Burgers are good even the size cost ration seems s bit off … Couple unimpressive fries to choose from. Also the beer on tap comes in 12 oz glasses that supposed to look like pints– so get a bottle it will safe you a buck!!!

First off don’t come here on a Saturday night-no seats. Second, taste test your burger before you eat it, they mixed up my husbands bison burger with my beef burger. Ugghhhhh I can’t get this bison taste out of my mouth.(I kept eating it because I thought it had just been grilled on the same grill as the elk & bison but nope!!! I was full on eating the bison!!!) PUKE! Sooooo disappointed!

Time: A late lunch. This spot is more of quick bite, than a leisurely meal. I rarely hit up chains**, but yo, Roam’s market salad was calling out to me from the pics and reviews. While in Lafayette for a meeting, it was a perfect opportunity to give it a whirl. 1) This is a Lafayette hot spot! Parking in the lot is like hunting for treasure. If you find it, take it. 2) You order at the register and then sit down. There’s a ton of communal seating as well as a long bar. The space itself is full of rustic wood and lots of natural light. I’m imaging a lot of edison bulbs, although I wasn’t paying attention. 3) They sell milkshakes that looked spectacular, but they also sell craft beer. 4) Everything is a la carte so it does add up. I went with the Market Salad with an add-on of the mini bison burger trio, which fyi the salad itself is huge, but it ended up being a bit pricey for lunch. Not a fan of bison? They also have veggie, turkey, beef and elk. All free range, grass fed meats. As I mentioned, the salad was big, fresh and delicious. Chock full of pomegranate seeds, nuts, various fresh greens, radishes and so on, all topped with a lovely vinaigrette(you did have an option for ranch, as well). The added bison was overkill. I ended up just trying it out and the meat was fantastic and perfectly cooked. I can only imagine the deliciousness of those burgers. 5) For a fast, casual chain, I’m completely impressed, Roam. You nailed it with your menu offerings, taste and quality of ingredients. Keep up the good work! ** I actually thought Roam was a national chain, but my b! They have 3 locations all in the Bay Area!

If you’re looking for a quick bite for dinner in the Lafayette area that’s inexpensive but high in flavor and quality, Roam Artisan Burgers(RAB) is a great option. We were starving after visiting a friend at a rehab facility in Rossmoor after work, and needed good food FAST. We were unfamiliar with the area, so we used our trusty Unilocal app to find a good place. Thankfully Roam was still open, as it was after 8 pm when we were done visiting! We ordered at the counter and my husband and I both ordered beef burgers. My husband got the Classic, and I got the Heritage Burger which came with Aged Cheddar and Bacon. The patty was very juicy and had good flavor. Nice burger for about $ 10. And if you care to know where the beef is sourced, that info is on the board by the register. My friend ordered the Bison Burger as he wanted something leaner, and he enjoyed his burger as well. Other burger options include turkey, elk and veggie. They also have a wide variety of sauces(aioli, jalapeño relish, steak sauce, etc) and toppings(pickles, cheeses, fries, eggs, bacon, etc) that you can put on your burger, but beware that some will cost you extra. I ordered the Fry-fecta for the three of us to share, but I think I will pass on that next time. It came with Sweet Potato Fries, Russet Fries, and Zucchini and Onion Strings, but we all didn’t care too much for the Zucchini and Onion Strings. They were a little too crumbly to pick up and dip in ketchup. I really liked the sweet potato fries, so I may just order that by itself next time. They also have salads if you’re limiting your french fry consumption. As for beverages, they have house made artisanal sodas, bottled sodas, tea, kombucha, beer and wine. For dessert, they have Strauss Creamery shakes for you pleasure! And if you just can’t miss seeing a Warriors game on TV, that’s not a problem at Roam. They have televisions and you can watch the game there while noshing!

Fantastic burgers. Highly recommend either the Tejano burger or Pacific Blue. The only reason I give it 4 stars though is because I didn’t find it very filling. For a $ 10 burger, I’d like to completely full afterwards. Besides that, great atmosphere and great food.

Like the atmosphere here and came here for an early dinner around 4pm on a Sunday. Like the selection of food, wine and beer. We had the Tejano and Heritage burgers. The Tejano was good but think my Heritage didn’t receive the attention it should have. The burger patty tasted mostly like char. It also seemed a bit greasy as if there was too much Herbed mayo on the bun. Don’t get me wrong, I love a juicy messy burger. I also believe that the Heritage should have two patties to even out the meat/bun ratio(provided they aren’t mostly charred). Will have try this place again to see if it lives up to the hype.

Best burgers. We tired their veggie patty burger, I have to admit best veggie burger I ever had. They also have beer and wine.

We happened to grab a quick dinner here. The place reminds me of a spot in Connecticut. We both had the grass fed beef. My classic was good although a little greasy. I’m not sure what’s the size comparison between the bun and patty but noticed I had a lot of bread diameter after the patty. The fries seasonings-herb in particular didn’t do much for me. It just tasted like old herbs in a bottle sprinkled on top afterwards and without salt. He had a sunny side burger and didn’t have any complaints. I didn’t like the iced tea but thankfully, Starbucks is around the corner. They do not have regular fountain drinks. Interior is cute although not enough group seatings. One long shared table space in the middle. Noticed that the place is busy in the evenings. We would come here again. I’d like to try another burger style.

Yes, I will give this place 4 stars for a burger joint that has several selections of meat, and some great salads along with some various types of fries. Place is casual and usually a line is formed to order. You can order any of their burgers pre-set, or make one up on your own. The salads are really super and quite a meal in themselves. Grass fed beef, lower in fat than the regular burger chains for sure. My burger was tasty and cooked medium as I ordered. Fries were very tasty along with the salad made for a full meal. I will go back for sure when I need a burger hit.

If buying a $ 10 burger with no fries is in your budget, make Roam your next stop! The French and Fry is by far the most flavorful on the menu. I’ve tried the Chalet burger with crimini mushroom and the Tejano with tortilla strips in it and they lacked some kind of special seasoning/sauce. Maybe it’s because the French & Fry is just that good?!! The parm truffle fries are to die for. And the house made sodas are truly special. I’ve had both prickly pear and blood orange flavors and wished I had some vodka to make an epic cocktail. The employees taking your order at the front are super helpful and patient. I mean if you’re going to be spending $ 15 on a burger and fries you want to get it right. Right?! We also had the salad to try. It was colorful and fresh but really kind of bland. Wouldn’t order it again. But love that you can add on a burger skewer for people watching their carbs. The menu board lets you know where the beef, bison and other burger options are from. It says exactly which farm it’s from. I love supporting local farmers. I couldn’t give 5 stars due to the cleanliness. There are a ton of workers here and the tables weren’t getting wiped down or cleared. This is a problem when there’s limited/communal seating. Both times I’ve been here I’ve had to listen to some weird conversations because everyone is packed in there like sardines. Parking is metered(but takes credit cards). The car next to us had a ticket for going over their time. Just something to think about.

Honestly, this is probably one of the best burger joints I have ever eaten at. The burgers are a little on the small side, but they are worth the flavor and goodness you get with every bite. Not to mention they have a unique selection of burger meats(and burgers themselves), from Turkey to Bison. That adds some much needed variation to something so simple as a burger. I will say that their«Artisan Burgers» are truly a form of art. Verdict: 10⁄10 With my Seal of Approval

Yesterday we had an appointment in Lafayette, so we decided to come here for lunch afterward. I had seen it from the patio at The Cooperage when we’d eaten there and Tam mentioned it had good reviews. We arrived a bit after 12:30 and found no line. They offer burgers made from beef, turkey, bison and elk and you have multiple choices when it comes to preparation. There are also a variety of drinks, including shakes, kombucha and sodas. It’s a walk up to the counter, look at the menu on the wall and order kind of place. Then you take a number on a stand, sit down at a table and they bring the food to you when it’s ready. Alan and I both ordered the classic burgers, which come w/tomatoes, onions, lettuce, house-made pickles and their special sauce, which the nice guy at the counter described as being a thousand island-type sauce. Alan ordered his medium rare, w/o extra salt. I ordered mine rare. He also ordered the fry-fecta, which is a combination of sweet potato fries, regular fries and onion and zucchini strings, all w/o salt. We ordered iced tea to drink after being assured it was made there twice daily. Silverware, napkins, straws and condiments are at a separate stand by the door so you can choose what you need. The hamburgers arrived. They were cooked as ordered and were just the way I like mine, w/onion, pickles, tomatoes and lettuce. I added catsup and mustard and was good to go. It was a good burger. The fry-fecta was served piled high in a metal bowl w/two handles. I focused on my burger, so by the time I got to the fries they were cool. Alan says that’s on me, because they didn’t arrive that way. Even though they weren’t hot, they were crisp, greaseless and tasty. They needed salt, which is a running joke we have these days of the low sodium diet, but they were definitely prepared as ordered and they were good. We agreed they were fine hamburgers and fries and we’d return. When we were leaving there was a line of people waiting, so we timed it perfectly.

This place is so darn good. Seems like«Artisan Burger» joints are popping up all over the place, so it is becoming harder to differentiate. This place does it simply by serving up flavorful, well prepared, and ethically sourced food. The place wasn’t at all busy at prime lunch hour on a Thursday, and I don’t know how that compares to other days, but for me it meant that I could stroll right up to the bar and order right away. I’m off the red meat for the moment, so went with a turkey burger, which can be a gamble since at many places these are an afterthought. Here, though, they do them perfect. It was a flavorful and juicy and not overly thick. I ordered mine«Chalet style» which meant their sauce, swiss, and shrooms which were a perfect accompaniment… as were the perfectly cooked and seasoned sweet potato fries. I might try the veggie burger next time, since it gets rave reviews too. Service was quick and friendly. They have a nice selection of beers in bottle or on tap, as well as shakes and ice cream if your burger and fries didn’t quite fill you up. Prices are about where you’d expect given quality and location. I’m a fan!

Roam Artisan Burgers. They have salads and milkshakes as well. I love everything on the menu! I am so thankful for their gluten free options. I can finally eat fries worry free. Top notch service and quality food is what you will find here!

Can’t go wrong here. Ordered my usual elk burger on a heritage. The bacon was crisp, but it wasn’t as flavorful as I thought it would be – it’s supposed to be Apple smoked. I came right before the rush hour. The line started piling out the door around 6:30 pm. The staff is always on top of cleaning up the tables making room for people waiting for a seat. That is a con though, when it’s packed, it’s packed. I saw about 2 – 4 parties behind me ending up having to take out their order because there was not enough room for them to sit ! Also, they still don’t have their nutritional information. It can’t be that hard to figure out can it?

I am a truffle fries girl these days, and that is thanks to Roam’s delicious truffle fries. I think I could live on those truffle fries for months on end. I could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. But let us rewind a bit and actually talk about Roam aside from the amazing truffle fries. We went here for a late dinner, so the daughter ordered a BBQ beef burger and I got the French and fries veggie burger because truffle fries. The BBQ beef burger looked juicy and the daughter assured me it was awesome, but I did not see truffle fries so I was a wee bit suspicious. The veggie burger was more beet-based, it seemed like, and even though I was not really a fan of beets, I enjoyed every bite, especially since every bite came with truffle fries. The burgers are not the cheapest and the service was just alright, but I think I can forgive almost every small fault as long as there is amazing truffle fries in my mouth. The staff were slightly aloof, but they gave me truffle fries. The truffle fries were served by them, and they were the apples of my eyes on our visit because they served me those wondrous fries. Is someone going to dare me to «say truffle fries some more» yet? Because I would say truffle fries again and again. Roam’s truffle fries, that is. So come to Roam for the great burgers and the truffle fries. And maybe you would keep thinking and talking about their truffle fries.

Got there right at 11:30 so it was easy to get a table and order. You walk in, order and find a seat. Nice rustic ambiance. At the counter I asked the woman behind the counter what her favorites were and she chose the two I was looking at to begin with. The Tejano and Heritage, we ordered both with a side of parmesan truffle fries, and nice Drake IPA and the River City Root beer. Double yum. Everything was great. What caught my eye with the Tejano was the jalepeno relish and pepper jack cheese — I love a little kick. It wasn’t hot at all, but gave a subtle complexity of flavor I really enjoyed. I want to make a jalepeno relish this summer. With the Heritage: I love me a bacon and cheese burger and this had good depth, nice smokey flavor on the bacon — it wasn’t just an addition it really added to the flavor and went nicely with the parmesan truffle fries. For sure go — I was only disappointed that I was so full that I couldn’t try their passion fruit shake.

I was trying to find a place to nosh on after a long hike and well a morning gym session so I was ready to eat! I was looking around the area and saw Roam when we drove past it. Figured why not and well… I saw some Unilocal photos that really sealed the deal… All I can say is… Fry-fecta. That’s right. A pun-filled food item that grabs at the heart string. It’s a trifecta of fried goodness: russet potatoes, sweet potatoes, and shoe string zucchini. The shoe string was a bit more floury but I couldn’t help but keep picking at it. We also picked out the Farmer’s Market Salad and it was VERY fresh and really good The salad wasn’t too over dressed. It was a bit pricey, but you can tell in the quality that you’re definitely getting what you paid for. We also got the seasonal veggies which was asparagus in a light citrus oil and parmesan shavings. It was lovely to eat something warm! I know I know, we didn’t even get to eat the burgers, but what can I say? We had a veggie craving. The place had seating inside and out, self-serve water and condiments as well as a bar that had a few beers on tap. Parking is in a lot with parking meters. We opted to park a little further away and walked as to avoid the fees. Overall, not too bad, but whoa on the prices. I do wonder how the burgers taste, so I’ll be back for those.

I had the Tejano burger and it was lackluster. The only flavor I tasted were from the toppings. The beef patty was did not have any flavor at all. They have many artisan burger choices to choose from and various versions of fries. I hear the milk shakes are good but didn’t get to try any. Service is good as it is order at the counter and they bring to your table. If I were in the area, I may come back but wouldn’t make it a point to drive here.
