Great food! Always a fan favorite and a good view for sunsets!

We were fortunate to find parking on the highway across the restaurant for free. We waited for seating for about 15 minutes which wasn’t too bad. I had the shrimp ceviche and it was delicious! The patio dining area has a great view of the Pacific Ocean. Perfect for dates. Great service by the waiter and the entire crew. Also their homemade salsa is addictive!

Great view and location, but not the best food. If you’re looking for some authentic Mexican, this is not the place to go. This was during the week, and the crowd was light during lunch hour. I heard about this place from a friend and have had it bookmarked on Unilocal for quite some time so I decided to drive down for the day from Hollywood. Both my friend and I were a little disappointed with the food. We had an order of the chips/salsa/guac; taquitos, I had a chicken taco salad, and my friend had the fish tacos. The food was just alright. The chicken used in the taquitos and taco salad were the same flavorless shredded chicken. The salsa and guac were okay as well. I wish they had different types of salsa to make up for most of the dishes tasting the same. The overall experience was good. The server was very friendly and gave us several recommendations on what to order on the menu. She also suggested that we go to particular places in the area for the views and beach. Can’t be too angry in the area when the view is great, the beach is within reach, and it was sunny outside. I believe the valet parking was $ 4 in their private lot. I didn’t see very many spots for street parking. I suggest sitting out on the patio so that you can see the water. A couple of rooftops can be seen below but you’ll enjoy the view of the ocean.

Really disappointed in this place. Food isnt terrible and view is pretty good. Kind of trendy dive bar vibe. Then it gets bad. Pay for chips and salsa? Why don’t I valet my own car while I’m at it? Worse: customer service. Came at 2:50 and they took our order at 2:55. Happy hour is at 3pm. Refused to give us HH pricing like some penny punchers. When we asked for them to adjust the manager printed out the time the waitress put the order in(2:55). Customer is always a dollar sign right? This place can lick a ballsak.

I’m confused as to why this place doesn’t have 6 stars, but it rocks. My wife and I have been here a handful of times and it’s been a solid choice every time we come To start, the parking can be tricky. There’s parking along PCH if you can find it. If not, Coyote Grill has a VALETONLY parking which charges $ 4. Not bad. The service is excellent. Everyone is super friendly, attentive, and consistently check in to make sure you’re enjoying the food/stay. The food is very good as well. I love seafood and have had the pleasure of trying the langostino tacos, calamari, shrimp, fish, guacamole and a half dozen oysters in their shell. Everything is fresh and tastes delicious. They are very generous with their portions. I can’t recommend the place enough, and my wife and I have definitely become fans. Don’t hesitate, just go and try it.

My wife and I are always looking for a great restaurant with a view of the ocean. This place is all that and it is not a fortune. Fish tacos were amazing, as well as the crispy shredded beef tacos. Will definitely come back!

Been here twice and both times were pretty much the same. The service is good. About a 10min wait, food and salsa is good. The view of the beach is nice but it’s hard to get a table next to the window.

My cousins lived in the beach cities for years so I could always count on their recommendations for delicious recommendations off of PCH. They’ve been wanting to take me to Coyote Grill for a while now but we finally had a chance to hit there happy hour when we were all free on Memorial Day evening. Their happy hour is is 7 days a week between 3−6pm! That is awesome that they still do happy hour on weekends! VALET($ 4+tip) — They have a private lot if you are too lazy to find beach parking. COYOTEMARGARITAS(HH $ 5) — The first one was delicious! Just the perfect ratio between the mix and the tequila. If they were all this tasty, I could have camped out here all night. Sadly the second one was overly sweet and overly sour with too much of their house mix. Where is my tequila? CHIPSANDSALSA(complimentary) — They don’t always bring it to you unless you ask for it, so just ask for it. Their chips are fresh and their salsa is pretty good too. CRABCEVICHE($ 14.75/ HH $ 4.50) — Yummmyyy! The crab meat was marintated in lime juice and mixed with a barely spicy pico de gallo. It was also topped with avocado and served with a side of crispy chips. If you want to be gluten free you can ask them to replace your chips for cucumber slices. It was delicious and I think the happy hour prices are worth it, but I definitely wouldn’t consider getting this for the normal price since the portion was really small. CALAMARITACOSPLATE($ 14/HH $ 11) — BESTTACOSEVER! Wow! These calamari tacos are amazingggggggggg! I was surprised by how generous they were with the amount of tender lightly battered fried calamari strips in each of these tacos. They have a secret sauce that compliments their calamari and also cabbage, cheese, tomatoes and cilantro. Even the tortilla was light and fluffy and just the right petite size. I loooove everything about it! Each taco plate came with two tacos and spanish rice and your choice of pinto beans or black beans. My cousins had the pinto beans and I had the black beans and we all agreed that their beans here are dried and unflavorful. It was so unworthy next to the glorious taco! I love their food, but our waiter was too busy clearing our table and handing us the check when we definitely wanted desserts and were considering more margaritas. We took it as a sign to just go home and drink more. So close to a 5 star experience! I will definitely be back for those Calamari Tacos though… probably on a Tuesday when it’s $ 3 for any taco all day. I really don’t care for the rice or beans here.

What an impressive first visit! My husband and I were headed to a different brunch spot but saw Coyote Grill on the way and decided to go there instead. I’m glad we did– there was a wait for a table but plenty of space in the bar area so we sat down right away. The service from the bar area waitress and the bartender was fantastic. The music(alt-rock/country americana) was great, and the food was EXCELLENT. Simple brunch menu items done very well– I had the huevos rancheros and my husband had the waffle. I’m very picky with my huevos rancheros because my standard was set in San Cristobal, Chiapas– and Coyote Grill’s version was awesome. We live in L.A. but anytime we are down here, we’ll definitely be back!

This place has a great location on PCH. It is fun bar environment to watch a game if you can snag one of the few seats in the bar area. The food is decent Mexican food, but nothing is particularly noteworthy. The staff is pretty solid.

Had the opportunity to try this place out today as a buddy of mine has been raving about it. Well, he was right! This place is amazing. Walked in, greeted by the host. Told it would be a 10 minute wait to be seated on the patio which overlooks the ocean. After careful examination of the breakfast menu I order a Bloody Mary which was really good, and the Chilaquilas. First bite I looked up and so fuck this really good. Besides my drink and food being good, most important the service was even better… so if you’re looking for a small whole in the wall breakfast joint. This is it. It will surely be added into my go to places.

Beautiful view here and solid Mexican breakfast. I got the chicken machaca. The chicken was a bit dry and the dish could have used more sauce but overall good. The guacamole especiale was spicy and amazing. The salsa was also spicy too and yummy.

Fast service, tasty food, awesome view! Big portion sizes– I ordered the chicken tostada and my husband ordered the chicken burrito. Inside and outside seating available(great to sit outside during sunset!). Awesome gem on PCH in the city of Laguna Beach

If I ever find a better fish taco I’ll let you know… but this place has the best I’ll probably ever have. You really can’t beat this restaurant, and the view is one of the best parts. Their rice and beans are great compliments to the fish tacos. I also ordered the fruit with Mexican chilies on it. Also a great go to when it comes to a small appetizer. I will continue to stop by this restaurant every time I come to Laguna!!!

I’ve been here a number of times for both happy hour and breakfast. Their happy hour prices went up, but they are still one of the best games in town. My favorite combo is a coyote margarita, a cold corona with a lime, and a mini chicken tostada on a warm summer day with an ocean breeze flowing through the restaurant. It really feels like a little slice of heaven. The front area is the only place you can sit for happy hour. It’s unfortunate, because sometimes it gets pretty packed and it’s hard to wedge yourself into a seat. But there is a great local vibe and everyone is usually pretty friendly. You might be able to sneak a peak of the ocean in the back directly through the bar area, but you’ll most likely be looking at directly at PCH, which can also be pretty entertaining with all of the crazy drivers. They also have the perfect day after hangover breakfast. The carne asada and eggs are my favorite breakfast item. The only other items I’ve had were the egg burrito and coyote special, which were both pretty solid as well. Combine with a bloody mary or mimosa and you’ll have yourself a proper Orange County Sunday morning.

Love this place. Fast service friendly and the breakfast is amazing. I ordered the Carne Asada with eggs over easy and wow. Meat was tender and instead of the potatoes I substituted vegetables and walla a almost healthy option. The view from the patio is gorgeous, even on a overcast day. The back area has a fireplace that adds to a comfortable atmosphere. You’ll love it here as it serves quality food, the prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is beautiful.

I ate at Coyote Grill about a year ago. Other than a killer view the food was mediocre at best. At that time I had 2 crispy chicken tacos. Since I was in the area I thought I would give this place another try. The food went from being mediocre to down right bad. The nachos ordered reminded me of something you could throw together with tasteless ingredients. The chips were stale and it was drowning in enchilada sauce. There are plenty of great places in Laguna with a killer view and great food. Won’t be returning here.

Came here on a Sunday morning with my wife after driving by numerous times and seeing massive wait lines outside. We were told the wait would be 30 minutes but ended up getting sat after 15. I ordered the Coyote Special(pancakes w/strawberries, bacon and eggs) and my wife ordered the steak burrito. Both were amazing and I loved how they cooked the strawberries INTO the pancakes instead of just putting them on top! The chips & salsa are also delicious. Important to note: the sides of guac and sour cream only come with the steak burrito. If you wish to order the chicken burrito, you will have to request guac and sour cream for an additional cost. Also, pancakes are only served until noon. I’ve heard they have great happy hours and plan on going back for same!
