Jewel of a find. Diamond Beach was the most memorable spot of my weekend getaway. I got a tip from Shana, a local to check out the sunset there and I fell in love instantly. Parking wasn’t an issue, but I do drive a Mini and gangster my way into spots. It helps that the climb down the stairs is scenic. Once your toes hit the sand your facing rocks, caves and amazing sea creatures. I checked out both sides at sunset and was able to capture amazing shots with my Iphone. The lighting was perfect. The setting sun was the perfect backdrop for the glistening waves. In the morning I returned to share the magic with my friends. This time we stayed on the right side and timed the tide to cross over to a private cove /beach/cave further to the right. Be careful crossing! I almost lost my shortest friend in the process. The tide swallowed her and she ended up making out with a rock and scratches all over her tummy. This journey was worth the risk. Keep climbing right and you’ll see wonderful rock formations and shallow pools with tiny fishes.

Diamond Beach is my favorite beach. I have lots of great memories here. It’s an intimate little beach with two sides. There is the beach side, but if you go around the huge cliff jutting out then there is this little beach. If the tide is up then you may get a little wet getting around. It feels like a little secret. However, it is well known. This beach can get busy during the summer months, but not like some beaches around. And if you really want to be secluded, then you can continue around the next cliff that juts into the ocean. You have to either climb over it or swim around it to get to the other side. This beach is also good for the night beach types, like me. I’ve had a lot of great times here sitting in the sand, passing a bottle of wine around with a couple of friends. There are also plenty of places to take a piss from all that beer/wine.
