This place is a hidden gem! The food is quality and the service is great. The burritos are a great size! This is a bomb place to get Mexican food for a good price!

don’t get me wrong I’ve been coming here for years but today I asked for a blackened chicken taco and the lady said it was NOT possible I was pissed! after all the business we’ve been giving you guys and refer so many friends this is the thank you we get. I’ve NEVER been to a Mexican restaurant that doesn’t accommodate such a simple request! Have you??? and they don’t refill chips you have to pay. I’m not happy with them right now!

The food is great and the older lady working register is so nice! Really enjoy coming here. But as I work in the food industry in extra keen to small details. Most of their employees including kitchen crew chews gum on top of that chews gum with an open mouth while making the food as I can see because the seats next to the kitchen line with the see through glass. 2 stars off for that. Will be back in a couple of weeks.

Really fast service, very yummy enchiladas, good prices and beer! The perfect in between of fast food and sit-down. We were pretty beachy but wanted better quality food than fast food and this was perfect.

Awesome place and awesome service! My friend and I were visiting and stopped in for a drink. One of the waitresses offered lots of information on things to do in surrounding cities! Definitely recommend this place.

Very disappointing my wife & I had breakfast on Saturday, wow the breakfast burrito was filed with mash potatoes it was disgusting. They have a Unilocal of 4 stars I thought it was going to be great. The staff was trying to be friendly, but the food was not even Mexican and it was not cheap, I can get a better breakfast burrito at Del Taco for 1⁄5 the price.

Adolfo’s is the best Mexican food I have had in Laguna Beach. It is both delicious and inexpensive. My personal favorite is their taco plate that includes two good sized tacos accompanied by rice and beans. If you are looking for a great hole in the wall restaurant in Laguna Beach, this is it.

Very friendly folks, fun location but the breakfast burrito was basically all potato, and flake-made mashed at that: disappointing. Might try another meal but definitely not breakfast again!

this place was great. It was nice to find real Mexican food in Laguna beach. We found our new spot to eat when we come to stay at the hotel now. My salad was great and the tacos were just like home.

I really wanted to like this place. Why? Easy parking, usually. Inexpensive. Close to home. So I tried it numerous times. And with each visit, I mentally willed it to improve; but it didn’t. So much for mind over matter. Yes, there is a «salsa bar», but it sucks. Yes, the people are pretty nice. But the bottom line is: You get what you pay for here.

I called in advance to place an order and went to pick it up then went back home to eat and we noticed it was the wrong plate, I called to let them now and they told me that I could go pick up what I actually ordered then got there and the lady was so rude to me and told me she was right and I made the incorrect order, so rude !!!

Delicious! Had the seafood enchilada, seafood burrito, chimichanga and salsa bar. The sweet owner lady practically spoon fed us with chips.(We thought she was going to put the chip In our mouth) it was all delicious and priced well. We ate on the patio with all their greenery. Rice and beans were tasty as well. Loved the mural in the bathroom. Very kid friendly.

I was walking in Laguna when I came upon this little«hole in the wall» restaurant. I’m so glad I went in and ate there! When you walk in you go up to the counter and order. There is a small area to sit inside, some booths and some stools at a bar top, as well as a small patio outside. They bring the food out to you when it’s ready. The food came very quickly. I had the Taco/Enchilada Plate($ 8) and a beer. I was really impressed, it was so tasty! The Taco/Enchilada plate came with rice and beans, and was so much food, $ 8 was a really good price. We also shared chips and salsa. They might have just been out, but there was no salsa verde which is my favorite. The red salsa was just okay, the pico de gallo wasn’t great. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are craving Mexican food in Laguna!

Were staying in Laguna for the weekend just up the street and we walked over to Adolfo’s. We mayyyy have ordered too much, but — we saved a lot too. The kids each got cheese quesadillas and I was so pleasantly surprised to see they used quality, real cheese inside a tortilla lightly roasted. Huge hit with with the kids(and…ahem… the 4 adults to tried them too). The kids’ appetites aren’t huge, so there was enough for them to want to eat more at dinnertime. We got a side of refried beans for them as well, but the portion size was big enough for I’d say 2 – 3 adults to share for dipping chips/quesadillas/adding to tacos etc. We also ordered…2 shredded beef crispy tacos, 2 chicken crispy tacos, 1 chicken tostada and a california burrito. Other members in our group ordered a carnitas tostada and carnitas enchiladas. The tostadas are huge — they filled up an entire to go box. Loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, beans, meat and the tostada shell at the bottom. ONLY complaint on that was the shell gets a little soggy, but whaddyagonnado. There is no way to avoid such a first world problem. The meats were all fabulous — so moist and great flavors. I didn’t get over to the salsa bar to see for myself, but I did get to try some of the fresh salsa other people brought back and it was SOGOOD. So refreshing on a hot day. The fresh factor was clear too. We waited for about 10 – 15 minutes to go? May be less. Enough time for us to wait a bit, order a beer, and wait a few more minutes. It didn’t seem like forever, but if I was starving, I might be singing a different tune. 4 tacos, 1 tostada, 1 california burrito, 2 quesadillas, a side of beans and 2 drinks ran about $ 40. Not bad considering the massive amount of food we ordered. The people working there were SO nice and friendly! I believe the owner/owner’s wife was working and she is a sassy grandma with purple hair spicing up the grey. She was so sweet and gave my kids some chips that were so fresh they were hot! This packed, hidden treasure is going to be a go to for sure any time we find ourselves in Laguna again!

Is this high-end Mexican food? No. But if you are looking for some large portions of tasty, not so healthy Mexican food for a cheap price(one of the few inexpensive places in Laguna) along with some friendly service then this is the place to go! Whenever the whole family is in town, we always plan a night to have Adolfo’s. It’s one of our favorite local spots. We all love it. The flour tostada is one of my family’s favorite items– with choice of meat(both the chicken and pork are excellent), refried beans(so good!), sour cream, cheese, and lots of lettuce and pico. If you like veggies I recommend adding on some fajita veggies as well — so good! My grandpa swears by the pork Enchilada Verdes(really anything with the pork and verde sauce is amazing in my opinion). I also love the Machaca plate/burrito. And if you like spice, check out the salsa bar!

Met the family at a property nearby and decided to walk down the street to Adolfo’s after reading the reviews. We have 2 kids under 4yrs and 4 adults on a Wednesday night and there was 1 booth open– which can accommodate 4 people max. We decided to take the food to go. The salsa bar is small — we mixed the red sauce, tomatoes, cilantro and limes to make one big salsa at the house. It was great! I ordered enchilada verde, another ordered chile verde burrito, seafood enchiladas and tacos. EVERYONELOVEDTHEIRPLATE! I loved mine and can’t wait to come back and bring others! Verde sauce was tasty and a bit spicy but a good flavor all together. Good prices. Very friendly service. At Least 6 other groups of people were here. Felt packed because it was a bit tight. We wanted to sit outside but it was cold– we will do that next time– can’t wait! Food’s EXCELLENT — I highly recommend

We had the carne asada plate, 2 carne asada tacos, and a very unique tamale burrito(tamale, beans, cheese, and enchilada sauce). The food was definitely good and tasty. The carne asada plate had 2 slabs of carne asada with a good taste, corn(or flour) tortillas, and yummy rice n beans. Definitely wanted to try the tamale burrito… and I’m glad we did, but it wasn’t that great. It tasted like a tamale with beans and enchilada sauce. It was good and I’m glad we tried it, but it wasn’t great. It was a little pricey(compared to a Rob/Alb/Filib/Jilb/Erib-ertos)…about $ 10 for the plate, almost $ 6 for the tamale burrito and it wasn’t that big. Other normal burritos were $ 8 and some change. But not too bad overall. Little trendy, divey, grab some food after a surf sesh, nice afternoon stroll spot. A little loud inside. Overall…yum.

My wife and I pulled into Laguna Beach looking for a place to have lunch. We had decided on a pizza place that was highly recommended on Unilocal and were walking there when we came upon Adolfo’s. A spur of the moment decision put us inside and I was ordering a chorizo taco and a Carne Asada Steak taco on warm, soft corn tortillas with sides of rice and refried beans. Both the tacos were great and that is enough to make me recommend everyone toil try this place but I really just Mexican restaurants by the supporting players on the plate, the rice and beans. Both were good enough to have been a meal as the main players on the plate. I have to be in Laguna Beach for a few days and am planning on trying a dinner of the rice and beans with a cup of the Albondigas soup.

I’m pleasantly surprised to find this hole-in-wall in Laguna Beach, of all places. Don’t get me wrong, Laguna has it’s fair share of great restaurants that I love, but they all also come with a hefty price tag Adolfos has some legit Mexican food for a reasonable price. The booths are small and it really has the hole-in-the-wall feel(but much cleaner!) so it’s not ideal for a date or large groups, but its perfect for a quick bite. The portions are generous for what you pay for. The tacos are marinated and really flavorful and they are a decent size: note… NOT street taco sized! They close early…9pm, which is kind of a bummer, so no late night food runs here, but I guess this means you can fill up here before you kick off your bar hopping night. Nothing says pre-gaming than Mexican food, amiright? (Actually I wouldn’t know, it’s been too long since I pre-gamed for bar-hopping. Oh I’m old)

We decided to check out this Mexican food shop based on a friend’s recommendation. We both agreed that the best Mexican food can usually be found at locations that can be described as somewhat«hole-in-the-wall»(HITW). Finding the perfect balance of HITW and«clean» is key to finding the best, authentic Mexican food. That being said, Adolfo’s strikes a pretty good balance between the clean and HITW. It is pretty warm and stuffy inside(I estimate about 85°) and only one fan was working, but there is outdoor seating and it wasn’t very busy at 9am so not a big deal. We ordered an egg, cheese, and potato burrito. We substituted the regular potatoes for french fries, as that sounded like fun to try out. The layout of the restaurant allows you to watch your food being prepared, which is nice. As I watched the cook preparing our breakfast burrito, I saw the cook throw in a generous grip of bacon. Awesome if you’re a meat-lover, but if you’ve been a vegetarian-for-life like my wife, bacon is bad news. I hesitated to jump in and correct the cook, as maybe he was just cooking someone else’s burrito(even though the place wsas empty?). Turns out it was our burrito, and when I asked if we could have the burrito without the bacon, I couldn’t tell if the cashier was pissed or not. We ended up getting our burrito, as ordered, and took our meal to-go. I was a little surprised at the price of the burrito. $ 7 for a single egg burrito with freezer french-fries is quite steep. The burrito was tasty and the tortilla was warm, soft, and chewy, but the quality of the ingredients didn’t justify the price in my eyes. Also, not a huge deal, but they cook all their food on a big griddle, which means the eggs are cooked in the residue bacon fat and whatever other grease has hit the griddle from other carne. The salsa bar is nice, if not particularly fresh. The cilantro and onions looked old(cilantro wilted) and the other veggies didn’t appear bright and fresh. The salsa, on the other hand, was great. The red wasn’t particularly spicy or flavorful, but the green had a nice heat and an interesting spice I couldn’t put my finger on. Definitely used most of the green! Adolfo’s was a fun experience, but I can’t say we’ll be back. If we were in the area and having a hard-core craving for Mexican food, we might stop by, but definitely not a destination restaurant for us.
