We ordered«kabob koubideh» and«halim bademjan» for main course and«bastani akbar mashti» and«faloodeh shirazi» for dessert. All of them were delicious and first quality. The place is quiet and trational style. the staff are nice and friendly. Definitely we will go again.

It’d been several years since I ate here, but it was tastier than I remember. The dishes are still plentiful and prices reasonable. I also noticed how happy the staff seemed to be even though it was so busy!

Great kabob and quick service, I enjoyed the home made hot sauce they have. I had the gyro that came with a refreshing cumber salad and rice.

Our first, but not our last, visit! Fresh food, great flavors and substantial servings! Fluffiest basmati rice — warm pita — smooth hummus — great kebabs — my fish(salmon) was served with a light, fresh sauce! What more is there to say except, «Make your way over!»

Be warned – this place is so popular that parking is tight and you might have to stand just inside the door once you get there before you can get seated. But it’s worth it. The food we had was wonderful. I had two kabobs served with perfectly prepared saffron rice. My dining companion had a whole cornish game hen in a preparation made with cherries. Both were great. But the real highlight was desert. Try the Persian ice cream! Flavored with saffron and rose water and sprinkled with chopped pistachios. The service is outstanding. Everyone who passed our table cordially asked what they could get for us, and the waitress who took our order explained all of the foods and kept checking on us.

I have been coming here since before it was the Persian Grille(remember the diner?). Interestingly, when the first owner of the P.G. sold to the current owner, the present owner had been his chef! And I felt that the food under the new owner became even tastier, though the menu never changed. If you want, specify whatever meat you desire for the kubideh — these are the friendliest, most accommodating folks I know. They can get very busy on the weekends, but the food and cooking quality never diminish from 100%. I’ve tried other Persian food in restaurants and take-out places. None compares!

I’ve been eating at the Persian Grill sine more than 20 years ago. The owner back then was Iranian, and the food, especially the kebabs were wonderful. There was music by Arnik livening the atmosphere. Since a change of ownership a few years ago, things are a little different. The kubideh is made with ground beef instead of veal, and the pungent spices are either missing or diminished. The result is a kabob that tastes more like a hamburger. The wonderful, fluffy, fragrant basmati rice is still great, albeit a little less fluffy and steamy. But I still love the place, and I keep hoping they’ll find another gifted chef like the one they had before. I think it’s the best in the Philadelphia area.

Persian here, this place is real deal. Although it is not by Persian people but it is the closet to authentic as it can get. Persian ice cream is especially good.

My wife and I returned to this place for another delicious meals. However, this time we were not so pleased with overall experience. My wife ordered kabobs with beef steak and chicken and she received both beef instead. I ordered Shereen Polo with Jasmine rice and mine came with orange and carrot rice instead. The service we received from Helia was just OK. She wasn’t attentive and did not take the correct order from us or did not verify the meal we ordered.

Very solid kabobs, no matter which kind. Even the chicken kabobs were nice and moist on the inside while perfectly charred on the outside — something I’ve found in only few places in the Philly area. We tried beef, lamb, and chicken, and they were all very tender and flavorful. The rice that came with the kabobs was unflavored, but it was good for keeping sodium levels in check and a good complement to the saltier parts of the dish. If more flavoring is absolutely necessary, they do have condiments on the table. The best part of the rice was that there were crispy pieces which added texture to the dish. I wasn’t a huge fan of the pita and butter they offered at the beginning, but everything else was fresh and well-made. The dessert combo of saffron ice cream and faloodeh was very interesting and tasty. The service was good and the dining space is lovely. Although the portions are significant, the food did not feel too heavy. The distance to the restaurant is probably not walkable or roller-bladeable from Center City Philly unless you have sturdy ankles and a lot of time, but there is conveniently a parking lot for people with cars.

It’s expensive, that’s my only complaint. But the staff is friendly and the food is delightful! The Persian tea with the rock candy inside is a lovely touch. Also delicious is the rosewater ice cream for dessert! But what I really love is the Fesenjan(a chicken-pomegranate-walnut stew), though the serving size could be bigger, and Chicken Soltani. Really really delicious all around.

One of the best Persian restaurant in Philadelphia. Kabobs, baba ghanush and hummus are delicious. Baklava and Persian Ice Cream made out of Saffron is must.

This was my first experience with Persian food and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. However I was pleasantly surprised. The hummus and pita bread was quite delicious though the hummus portion could have been a bit larger. The Kabab Koubideh was delicious! The meat was spiced just right. The Kabab Koubideh is served with basmati rice and it was also very good. I think I’ve found a new lunch spot.

Unfortunately a very long wait… Previous reviews we read just didn’t pan out for us… My wife did enjoy the rice… but I ended up with the rest of her dinner… Oh well, just not for us

I will say this and I still believe it doesn’t describe how good the food is here. If I could choose my LAST meal on this planet it would be from the Persian Grill. Being at Temple University and eating only cafeteria food makes you lose your sense of quality food. But coming here brought me back to life, I loved everything from here. Persian tea, maast-o-musir, barg kabob, and sabzi polo mahi. I know for a fact I wouldn’t tell anyone else to pick a different spot around the Lafayette Hill to Philadelphia region to get authentic and superb Persian food. Mashallah I love this place and hope it stays forever!

Another great low brow food find. The place is a little bit dive-y but that’s not a bad thing. I waited for a few minuets to be seated when 3 locals came in and passed right by me. I’m a quick study so I just sat down them the hostess /waitress came by with a menu. It’s a simple menu for a Mediterranean place and he locals sitting near me mentioned the owners and cook is Nepalese. My Chicken Gyro was fabulous! I was expecting the chewy pita Noam to a Gyro but they use the lighter pocket pita however gyro was rolled like an open end burrito. There is no Falafel appetizer or side order but upon request they added some to my chicken Gyro which bright the dish up a notch. The gyro was served with some Basmati rice and cucumber salad. All for $ 10 bucks. The place is a bit dark and dated the gaudy purple seat cushions and matching purple paper place mats with orange paper napkins says style is out the window but they more than make up for it with pleasant sift and accurate service and above all excellent food at a fair price. I would go back here and absolutely recommend this place to other Unilocalers.

Easily the best Persian restaurant in the Philadelphia area. Great Kubideh. Great Chelo! Coming here for 10+ years! P. S. Try their Persian ice cream dessert.
