We ordered BBQ and three sides for 80 people. We were pleased with the quality and quantity of food. I was worried we wouldn’t have enough but there was more than enough food. We gave away leftovers. I suggest they always leave business cards when they deliver the food. Many folks asked us about the caterer. It would have been nice to have business cards to pass out.

What a great experience! I called and left a message over the weekend & had a return call from Amanda first thing(7am) Monday morning! Amanda was great and had great suggestions on what to order when I told her my budget — Down to the best sauces to go with my order & buns as well! It was ready as promised & Lisa and everyone were helpful & happy. The pulled pork was well seasoned & tasty and the beef brisket was even better. Our 30+ guests were over the moon about the quality of the product — Several of whom were self-proclaimed BBQ aficionados(including the birthday boy for whom the party was being thrown). The price & quality cannot be beat and I will definitely be back again. Thank you! Teddy was VERY surprised &VERY happy!

We bought a 91-lb. pig last weekend and also rented the roaster for a big party that we threw. The pig was excellent and I found the price to be reasonable. The person who helped me was very friendly and accommodating. I would use their service again if the need comes up.

Owners are rude and their product is not as good as others. They are very very expensive and they are not helpful if you have a problem which we did. Whatever you do don’t use them

Arapahoe Hog Roasters exceeded any expectation from start to finish. I live in Santa Monica, CA and was trying to secure catered food for a mountain home wedding outside of Golden, CO for my nephew’s wedding. The arrangements were made last minute and we also secured one person to assist in carving and serving the roasted pig. From the first call to last, the folks at Arapahoe were professional and extremely helpful. Dustin, who I understand runs the business, followed up with phone calls and emails to answer follow-up questions. Lisa spent the most time helping with this order and I was very happy when she was assigned to be our carver/server at the wedding. Lisa was lovely, so personable, helpful and went out of her way for us. But here’s the best part — THEFOODWASEXCELLENT! I do not eat meat, but most folks did and they raved and raved about the roasted pork. I heard over and over that it was the best roasted pig ever! The bride confided that she wished they could take some leftovers — not possible because left for honeymoon that evening. As a non-meat eater, I was able to enjoy the deilcious potatoe salad, coleslaw, roasted corn salad, green beans and the BBQ sauce. The baked beans had pork in them, but I also heard over and over that the beans were the best! Additionally, Lisa has a most beautiful demeanor and smile — was cheerful and professional through-out the event. The host and hostess of the wedding(the home was not my nephews), were initially concerned that a roasted pig meant grease and mess — NOTSO! They loved the food, service and Lisa so much, wondered where I found such an amazing resource, and plan to use this company in the future for events at their home. As the out-of-state aunt, it was wonderful to receive such high praise for the quality of food and service. I would recommend this company to anyone seeking to make their event special. A most well-deserved THANKYOU to Arapahoe Hog Roasters!

We thought we would like to try an organic approach to buying grass-fed beef and bought a ¼ side from a local rancher near Peyton and this is the place they use. Well, one of the first cuts we unwrapped had cow hair on it. Yes, you heard me right. What a horrible experience. Needless to say we’ve gone back to just buying from Costco and Whole Foods.

We have used Arapahoe Meat Co. for many years, at least 7+. However, it seems that ever since it’s been taken over by the kids, the quality has slipped. We’ve given feedback and they said they would do better but this is the third year in a row where the elk brats we order are not properly sealed off at the ends… they are simply barely twisted so that when you defrost them, they are completely open ended or end up that way as soon as they are not frozen. Therefore, all the juices run out of the meat regardless of how careful you are to grill the brats, leaving them dry and tasteless. Every single packet of the brats last year were like this and, so far this year, we have had 3 packs since December 2012 like this… luckily the elk burger is simply ground up and put into sealed bags, so they are ok. They stopped using metal staples to keep the burger meat sealed so that was a benefit since before you couldn’t simply pop the bag into the microwave for a quick defrost… Also, last year the elk pepperoni was so fatty that taking a bite was like eating a tube of lard. It was so bad that we ended up throwing out all the elk pepperoni we ordered, which ends up wasting the meat that we worked hard to hunt and bring in. This year, the meat tastes a little better but the casing is so tough on it that you can’t eat it. You end up chewing on a wad of casing at the end of your bite, which ruins the eating enjoyment. Sad to say we will more than likely be taking our elk et al meat someplace else this year. The convenient location does not make it worth the money wasted on meat that gets«ruined.» Burger meat is still ok so far, but that is usually only 1⁄3 of what we order… it’s too bad, this used to be a terrific butcher…

Arapahoe Hog Roasters catered a Halloween party at my friends space last night. Simply put, they cooked the most delicious pig I’ve ever tasted. They did a great job slow roasting the pig, and the presentation was nicely done. They also provided us with additional meat and a delicious selection of BBQ sauce. The 2 caterers were totally awesome, considering this was probably the weirdest Halloween event they’ve done(15 bands, art show upstairs, haunted house, live alligator, lots of kids who were probably too young to be out so late, etc). I’m sure they were in some serious culture shock, but they played along to the event very well.

I wish Unilocal would let you give zero stars. Stay far away from this business. If you’re thinking about using them, do yourself a huge favor and go elsewhere. The owner, Dustin, is incredibly rude and irresponsible. We rented a roaster from him that failed, leaving our fundraiser event without enough food. They don’t answer their«Emergency» numbers that they give you as a safeguard. The roaster was a safety hazard and the gas leak could have caused a huge accident at an event with 200 people in attendance. Regardless of what you want to use Arapahoe Hog Roasters for, you need to know that if any issues come up, they will not take responsibility for them. I called them and wanted to have a calm discussion about the day’s events to see if we could come to a conclusion that would make both sides happy. Dustin began yelling at me and told me to «go call my f’n lawyer if I wanted to do something about it.» Shortly after this, he hung up on me. Now that’s great service. Not to mention, this event that we were putting on was to benefit children and adults with mental and physical disabilities. This company couldn’t care less about anything like this in their own community. People like this should not be allowed to run businesses where they deal with the public. There are other businesses that do what they do in this area, and save your event — go with them. Here’s one I found that I’ll be using next time.
