Horrible experience in emergency room at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center. At about 10:30 pm I spoke with a nurse and was told I need to be seen right away. Got to the hospital around 11:30 pm. Sat for almost an hour with acute abdominal pain, nausea, fever and chills. Actually curled up in chair in waiting room. No one was admitted for the first 45 minutes. Ok. They’re an emergency room. HOWEVER, 2 – 3 Patients who arrived after me were seen first! Susan, a registered nurse in the emergency department explained that they were taken ahead of me because they had abdominal pain.
Really? What about my acute pain.
And I was there first. What the heck?
Actually left and got care elsewhere.
Really pathetic excuse for triage and emergency room.
