Stopped in to get some brunch to go. Purchased the lox(salted) and cream cheese with tomato, onion, cucumber and lettuce. On a bagel. $ 10 Cream cheese was almost non — existent, lox tasted to be almost dredged in salt. I have had better purchased from BJ’s. Onion seemed to be around awhile as it was very pungent.

Fantastic food! The dinners, such as brisket, roast chicken and salmon, are so delicious, that to add fabulous soups such as their cabbage soup or matzoh ball soup just makes everything perfect. Good service also, with very friendly waitresses. Breakfasts are also wonderful. Try their challah French toast or fancy omelets. Can’t wait to go back!!! Barb L.

UPDATEDAGAIN — ONTHERIGHTTRACK! It seems the management is reading the reviews because this latest visit was wonderful. The wait staff was extra friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious. The background music was pleasant and not competing with our conversation. We are so pleased to see these improvements. It makes for a win-win situation. It’s good for the business. It’s good for the customers. We will definitely be back! Keep up the good work!

Good knishes, definitely had dishes. Liked the corn beef. It tasted fresh and I believe they make it in house.

Returned and the omelettes are brown and portions decreased. Waitresses are irritable. Will not return anymore.

Knishes and Dishes has been our go-to spot in Lafayette Hill for breakfast. Service has been really fast and the food has always come out delicious! We got a coupon to try their dinner menu — buy one get one half price on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, so we decided to try it out. Well, I have to say, I don’t think we will ever be back for dinner. I think we came on an off night because the waitress was literally running around trying to keep up with all the tables. When we came in, we were asked to sit anywhere. There were no clean tables, so we picked one with just an empty bread basket and a tip left on the table. We weren’t given menus or anything. After about 15 minutes, a bus boy came by and handed us menus and got us drinks. Then we waited and waited and waited, feeling invisible. The waitress kept coming by to talk to other tables but didn’t acknowledge us at all. If she had just acknowledged that we were waiting and let us know what was going on, we would have waited longer. More customers came in after us and we noticed those people had already ordered and had soup at their tables! After about 15 more minutes, we heard a table behind us get the waitress’s attention and ask if they could order. She told them she’d be right back after helping another table(not ours — customers who had come in after us). At that point, we decided to give up. We left a dollar on the table for our soda and walked out — no one acknowledged we were leaving. We went to From the Boot for a delicious Italian dinner in the same shopping center. It was more expensive, but well worth their exceptional service. We’ll be back to Knishes and Dishes for breakfast, but won’t be back for dinner.

I’ve been living in Lafayette Hill for over 3 years and have passed this place nearly every day. We finally stopped in for some take-out breakfast & were pleasantly surprised by the menu. We ordered bacon, egg & cheese sandwiches on bagels & it was ready in less than 5 minutes & tasted delicious. We’ll definitely be back.

I really was hoping this place would be better, but it’s just your average deli. I love a plain bagel with cream cheese and I ordered that while everyone else got a full breakfast. Service was not that great and when my bagel arrived, it included a package of Philadelphia cream cheese. When I’m eating at a deli, I prefer a slab of cream cheese. I was really bothered by the single serve cream cheese. Someone else at my table had the cream cheese the way I like it, so I stole a bit of theirs.

Really a hit or miss Jewish deli. Breakfast is up and down as well. Some of the specials are awesome, but their normal menu is uninspiring. Service was good though.

Unfortunately, the deli has slipped again. After 3 – 4 somewhat disappointing meals, I have to reduce the rating. Servers who don’t know what they are doing. Really bad tasting water. Eggs that taste like onions and other foods that are cooked on the same grill. I don’t know what it is about this location but no one seems to be able to just run a good deli here. The hours are now reduced which is usually a sign that the end is near.

This has become our new Sunday breakfast spot. I have a 4 month old and a 3 year old and this place is very kid friendly. Breakfast food is solid. Good portions and friendly staff. Omlettes, pancakes, breakfast meats are all as good as you’ll get in the area. We’ve had a great server everyone Sunday since this place has become out go-to. Haven’t been there for lunch or dinner, but the breakfast is first class.

Working in Conshohocken and had a hankering for cormed beef so I Unilocaled up this place its diner meets deli and boy it a goodin! Thi girls at the counter are the only short coming, first answering the phone like the were home not at a business then acting unprofessional in general but they did their jobs done. The busy Friday lunch service was covered by 2 fast and freindly waitress quickly redeeming the competency level. I ordered a soup sandwich and Kinish. My waitress brought out my meal in stages. Soup and appetizer then my sandwich, all apot on exactly like i expected. I love it when a meal is served likr everybody knows what they’re doing. I got the Maven, with corned beef and pastrami, i think they make them in hoise becasuse the brine was unique and had a hint of ginger or cinnamon. It was terrific on great rye. I also had the yummy Kreplach soup and a potato knish. All hois made and terrific. I highly recoment you try this joint.

Every restaurant has a bad day, but our visit to Knishes & Dishes was awful. The service was painfully slow. The food arrived and very little was correct. One of us ordered pancakes and the looked like they were barbequed. Another ordered an omlette that was also over done. We will probably go back because they have no competition in the area. Ugh!

Been there 4 or 5 times for breakfast and it worth it .food was good and service was very good but(the ol but) the last time I was there on a sat afternoon and wanted breakfast. What a waste of time bacon, potatoes were leftover from morning and the omelet was not much better. At least the toast was fresh and that was all

It’s hard to believe that a decent Jewish deli finally exists at this location after decades of failed attempts by others. My 4+ rating is based on two visits(four meals). This place serves flawlessly cooked poached eggs and home fries that are downright scrumptious although some might consider them too greasy. I could eat an entire meal of nothing but their home fries! Corned beef and pastrami sandwiches are excellent and appropriately sized for the price($ 7.95). Be sure to ask for their New York style mustard. It’s awesome and at least 3 times more tasty than Dijon. An accompanying fat pickle and homemade potato chips were very good. This is a upbeat and welcoming, tiny establishment with a parking lot that is frequently jammed unless one visits during non-peak hours. Their take-out deli products, including muffins and bagels, are excellent. Not cheap, but excellent. Lastly, this place is clean. Lack of cleanliness was my biggest gripe against former owners. Knishes has received an attractive facelift and it is clean.

If I could give a negative amount of stars I would gladly do so … My family chose Knishes to cater a small lunch after my grandmothers funeral. Jay the manager was very reassuring that they would take care of everything in our time of grief. Well much to our disappointment not only were they late to be delivered but the sandwiches were served on stale bread. We ordered a tray for 40 people and let me tell you if we got provided with 41 plates I would have been shocked. They sent exactly 40 plates 40 napkins etc… Who does that. Especially for the money that they charged. When I let the manager know how I felt after out gathering he assured me he would talk to the owner and get back to me. One week goes by … Nothing. So I simply called back and said that I understood they didn’t seem to care about the situation. He again assured me with some excuse that the owner was sick blah blah blah and we would get a gift certificate with in 2 days … Well here we are another week later and Nothing! So thanks Knishes and Dishes for takin care of everything lol I would have been better off if I made everything myself and not been 500 $ in the hole!!!

Visited multiple times for sunday brunch. Service was very timely and made sure we had everything we needed. Forgot a few things but was quick to get them for us. Food was well prepared and more than enough for two people. I was thoroughly happy with the service and food.

I love Knishes and Dishes! As a Lafayette Hill resident, I’ve watched this space turn over multiple times, and I was thrilled to hear that the newest owners are the same owners as the Lafayette Hill Market, a quality establishment(see my review of their ridiculously good hoagie). I’ve now been here about a half dozen times, and I always enjoy the experience. I highly recommend coming here for breakfast. If you are into smoked fish(lox, whitefish, etc), this is the place for you. They also have good standard breakfast fare, like pancakes and eggs. I should also note that the coffee is pretty good, too. Very reasonable prices. I think that a short stack of pancakes is less than $ 4. My favorite is the nova lox or the whitefish salad on a toasted onion bagel(around $ 8). The kippered salmon is also pretty awesome. If you come in for lunch, definitely try something from the deli. My wife got the corned beef special last time we were here, and it was spectacular, a truly memorable sandwich. I also recommend the matzo ball soup and the kreplach soup. The staff is also very nice. The service is quick and efficient, so you can be in and out quickly if you’re in a hurry.
