These guys hooked it up!!! Coolest and most helpful guys ever. They worked with us greatly and offered over-​the top aid and knowledge for a first timer like my friends and I. The bikes provided were so smooth and easy to ride that it made consider actual purchase of a mountain bike!
As far as the trail, (i believe Chris is his name) he told us exactly what trails to take and how to make it back to the shop safely. Overall great experience and will most definitely be back soon and all throughout the summer.

Closed before their posted time — seemingly just hanging out inside til they can go home. Apparently they don’t care about selling anything. Go elsewhere if you can or take a bet and show up during posted hours.

Rented bikes from these guys to check out the local trails and we were impressed. They are super enthusiastic about cycling, provided great tips on where to go, and have a solid selection of bikes to choose from.

Went here twice in a week to get a bike for my 11 year old. Got 2 completely different bike recommendations from different salesman each visit. We left totally confused and disappointed. Sales guy totally threw other sales guy under the bus saying he didn’t know what he was talking about. I couldn’t wait to get out of there and away from the stuck up salesman. Won’t go back.

These guys are completely awesome! I called to see which bikes they had for rental and they gave me their options. We decided to go by before deciding which bikes we wanted to rent. These guys were friendly, helpful, and they know their stuff! We were the first people to take these brand new beach cruisers. We rode around for two hours then brought them back. If you’re in the Laguna beach area looking for a place to rent bikes this is the spot! Plus they have specialty mountain bikes that we plan to rent next time!

This is a small local bike shop.
The people that work there are knowledgeable and good with repairs and tune ups
Their bike selection is limited but they do tend to sell higher tier of bikes like Specialized and others
Also their clothing selection is very limited

Thank you for humiliating my son today. He came in inquiring about a cruiser. He was told «Hell no we don’t have cruisers. Where do you think we are? If you want a cruiser go to Balboa Island». Nice customer service! Our next stop was Bike Religion. After talking to my son about what he was going to use the bike for (transporting surf board down the hill to Brooks St) the sales person steered him toward a Felt Café’ 24. Now that was good customer service. You should not judge a customer by his age… unless you want to keep turning away local business.

The people at Laguna Cyclery are very friendly, fair and fast. If you have some time, check out the The Stand next door. I’m not vegan, but the food and service made for a great stop on a bike ride to San Diego.

Great shop to deal with. I rented an Ibis Ripley and it killed it on the nearby trails. The shop did a full inspection of the bike and dialed the suspension in to what I needed. Shop employees are professional, welcoming and they know the local trails (they provided me with a map). They don’t carry a ton of variety in their stock, choosing instead to select good and great items.

Great place, great equipment and great staff. The 4 star rating is basically only due to the fact that finding a decent path to take was a pain in the butt for us, but otherwise, the establishment is 5-​star worthy.

Great little bike shop with friendly staff, good prices, and knowledgable owner. Bought some tubes and other small accessories there over the holiday. Unique shop, music pumping, and cool old bikes on walls for display. The bummer is the location. It’s a pain to go to the middle of Laguna Beach, even on the bikes. Too many people and crazy drivers there.

I’ve been riding bikes all my life but just recently got into mountain biking. I borrowed a bike from friend to get started and after a couple of rides I noticed it wasn’t shifting properly and then the chain broke. I’ve done basic work on my single speed bikes before so I thought I’d just replace the chain and adjust the gears. Yeah right. While it’s easy to turn a screw and see it adjust something, actually knowing the proper adjustment is a whole different story. I realized I needed a professional and fast.
I brought my crippled bike into the shop and was greeted by Ken. He took a quick look and said it needed major surgery. Great, I thought, there goes my evening ride and I’m sure lots of cash. I was pleasantly surprised when he said he was ahead of schedule so he could probably get it fixed if I wanted to wait. So he went to work replacing a gummed up shift cable by making a new one, bending things back into place, turning screws, adjusting spokes, sizing the chain and using tools I didn’t know existed let alone how to use them.
I took a look around the shop and it’s obviously geared toward the avid cyclist with lots of high end bikes and all the gear to go with them. If you’re looking for the target/​walmart type cheap bike, this is not the place, nor should they try to be. Pretty soon Ken was done with my bike, charged me a very reasonable $ 60 for all the work he did and I walked out excited to go for a ride.
When I got home I went for a few laps around the block but something didn’t seem right. The tire was rubbing slightly on the chain adjustor. I took it back into the shop to see Ken on his lunch break. He asked what was going on and I told him about the problem. He was very sorry I had to come all the way back and stopped his lunch to figure out the problem. After a few adjustments and another test ride it was perfect.
While it’s great to have everything be perfect the first time, every time, the reality is life doesn’t work that way. It’s what a person does to correct the problem that makes the difference and this was a perfect example of how to do it right.

This place rocks! I went to several bike shops looking for a special bolt for my carbon fiber stem. Several bike shops pointed me to this laguna beach shop. I found myself in the neighborhood this weekend and decided to stop by. I explained my problem to the owner and he quickly turned to a drawer and pulled out the exact piece I needed and only charged me a couple bucks for the piece that no one else had in stock!

This afternoon I was riding on PCH when a spoke on my back wheel broke. I was on an organized ride but there was no sag mechanic available at the moment and this made me extremely nervous as all I wanted to do was to get back to my ride.
I immediately used Unilocal and found Laguna Cyclery which was about 0.3 of a mile up PCH. Patrick and his staff were extremely helpful and was able to replace the spoke, true my wheel and see me on my way to a very successful ride. Patrick stopped what he was doing and took care of my issue immediately. If I lived closer to the shop it is likely I would bring my bike in for continual service.

I learned about the shop a year ago when i called to see if they had a bike in stock that i was interested in. They did, i said i was going to come down but may be just a bit after their store hours. The staff said they would wait for me 30 minutes after closing for me to get there. Well I made it to the shop and they were very helpful and knowledgeable. I rode two different bikes and ended up buying a Ibis 650HDR.
Oh, and they have a awesome sound system with great music pumping all the time!
I have recommended the shop to other friends and the feedback has been great!

Patrick — I stand by my review. After my accident the employees at Laguna Beach Cyclery had a cavalier attitude about the incident. Kyle was more concerned about damage to your bike than to the potential harm to me.
I never received any follow up from Kyle, from you or anyone else at Laguna Beach Cyclery after the incident.
Of course I cannot comment on your store’s attitude towards safety in the two and a half years since then. I was visiting from out-​of-​town and only dealt with Laguna Beach Cyclery for a day. But based on my experience, my conclusion is accurate.
I’m curious, which part of my story exactly, do you find inaccurate?
