We ordered a thin crust and deep dish, two salads and the meatball app. The salads were ok, as was the deep dish. I think if our dinner wasn’t over $ 80! I would have been happier, but for that price I think it should’ve been excellent! I’m definitely sticking to Zachary’s where I can get a delicious deep dish and ceases salad for $ 30!

Not worth eating. Crust not cooked enough, sauce bland, very little cheese and topping. Give it a D– But, at least it is expensive.

After a somewhat unfortunate experience at the Santa Barbara location we came here to see how they compared. Thankfully this hostess was a lot better. Greeted us with a smile and told us our wait was about 20 minutes. When you first walk in you think the place is pretty small, however there is a room around the corner that is more intimate and allows a glimpse of the kitchen. There are also chalkboards under two flatscreen TVs that the kids can draw on while you wait. Deep dish is always the way to go. About $ 30 for a large(8 pieces). A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Delicious pizza. They let you add additional ingredients. I tried an italian beer which was pretty good. It reminded me of a Stella. Service was good. It’s always a good sign when the manager/owner is on site and makes his/her rounds to each table. I would come back.

Pizza is my friend. I’m a über fan of all types of pizza. Being born in the windy city, I like my deep dish. I went this past Monday because the organization that I volunteer for(SEED Lafayette… Yay!) was actually going to receive proceeds for the entire day’s sales in Patxi’s 52 Weeks of Giving. Every Monday, Patxi donates a portion of the entire days proceeds to a worthy organization. What I love about this is that there is no need for people to print out a flyer or mention that they are part of an organization/fundraiser. Food: got cheese slices for the kids with juices. Burrata appetizer — A big ball of burrata cheese rests on top of grape tomatoes with pesto. I ate this entirely by myself. Ordered a medium deep dish pizza with sausage. I could only eat one slice because I was stuffed. I do think that they freeze well and reheat well and that is what I normally do. Service: Very attentive Ambiance: three locations. Dining room, room with bar, outdoors. The dining room is a little loud. I think outdoor seating is really lovely on a nice day. And it’s fenced off so no chance of people walking into you. My only gripe: kids’ juices are $ 3/each. And a slice of cheese pizza is $ 3.25. The juice is pricey, the slice of pizza is totally reasonable. TIP: Call in your order before you get there so you don’t have to wait as long for your deep dish pie. I called 10 minutes before arriving and I really didn’t wait very long at all.

Been trying to get the fiancé to go here with me for quite sometime and since we were in the neighborhood, my Jedi mind trick finally sunk it’s hooks in. Muhahahahahaaaaa. So I read many good things about Paxti’s and my expectations for a good pizza were high. One of the nice things about our first experience was how every staff member genuinely greeted us(in a nice way of course). The ambiance is very cozy and comfortable. There’s a large bar area and a rear dining area where we were sat. Luckily for us we beat the crowd. So we decided to keep things simple and ordered our favorite pizza the margherita. Thin crust too. Yeah I know this place is known for the thick crust but we’re not big fans of thick crust pizza. We also ordered two beers. Dominic our waiter recommended me a great tasting seasonal beer. Good rec! The pizza looked great when it came out and man, that pizza I’m still thinking about! The fiancé and I agreed that the sauce was phenomenal. Yes, phenomenal. We kept talking about it throughout the meal. The cheese melted quite nicely and had the right amount too. And we also liked the crust a little bit better than Puzza Antica as the crust here was slightly thicker and held up the pizza a little bit better(I’m still a big Antica fan, don’t get me wrong). Service was awesome. Ask for Dominic. He was very professional. We had a funny experience too at this place while we were dining. A nice gay couple who we believe must’ve been on their first date sat next to us. It was utterly hilarious listening to these two trying to accommodate each other’s preferences while trying to get what they wanted too(a half n half pizza). For every suggestion, there was a counter suggestion. For every counter suggestion, there was yet another counter. This went on I kid you not for about 8 – 10 minutes! After we left, I said to my fiancé «I’ve never heard two guys take so long to order a pizza!» We both started cracking up because we were trying to recount the multiple permutations of pizza combinations they created in that 10 minutes. We couldn’t remember what they ordered either! Well I hope those two lovebirds enjoyed their pizza — whatever they ordered :)

After long out of town workday had one of the best pizza’s. Hand made fresh crust, fresh tomato basil sauce and mozzarella. I’m not a drinker but paired this with a corona. Memorable, relaxing meal in the hotel room. Will plan to stay in area on next business trip repeat the experience!

I had them just 1 time & I was impressed. The pizza was delicious!!! We had it delivered. Came hot & on time. I’ve had pizza from other places & can’t really say that it was that much better than the other places that I thought were also very good. However I would recommend this place.

«Politely Deceptive» is how I would classify my experience. The pizza and the service here are fine. My dissatisfaction stems from coming specifically before 6pm for the Happy Hour pricing(food and drink). When I was billed at full price and asked the waiter about the discrepancy I was informed that«Happy Hour is only available in the front room, didn’t they tell you? Sorry…» Seating location to receive Happy Hour is not noted on the menu and it is not on this location’s website description about Happy Hour. I’m steering clear for now and going to other locations until I get over being outsmarted of $ 9.00.

This was a great dining experience! lovely ambiance great service. Would recommend for date night or a family meal. Food is to die for! The manager John greeted us and asked how the meal was. Very nice gentlemen, attentive, accommodating, and very fun. Hey he even removed our plates when we finished and ordered coffee what a guy! I will defiantly be back here!

Patxi’s is AMAZING. I love to go on Friday’s and and see the manager, Brad. He is such a great guy and he is one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back. My boyfriend and I LOVE the bbq chicken pizza, it’s our go-to here. Great wine selection as well. I highly recommend Patxi’s pizza.

This is the most requested place our girls want to eat at. The pizza takes a while to cook, but they are great about putting the order for you ASAP(especially if you know what you want). We have fallen in the love with The Californian and the Matt Cain… Our solution is usually to order half and half and love that they let us. Both my girls especially enjoy the crust with honey on it at the end.

This review is specifically for the Manager. We have gone in several times and have always been so impressed by the way he goes out of his way to make us at home(we are always with a toddler). While other managers sneer at the prospects of kids this guy is a complete delight. We love coming here as he makes us feel at home and whenever we have questions or needs he is extremely attentive…

I have to start by saying I was initially impressed by the ambiance of this place. While it’s cold outside, it was cozy sitting at the bar with my husband for a quick bite. We ordered a pizza– half prosciutto & arugula and half Salcsiccia with added mushrooms. Warning: the prosciutto half of the pizza came with a salad piled high on top. I imagined the arugula baked with the pizza but instead it came fresh(which by-the-way, it states that on menu– my fault), along with radicchio and romaine. The other half came without the added mushrooms AND did not have the basil that was part of the description. The bartender noticed and gave us a side of basil which also had pieces of mint in it??? I HATE complaining but I had to say something after the bartender naively insulted me with his comments that were unrelated to my food but about my age. Me: ‘I didn’t realize there was a whole salad on top of this pizza.‘ bartender: ‘that’s radicchio’ Me:(in my head) ‘that was not on the menu.‘ Me: ‘there’s also romaine on here.‘ Bartender: ‘oh? Well when they place the toppings on the pizza, it’s next to the salad.‘ Me: ‘the side of basil that was suppose to come in the pizza also has mint in it.‘ Bartender: ‘I will let the GM know.‘ Done and done for the bartender and on to the next patron. No apology, no comps, no goodbye… nuthin’. And this is why I have problems with spending $ 100 for a snack in the suburbs. They get away with substandard service because there is no competition. Service not so good and food not so good. Food was not bad, but honestly not great. NOWAY in SF, or the great city of Chicago would a restaurant like this survive. Disappointed

So during my afternoon of Oakland with Richard and Judy K, they were telling me about all these Chicago-style pizza joints in the area, and this was one of their favorites. After dinner here I could see why. We got a deep dish pizzas with half and half toppings: one side a margherita style with just tomato, cheese and basil, and the other side that had meat and olives. I only sampled the meatless slices because I was doing my month of vegetarianism. I thought the pizza was great; the flavors were good and the crust was surprisingly not at all greasy so it kind of felt like you were eating healthy(yeah right). We also ordered yet more beers(after having had beers at two other places) and the combo was pretty hard to beat. The service was really nice too. I’m now a fan and definitely wouldn’t mind returning. Would also like to check out some of the other Chicago-style joints in the area too! STEPHJUDGEMENT: Good Chicago-style pizza in an upscale casual setting.

Ate here for dinner last weekend. It was an hour and a half until closing time so there was ample parking on the street. The entrance is on the right hand side of the restaurant. My boyfriend and I opted to sit outside at the side patio. I’m a sucker for pretty outside patio spaces. There were patio tables at the front of the restaurant and along the side. The side patio space looked prettier and felt a little bit more intimate than out front. Plus there were two outdoor heaters so that was pretty awesome since it had started to get chilly. We ended up ordering the burrata bruschetta, butter lettuce salad full order, and a 10″ favorite deep dish. The butter lettuce was the first item to come out. And it was so good. I’ve actually never had butter lettuce before so it was pretty refreshing trying a different type of salad greens. The buttermilk ranch was flavorful. I assumed it would be a thick creamy dressing but it was the opposite. It was creamy but thin. The dressing wasn’t too heavy either. And the crunchy pieces of bacon and blue cheese crumbles were a nice touch. So simple but so good. Next was the burrata bruschetta. I’ve never had bruschetta like this. It was a piece of burrata on top of a bed of lettuce and tomatoes, drizzled with the basil garlic parmesan pesto. The burrata was so creamy and fresh. It literally melts in your mouth. Eating that made me realize that I’ve never had fresh burrata before because it never tasted like this and with the same texture. The pesto sauce was so good. And don’t get me started on the focaccia either. I must have been deprived my whole life because I’ve never had focaccia this good either. It was soft and buttery. Lastly, our deep dish came out. A 10″ gives you 6 slices of pizza. I haven’t had deep dish in a long time so I don’t have anything to compare it to but Patxi’s deep dish is pretty darn good. Plus I love the fact that they left honey on the tables so you can drizzle it on the crust and eat it like a puff pastry. I hate eating the crust but after finding out about why they had honey on the tables, I ended up eating all my crust. It’s such a great idea to utilize the whole pizza and get those non pizza crust eaters to actually eat it.

First time visitor and can’t wait to come back. Long version: Despite being a server’s worst nightmare, the staff and management were so nice to us. Out toddler grew impatient and took a lap around the restaurant and straight into the kitchen. They gleefully helped us catch him and return him to his seat with a smile on their faces, and jokes about their own kids. There was a small mix up on our order but it was rectified instantly and the meal was made complimentary without even asking or complaining. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. On top of this excellent customer service the food was fantastic. The meatball appetizer was fantastic and the BBQ chicken pizza tasted amazing even with it being rushed out to us. I look forward to returning here without the kids and really enjoying the experience!

I frequently have lunch here with friends. Oh, my. For quicker turnaround time, they have lunch special to order that is hard to beat-one slice of deep dish or regular, Caesar salad, and a drink. The special of the day pizza ingredients change, and that exposes me to try new things. They offer a choice of one with meat or vegetarian. There are untold ways to screw up a Caesar salad, but Patxi’s does it just right, and the lemonade drink is authentically sour-not syrupy packaged. If you really want to pig-out, or take some home some, then the whole pie is the way to go. Day old deep dish pizza tastes even better, later. One thing the waiter suggested I do was drizzle some honey along the crust. The crust stands on its own, without anything to add. BUT, if you’ve never done this, I suggest you indulge yourself for the pleasure of it. Taking a tag line from Lay’s chips, you can’t eat it like this just once.

Great pizza but ordering and delivery is a nightmare. The last time i ordered a pizza from paxti’s, they delivered the wrong pizza. Frustrating, but i can understand mistakes happen. However, tonight’s lack of customer service is unforgiveable. I ordered on-line by putting in my telephone number and re-ordering my last order which is a five topping pizza. However, when i received my pizza, i received a plain cheese pizza. I called to explain the website had made a mistake but i had to wait ten minutes before John, the manager had time to call me back. Instead of quickly resolving the problem by simply apologizing and making a new pizza, John insisted that they had made the correct pizza. Really??? I reordered the same pizza(5 topping) I always order and yet they made the right pizza(a disgusting plain cheese pizza)? John was not willing to take responsibility for their mistake. Instead, he offered me a «discount» if i ordered the correct pizza. The only problem was that I had already paid for one pizza so i sure as hell wasn’t going to pay for a second. Paxti’s needs to fix their website and train their managers in customer service before i will ever order from them again. Life is too short and there are too many other good pizza restaurants around to waste my time on Paxti’s.

Thanks to a Bart shut down during commute hour we were told to get off train and wait for bus. No bus came. Well, I am waiting(with about a 1000 other people) in the hot ass sun. Did I mention we were in a heatwave? My waiting lasted 10 minutes until I remembered where I was… Lafayette! Thank God for walking distance bars and restaurants! Sweating and irritable, I asked Siri to take me to a bar that’s close by(and air conditioned) and that’s where I landed. While I wait for my husband to pick me up I ordered the Tre Porcellini(large) and two IPAS. Pizza took a little while to come out of the kitchen so good thing I did it first thing. Pizza was fantastic. Loved the crust! Lots of families and repeats that I could see. Manager and bartenders knew everyone. Will def come back when in the area, or have a stuck train.

Best Chicago style pizza I had for a while! I’ve had pizza in Chicago, NYC and Zachary’s and this was definitely top 3! I have one slice leftover for dinner tonight and I can’t wait to inhale it. Yes, it’s that good. I had Patxi’s bookmarked for the longest time and I’m less than a mile away over the weekends since my boyfriend lives nearby. After a nice 4 mile walk with my friend at the Lafayette Reservoir a pizza was well deserved. I was ecstatic that there wasn’t a wait on Memorial Day and we were seated right away! Between 3 people we ordered the Caesar salad and the large Chicago style Special pizza. There were about 10 large slices. Go big or go home! We also ordered an alcoholic beverage each :) Caesar salad $ 11 — well dressed, tasty and flavorful, fresh romain, whole anchovies, large pieces of croûton. I loved it! I let my bf choose the salad and thought Caesar was a bit boring but I was so wrong! Special pizza $ 30 — amazing! Made with generous amounts of cheese, extra marinara sauce, fennel sausage, green bell peppers and onions. I had about 3 large slices and ate every bit, even the crust. Overall, I had a great experience, food was delicious and every bite I took left me wanting more. The service was great and I’ll definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

I’d been excited to go here for a while, since my vegan workmate suggested it. I wasn’t expecting anything super amazing, since this is not really a vegan joint, but it was a bit disappointing overall. We sat outside, which was nice. The staff was pretty good too. However, our pizza took a full 35 minutes to come! A bit odd for a not very busy lunchtime. And when it did, the crust was clearly burnt. The pizza itself was fine, and almost exactly what I had expected — lots of tomatoes and diaya cheese — Zachary’s in Rockridge do one that’s nearly identical. The bill also had some errors on it(free drinks due to Unilocal check in). The pizza also cost $ 24 which seems an awful lot for a 10″(OK when split, but still). Anyone who’s read my reviews will not be surprised to learn I turned down the $ 1PBR offer. Looks like a full bar inside, but I didn’t check out the beer selection. Finally, I’m unlikely to go back for overpriced, OKish pizza that takes forever to come. I’d rather go to Conga Lounge(aka Pizza Rustica) in Rockridge for vegan pizza. Update: The manager did contact me, and apologized and offered to fix the problems, which I declined.
