I don’t always use ketchup when eating fried chicken but when I do it’s at social southern. Although the fried chicken seemed like it was farm raised/organic chick it still lacked flavored. I believe it says smoked then fried chicken on the menu so it has an untraditional flavor to it. You get a breast, thigh, wing and leg for $ 20…I wouldn’t recommend it. The biscuits were pretty good though. Other than that the interior design of social southern is beautiful and the staff are friendly. Rating them 5 stars solely based on the fact that I’ve only been their once and I would hate to hurt their rating solely based on fried chicken that didn’t each my expectations.

Food is very well thought out and prepared. They change up their dishes because of the farm to table aspect. But the pork belly and the smoked fried chicken were excellent

Thank you Social for being so accommodating! I have a dairy allergy and know that, at Social, I will be taken care of from start to finish. The staff is wonderfully attentive(never worry about finding someone to fill your water or answer your questions), and the chefs are always willing to adapt and accommodate my allergies. My go to is usually the brick oven chicken(a must have), but tonight I had the new pulled pork dish but over french fries instead of the sweet potato purée, and it was amazing! The pork was tender and flavorful and the apple kimchee was a perfect balance of spicy. Thank you social for once again giving me flavorful food without any allergy concerns! And a huge thank you to our waiter for all the help and suggestions!

I came for lunch and really enjoyed myself. I had a cup of the seasonal soup — a curried squash soup — which was delicious. I also had the chop salad, which was beautifully presented. The smoked chicken on top was perfectly cooked, and the sweet onion vinaigrette was very well done. I thought the price point was just a little high, but at this point I’m nitpicking. I imagine it’s a perfect date spot and I’d recommend it to anyone.

From the outside it might just seem like a plain building, but the interior is really eclectic. The small plates were hearty and our server(Daniel?) was very knowledgeable on beer. I would definitely return here and recommend to any Lafayette newbies.

This place was simply amazing! It is very clean and fresh. The menu is very expensive, with a lot of delicious looking items. I got the 3 pork belly sliders. They were absolutely delicious bursting with flavor. The dessert menu looked amazing, & I ordered a white cake with citrus crumbles that sounded really good. When I got it I was very disappointed. It was soggy and a small pile of of mush for $ 8. If it wasn’t for the cake, I would definitely give them a 5.

What a perfectly thought out experience Social Southern Table creates. First the ambiance, décor and layout allow for different dinning experiences to fit whatever your party is looking for that meal. Longer high tables create an easy atmosphere for conversation and meeting new people, cozy booths & chair combo tables make an elevated rustic vibe and the bar boast the friendliest & most attentive staff. While some meals are staples on the menu there are always plates influenced by seasonal vegetables and/or herbs. Of course the pork belly sliders are a must, or a burger which lays between one of the best buns. If salads are your calling prepare to be impressed. Gorgeously constructed these salads make evn meat lovers swoon. I honestly haven’t had a bad meal. Brunch, lunch, dinner or just drinks Social is my go-to! Best cocktails in town!

Great food and great vibe here. I had the fried chicken and biscuits as well as the Mac and cheese both were excellent. I also did the beer flight sampler which gives you 4 sample draft beers.

Stopped in for dinner while going to Houma. Nice place. Boyfriend and I shared the Frites and gravy — so stinkin good, fries, mustard gravy, pepper jelly, hot boudin and a fried egg. It works. He got the steak with churrasco sauce — cooked perfectly, pre cut and was one of the best steaks I’ve tasted. I got the seasonal soup — pumpkin with blended tofu and sriracha. Hot and so good. Great desert menu, plenty of beer, wine and scotches to choose from. Definitely reccommend the place.

Great food, great drinks, great service, great atmosphere. This restaurant is top notch. I have never had anything less than an exceptional experience. It’s a little pricy but the food definitely makes up for it. I would definitely recommend Social for a date night.

Meh… had lunch the other day, ordered the Ruben. First one came out crispy, I mean post mortem, ready for the crematorium. 15 minutes later, got the second. At first I thought wow, it’s a totally different sandwich, but then I realized it was soaked in butter and after a while that’s all I tasted. To boot, waited 20 minutes for the check, it wasn’t busy. Service was knowledgeable but used to working a busier shift. Fly by…

Great ambiance and décor! We were able to get a table straight away. The drinks were delicious and the Mac and cheese was amazing. The wait staff was very attentive but they were out of random things. I’d definitely go back and try it again!

One of my favorite places to eat. Favorite appetizer — crab nachos! You HAVE to try it! Service is always terrific! Fried chicken is DELICIOUS! No matter what you order, you can’t go wrong!

Credentials First. I grew up in a Deli in NY, and have written the first Jewish-Cajun cookbook ever, which has been endorsed by one of the most famous Jewish chefs in the U.S. Two years ago I wrote a five star review for this place. How does a five star review become a one star review? Here’s how… This was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had in Lafayette. I was shocked as to how bad everything was. Here is a synopsis: — Pepperoni flat bread — like a cracker with a little cheese and cheap pepperoni on it. Nothing at all like the thick pizza-like flatbread I had here last year. — Mac N Cheese — like some noodles and cheese heated in a bowl. Not baked, which any good Mac N Cheese needs to be. Very weak. — Pork Sliders — A tiny piece of pork on a little roll drenched in Sriracha-mayo sauce. Terrible. — Cheeseburger — so salty I could barely eat it. — Corned beef sandwich — The most disgusting corned beef I’ve ever had. A couple of fat chunks of corned beef with two huge pieces of pure fat on the sandwich. It’s absolutely horrifying that the kitchen could serve something so bad. It was sent back as it was inedible. I sent an email to the management which was replied to with a «sorry about that» line. It is as if they thought I was lying about my meal, or did not believe me. No offer of comping the meal or of a gift certificate. I will not be back. Ever,

Absolutely phenomenal!!! The pork sliders were so good I had to call my mom to tell her about them. Highly recommend this restaurant. The martinis were extraordinary also. Nothing we tried was less than perfect and the atmosphere was incredible. We will definitely be back’

GREAT Food and Drinks. Came in with a very large group and everything was so good. Great food, drinks, wait staff, everything was great. I had a couple orange blossom drinks that were great and some other drink that I don’t remember the name of but it had pomegranate in it but it was good too. We had the shrimp and grits, the biscuits, the Brussel sprouts, the sliders, frites and gravy(OMG!!! SOGOOD!!! I wanted to lick the bowl!), and some oatmeal cooking thing. Everything was great. There were only two issues 1. They ran out of the smoked fried chicken but it wasn’t that big of a deal because everything else was SOGOOD and 2. You guys don’t have a location in the San Francisco Bay Area. I wish I could get this food whenever I want. I guess I’ll have to make a trip back to LAASAP!!! Great food, great drinks and great staff!

Wonderful burger taste. I added Carmelized onions and wished I would have gotten the spicy mayo but I didn’t know! Yummy! Very neat place with an urban yet country vibe. Very nice establishment!

We LOVE Lafayette. We LOVE it. As the heart of Cajun country it’s home to some of the greatest restaurants in the world, and every time we roll through town we have to make the rounds. Social Southern is one of those places. Awesome food, and matching cocktails. Including the«Social Animal», their version of our favorite classic. Made with vodka, their own house made mary mix and garnished with pickled okra, a quail egg, and a CRACKLIN it is truly southern. and delicious.

As soon as Social opened and I had my first visit, I was hooked! Their mac and cheese is to die for– seriously, I live in Houston now and whenever I return home I HAVE to go to Social for mac and cheese. The décor was perfectly executed with this restaurant, no trace of the Chinese buffet it was before! They achieved a perfectly loft-like feel, with a central bar and show-stopping brass tap lines running along the ceiling(truly, Lafayette didn’t know what hit it with this place). Aside from the mac and cheese, the flatbread with tomato jam, krab nachos and really the whole menu is amazing. There is so much flavor, and so many home-cookin styled dishes done with a twist. You will not be disappointed. My favorite drink is the Creek Water, though I have tried many others, and enjoyed them all. The creek water is gin-based and so refreshing… to me it tastes like summer at the lake. They also have a very nice beer and wine list. All-in-all, Social quickly became one of my favorite restaurants in Lafayette. I have never been disappointed and, as I said, I make it a point to stop in whenever I am back in town. Cheers!
