My wife and I drove down to the Rialto 8 to see a movie that wasn’t being shown in Gainesville(The Wind Rises). I was happy to see that it was a smaller theater with some personality. Little theaters like this put some of the fun back into going to the movies for me. The theater is in one of the town squares in The Villages not far off of 441, and the ticket prices are about what you’d expect(currently $ 9 adult/$ 7 senior). The lobby is decorated like a small town square with a tree in the center and little faux porches and windows above the concession stands. I guess this is a Villages thing, but it was cute. The concession prices were okay for a theater(around $ 11 for a large popcorn and large coke). The theaters themselves were relatively small, with small screens and limited seats. The chairs were comfortable with a slight rocking chair feel. You need the ability to lean back some because the screens are really a bit too high considering how close all the chairs are. That is really my only complaint about this theater. Great personality, incredibly clean facilities, and reasonable prices have me hoping that I have another excuse to drive down to come to this nice little theater.

The setting plays a huge part in the favorable review. Right off the center square in The Villages Spanish Springs area this theater’s décor is superb. It is always clean and usually there is no rush for tickets.
