaimer: I am not a food critic, or my opinion may or may not refl. ylect the majority of the public. Haha — i wish there was a palette test for those people who think they know what good food is. Everyone has their own relative opinion, just don’t think it’s the absolute opinion. Ordered two items: Baja Bowl con bistic Fish Taco combo I usually don’t eat mexican often. I’ve been to healthier places, but the meats were too dry. Chipotle is a go-to spot sometimes but the dishes aren’t as juicy-fatty as in hole-in the wall spots in california. Sometimes you NEED that grease to give it the kicker-factor. This place does it well. The fresh salsa with my beans and rice, and perfectly marinated bistic make it extremely delicious. Now obviously, when i say grease, it has a negative connotation. But sometimes you need that fat to give it taste. I would rather have a fatty chicken thigh or drumstick over a non-fat chicken breast. The only bad thing I would say is that the rice is too much. So if you are watching your blood sugar(or your weight) watch out!(I believe that carbs should be limited in our society for health reasons) since we don’t exercise as much anymore as a society.

Before running over to Dover Saddlery we stopped in for a quick bite. We both ordered carne asada and blackened fish taco combo plates(includes rice and beans). Best carne asada taco, ever. Blackened fish was good, but carne asada for the win. A side of(pickled?) onions and extra cilantro was a great touch to the already on point flavor profile. Their green salsa is great, too. Everything was prepped just right, and we will definitely be back!

Man — get here early for lunch — we arrived at 1100 and ordered immediately. Looked up 15 minutes later and the line went out the door. I got the shrimp taco combo, and we got an order of guacamole for the table. Guacamole was kind of bland(needed more citrus). The taco was pretty good, but the sauce was applied with more than a little exuberance. Good place for a quick bite, but not earth shaking.(Maybe I ordered the wrong thing?)

Love this place! It’s across the street from my work. I come here pretty often with my coworker and boss. I usually get the charbroiled salmon bowl. It’s delicious! They also have really great carne asada tacos. I really like the rice here. I think they cook it with butter so it has a rather creamy texture. Only thing is that parking is horrible here. There’s a lot of 20 minute parking and then very limited spots that aren’t. Luckily, you can always park on the side or in the back parking lot where snooty fox is. This place gets pretty crowded from about 11:30−2 but the line moves quickly and your food comes out very quickly. Great food, great service.

The carne asada here is sooooooo good. I ordered the carbs asada burrito and it was the size of a baby… No joke, it was huge. The burrito was $ 8.50 came with pico de gallo, carbs asada, black beans, guacamole, cheese, and rice. It was delicious. The guacamole actually tastes like guacamole, not some fake imitation guacamole you find at fast food restaurants. The only con is the parking, in which there is very limited parking spots that aren’t 20 minutes. The lunch rush line gets long, so calling in your order ahead is always an option if you are pressed for time.

Although Baja Fish Tacos is a chain, this restaurant knows how to do Mexican food right. Start with the freshly made chips and guacamole! But make sure you don’t forget to swing by the salsa bar, which offers an array of different salsas. For your entrée, get the blackened fish burrito stuffed with lettuce, cheese, pico de gallo, and more guacamole. The fish itself is grilled and coated with Cajun seasoning. The baja bowl is also a good choice if you want to ditch the tortilla. We have tried a few of the tacos as well, and they are equally delicious. Forget Wahoo’s and come to Baja Fish Tacos.

Top notch. The fish and shrimp tacos and burritos trump any other place I can think of in OC — This includes California Fish Grill, Bear Flag, and the standard fare — Wahoos, Rubios, etc. The blackened fish taco and shrimp tacos are winners. Surprisingly, the carne asada burrito(get it wet with green sauce!) was also amazing! Get a combo with the pinto beans and white rice. I’ve never had rice and beans that was so addicting! They give huge portions, and worse case you’ll have plenty of leftovers. Salsa bar has a few types of salsa, as well as onions and jalapenos. The pico has fresh, juicy chunks of tomato and a ton of flavor. The hot salsas aren’t really hot, there is a subtle kick. Really good salsa options. Baja Fish Tacos, until we meet again.

My family and I stopped in for a quick lunch. I now understand why my brother prefers this place for tacos. It’s so fresh and tasty! All the soft tacos were $ 3.40 a piece except the shrimp taco which was $ 4.75. Blackened fish taco — Delicious! I had imagined it to be completely black, but it was grilled just right with what I thought was the perfect amount of spice added on. Mm… pico de gallo. Charbroiled fish taco — Didn’t look like much. Don’t get me wrong, it tasted good, but since it was on the same plate as the blackened fish and shrimp taco, the charbroiled fish taco just paled in comparison. Thanks goodness for that pico de gallo! Shrimp taco — OMG. YUM. This was knocked-my-sandals-off scrumptious! I counted a total of 6 whole pieces of shrimp. The flavors of the garlic butter, white wine, cotija cheese, baja sauce, fresh tomatoes and cabbage just melded so damn well together. What a joy to bite into this piece of work. Uh oh… I’m actually salivating as I type this… Their salsa bar offered something I’d never seen before: pickled onions. Well, holy habanero, were they spicy! If you can take the heat, definitely go for it! The tacos are good as is, but with extra salsa makes it better! They also carry a nice selection of domestic/imported beer as well as soft drinks like Jarritos and Mexican Coca Cola. I’m just so happy there are four locations in Orange County. Baja Fish Tacos, I don’t mind paying $ 5 for your shrimp tacos as long as you don’t skimp on the shrimp and keep your tantalizing flavors consistent…

Baja fish tacos is the best! The food is delicious, the staff is so friendly, and the restaurant is super clean. My favorites– the blackened fish tacos combo which are served Cajun-style with rice and melt-in-your mouth pinto beans and the steak quesadilla served with guacamole and sour cream. This dish is surprisingly not greasy at all. The salsa bar is amazing. I don’t know what is in their salsas, but they are so good! Disclosure: Even though the line is always long, don’t let this turn you away, because it goes really quickly.

I am not a big fan of Mexican food, mainly because living in California forces me to limit my choice to either Mexican, or fusion with Mexican twist, so I am tired of Mexican influenced food. But, ironically I do crave Mexican food sometimes. I prefer modernized, or Americanized, or not too traditionally authentic Mexican food, and this place meets my preferences. I especially love their cheesy Nachos with Carne Asada, I like their guacamole that is pretty bland but true taste of fresh avocados, and the cheesy wet burrito in green sauce. I got fish burrito this time, it was fresh and clean. For Nachos chips, I prefer this location to the one in Costa Mesa/Santa Ana(?)(on Bristol). The chips here are thinner, crispier and less oily. All condiments on the salsa table, are fresh and clean, the onion pickle which is a bit spicy, but it adds a great flavor to everything. Clean restroom, clean and modern interior, kitchen, and easy ordering process, friendly staff, and less crowded is a plus in this location. Why minus 1 star? Maybe because the building itself is old, when I enter the place, first thing it greets me is some kind of old library smell that makes me loose appetite a bit.

I don’t know why but this location isn’t as good as the Santa Ana store. However, this place has a lot less foot traffic. I always have to order ahead when going to Santa Ana’s location because the line is always out the door. Laguna Hills, not so much! Two taco combo plate — The combo plate comes with rice and beans. You have your choice of meat. I tend to get the charbroiled fish as the blackened version is a little dry. Their Ensanada style is a lot healthier as the breading is miniscule. Their tacos are double-wrapped with corn tortillas and topped with a ton of shredded lettuce. The lettuce is always super fresh and crispy but sometimes it is a bit of an overkill. I find myself throwing some out because I want to taste that fresh fish. The condiments bar is self-serve so make sure you pack whatever you want. I like my food to have a bit of a kick so I get the green salsa and seasoned onions. I always carry a pack of gum when eating here because those onions are extremely potent!
