Rudest staff ever. Checked into the hotel having booked a year early for grad. The front desk staff told me they oversold the room– even though I booked A YEAR in advance. Anyway, the staff was sooooo curt and rude to my dad. He was smiling and trying a make good conversation. No need to be rude or treat people that way WHENYOUWORKINHOSPITALITY. And don’t get me started on the room. Please take your money and go elsewhere

We get to the the hotel about 90 minutes before check in. There is a women working the front desk that clearly is busy doing other things and does not want to take the time to check me in. When she finally gets done looking everywhere for the paper she can not find(it was right in front of her), she takes my name. She so «kindly?» informs me the room is not ready and is being cleaned. Generally understandable, however it’s clear the hotel is for the most part vacant. And given that I had been traveling for the better part of 24 hours, all I wanted was to be checked into my room and SLEEP. She tells me we have the last single room and she can not help me… In comes the saving grace of the moment, the trainee goes up stairs and comes down to tell us the room will be ready in 5 minutes. WOW, thank you so much trainee. It really isn’t that hard to give good customer service. We get up to the room and it reeks of smoke. It is labeled a non-smoking room but it is on the top floor and it has clearly been a smoking room in years past. I overlook this foul misdeed because it was $ 65 a night. UPDATE: We get back to the hotel around 1:00am and I turn the heater on. As I turn it on the front cover falls off and the air intake is covered with a thick layer of filth which falls off and spits all over us and our bed –GROSS! I go down to the front desk to resolve this situation and the night manager is super sweet. I explain what happened and she says she has another single room exactly like my current room but on the first floor and she will put me in it. I express my shock to her, as the day front desk manager told me there were no more single rooms available. Caught the day manager in a big lie! Unfortunately, we move into the new room but the door will not close. We start to laugh, as the twilight zone unfolds in front of us, lol. UPDATE: I go to the front desk manager one last time to let her know the door to our hotel room does not close and she is super apologetic. I tell her how the day manager told us one thing and it was clearly a lie. I also share with her that I am showing my husband Lafayette for the first time and so far the Days Inn has let us down. On top of all that we are here to celebrate my 29th birthday with my family. The night manager is amazing and puts us in a suite that is clean, not smoky, no filthy air conditioning unit and the door shuts! THANKYOU.

If the price was any higher, than my rating would probably be 2 stars. However, having only paid $ 120 for 3 nights, I’m willing to rationalize: 1) the slightly smoky smell in our non-smoking room, 2) burn holes in the comforter, 3) marked-up wallpaper, 4) bleached-to-heck towels and sheets(better sanitized than not, I suppose), 5) slightly uncomfortable bed, and 6) outdated décor. It was a step up from a Super 8 or other comparables, and felt safer. The lobby and entry area were very nice, and looked more updated than the room itself. Any hotel staff we ran into were cordial and helpful. The continental breakfast was also larger than expected; not a lot of hot foods to choose from, but a wide variety of pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, etc. If you want to save money, you just have to keep your expectations realistic.

SMOKEYSMOKEYSMOKESMOKE!!! I stayed here last weekend in a room that I was told was«non-smoking.» Apparently, this meant it had been a smoking room for 35 years, and then suddenly decreed«non-smoking.» However, no part of the room(carpet, drapes) had been replaced! Stepping inside the room was like stepping into an ashtray. I can’t tell you how horrible it was to be nose-assaulted all night log by this stench. I didn’t sleep at all! I can’t believe a hotel would think this is okay. See, in America right now, you can live in the past or the future. The future might include cities like New York, Chicago, and LA, where smoking is banned and, obviously, having a place of business that smells like old cigarette smoke is not okay. Obviously not. A priori, that’s not cool. But then you can time-travel into the past by going to rural Hoosierland, where people still smoke, and the stench of old cigarette-rot is just something you’re supposed to put up with in a room you paid $ 84.00 for. Staying in this hotel made me decide that my time-travelling days are over. My nose is just too sensititive. From now on, I will stay in the future. Other than the overpowering stench, the room was more or less fine. There WERE mysterious cruor stains on some of the towels, however.(«Rain on the scarecrow, blood on your towels.» Sing it with me, Hoosiers…) In conclusion, if you have to stay here, be sure to ask: «Was my room EVER a smoking room?» Because if you don’t, you may find yourself nasally-violated for the duration of your stay.

It feels like a retirement home and smells like an old public library. Rooms are decorated in early f*ck. Stay somewhere else.

We were able to get a non-smoking queen bedroom for only $ 46(after taxes) a night through which is a pretty good steal for us around the Purdue University area. A bit far from the Purdue campus but overall in a very hotel populous area. Service was friendly enough and this was a really great deal through Hotwire. Complimentary breakfast was decent with bagels, muffins, donuts, cereal with coffee, juice, and milk. I wish that there was more than one elevator but it was manageable. Having a microwave and fridge in each room is definitely a huge convenience factor and makes up for the small rooms. My son loved the large window seat where he actually ended up sleeping for the night.

$ 46 a night at . BESTVALUEFORTHEMONEY. We needed a 1 night, clean, pit stop that would let us relax and rest. This is a newer Days Inn, clean, and basic. The hotel room was pleasantly the correct size for a «single room» with only 1 queen bed. Just enough room for the bed, end tables, wardrobe, TV, and built in desk. Nice surprises: –A large window seat that allowed us to stack our bags on, play music from our laptop, or just enjoy the view. –The window in the room opens, and we were able to nap and enjoy the sound of rain outside. –There is a Meijer just across the main road, where we were able to pick up some cheese, bread, and wine and stay in for the night and keep our supplies in the mini fridge. One problem: the internet was not working during our entire visit.
