This restaurant was great in all aspects, the food tasted great, the service excellent, the prices were reasonable, and it was a nice clean atmosphere. We went with a family of four and ordered steaks and baked haddock… everything delicious. We would definitely go back.

Finally decided to check this place out after seeing lots of good feedback. We almost decided not to after taking a quick glance around as it was very empty and the décor appeared a bit dated. We went ahead anyway knowing that it was the quiet season and the reviews were all good. We ordered the Prime Rib and a daily special they had which was a Filet with some nice additions. The service was great and very friendly. We sat in the lounge area which was not too busy. The menu is very good with several selections but not to the point that they are trying to appease everyone. Very typical«old school» Steakhouse menu. We had the house salad as one of our sides and selected the homemade blue cheese dressing. The rolls were served warm and fresh. Our main course showed up right on time and cooked perfect. The Prime Rib was the best I have had in many years and the portion reminded us of the Flintstones. It was huge and it was only the Mrs. Claus cut. I ordered it medium rare and seared. It was incredible. The Filet was also a home run! We typically never order filets as we chose to order a sirloin or ribeye cut. This was cooked perfect and the caramelized onions and mushrooms with a blue cheese sauce made the dish. We are headed back again soon. We typically only eat beef occasionally but the Island will be on our regular rotation for our dining from now on.

Visited this restaurant with my husband’s family on a recent trip to NH. The fresh baked rolls were great. The kitchen was a bit backed up, which our waitress let us know and we were ok with since we weren’t in a rush. The menu had choices to please everyone and prices were very reasonable. Once our food came out everyone enjoyed their meals. Place was charming and I highly recommend it!

I was so happy when I found out this restaurant re-opened…it was always one of my favorites. We went on a Tuesday night. Small crowd when we got there, pretty full by the time we left. The stuffed mushrooms from their appetizer menu were without a doubt some of the best I’ve ever had. They lost me with the entrée though. I should have known better — if you’re going to a steakhouse that is known for it’s steak and seafood, don’t order chicken. The chicken parm was terrible. It had no flavor, and was sitting in a puddle of water on the plate. One of my friends got the chicken parm sandwich, and she wasn’t having any luck with hers either. She said it was tough and lacked flavor. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals(steak and seafood… go figure.) Our waitress was great. Prices were average. Easy to find. Get there early if you want a spot in the parking lot. I’ll definitely be back, and next time I know what to order.

Great food… Best surf and turf I’ve ever had… I’ve tried the filet mignon, baked haddock, and baked scallops. Prices are also fantastic. Definitely would recommend.

A perfectly delicious meal and service! The four of us throughly enjoyed our meal and highly recommend this restaurant. From the hot rolls, ice berg salad, French onion soup, clam chowder, filet mignon and sirloin steak there were no complaints; just kudos to the chef! I need to mention that the staff were friendly, professional and attentive to our needs. Christmas Island Steak house has been voted as our favorite place to eat when we are in the lakes region from now on.

Tried the Christmas Island Steak House tonight and was not disappointed. My husband had the prime rib and thought it was good. I had the small filet mignon and that it was one of the best I’ve had. Flavor was great. Au gratin potatoes were also great! Service was great. Sat in the lounge at a high top and service was wonderful! Megan made the best sangria I’ve ever had! Well worth the $$. Try it, you’ll love it! Kudos!

The atmosphere is casual, great music(I sat in the bar), and the service was fast and friendly. The salad could use some mixed greens instead of just head lettuce. Highly recommend!

I love this place because it is not a chain! Their steaks are delicious! Their wedge salad was delicious. I visit here every summer.

This is a very cozy steakhouse just outside Christmas Island in Laconia. The steaks are great – especially the prime rib – and they come with a baked potato and some other sides. There’s a separate bar and game room and they have parties downstairs. Lots of fun!

The prime rib is amazing. Rare is actually rare. The seafood is always fresh, and the prices are reasonable. Nothing like a 24oz hunk of meat and a pitcher of beer while you’re in jeans and a sweatshirt. A+

Great local business that has been around for years. Heard they had new owners, never even ate here before until just the other night(even though it’s about a 6 minute drive away), and popped in for dinner. The place was pact as always, I can always tell when I drive by the place. Lot more space inside than I pictured from the outside. Out waitress was nice enough and served us promptly. As she was asking what we would like to drink she asked if we wanted dinner rolls. Food was fairly quick to come out and VERY good. Price to Portion ratio was very fair as well. 4-stars, and I will probably be returning soon because of how good everything was. Only down’s I had was. how packed it was, noise level, and finding a parking space. All of which probably have to do with one-another and probably only because it was a weekend and it’s good eating.

Very disappointed! Want to say new owners??? We were ignored when we came in and we were brushed off when I asked for help… when our food arrived the steaks were over cooked, mashed potatoes were old, and the mango chicken had no flavor! Our roll basket came almost at the end of meal… Drinks were empty and we looked around and saw restaurant was empty as well… Terrible service… Very very disappointed because this used to be one of our favorite spots to go!

Great food, not such great service. I would happily eat here again, the food is worth the wait, but the service was quite poor. They weren’t rude or anything like that, in fact quite the contrary, they were very nice; however, or waitress was too busy gabbing in the back(we could hear her) and she was slow bringing our appetizers and completely forgot to bring our salads, even though we were the ONLYTABLE seated in the dining area. The steaks and prime rib were slightly over cooked, but the meat was high enough quality that it didn’t suffer too badly. The baked scallops were the BEST I’ve had in years — very fresh and perfectly cooked, even if they came out 10 minutes after the rest of the meal(another goof by the waitress). The prices were certainly reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food, so I’d recommend this to everyone, just realize you might get a waitress having an off night.

It says a lot about a place if I can give it a 5 star rating despite the fact that they had run out of roughly half the things we ordered. Although it was a special event weekend when we were there — Lobsterfest — so we kinda figured they ordered heavily on the seafood and a little less than they normally would of the usual menu staples. So we had to go without the pork osso buco and, tragically, their famous prime rib, but our waitress was warm and incredibly apologetic despite none of that being her fault, and she worked her tail off to make sure we were satisfied with the food we did get, so major points for that. But even major-er points for the food itself. The rolls were hot from the oven and pretty much everything you want your pre-meal bread to be… I could have eaten just the basket and been perfectly satisfied. The salad was your basic house salad, but pretty good, and the dressing(in my case, Italian) added a lot of flavor without making the thing an oily mess. The New York Sirloin I ended up ordering after being later informed of the distinct lack of prime rib was cooked to just about the most perfect medium rare I can imagine and incredibly flavorful. It has ruined other steaks for me for quite some time, I expect. I had that with some great mashed potatoes and an add-on order of scallops that were the best I’ve had in quite some time. And the G&T I had was pretty strong. Yeah, I was in a happy place by the end of that meal. Despite the early setbacks and the fact that the room was really, really dark(headlights from the parking lot would light it up like sunrise… I get ambiance, but there’s something to be said for seeing things), it ended up being an amazing meal and a fun night out with friends. The food and service more than made up for any initial inconveniences, and I hope to go back when I’m in the area again.

Although this is only four stars I felt it necessary to put four to ensure I have your attention. In a town that doesn’t have a lot of viable choices, this stands out as the bargain du jour. it shows 3 $$$ for price. It isn’t. This place is very affordable. They do a phenomenal job with the steaks. Bang for the buck this is the best bargain in town without having to sacrifice flavor and quality. The bartender heather was also a real gem. Just enough snippy mixed with class and service to remind you that this is also a well known neighborhood watering hole.

Excellent meal last Saturday night. I had a Seafood Fetta meal. My GF had a Fillet and Haddock. We ate at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and efficient despite how busy it was. What was really nice is that I didn’t want an Alfredo sauce on my Seafood Pasta dish. I noticed that they had other pasta dishes with an Olive Oil/Garlic sauce and so I asked for that. We started with a seafood chowder which was excellent. My GF had the Vegetable Beef soup and really like it. When the meal came the bartender was almost apologetic because the cook had put some fresh spinach and tomatoes on the dish. She offered to take it back but I refused because I LOVE that stuff. The meal was abundant and I had the leftovers for lunch on Sunday. What a pleasant surprise. My GF loved her meal as well. Best filet she’s had since the last time she was there! The atmosphere is VERY casual. I didn’t feel at all under-dressed in the bar in jeans and a sweatshirt. I’m going to have to remember to go here more often. We had two pitchers of Coors light with the meal. Small money over all.

Wow!!! Had an absolutely amazing meal here over the weekend. We were staying in the Lake Winnipesaukee area and wanted to have a special dinner for our first wedding anniversary. The owner of the motel we were staying at recommended this place, and I’m really glad we listened to him! First they brought out rolls and butter, which were tasty. but we didn’t want to fill up on bread. Salads were next, just ok, I wish they had some shredded cheese in them. My husband and I both ordered steaks and they were cooked to perfection. He had the filet mignon and I had the sirloin. I had some of each steak and they were unbelievably good. I added scallops for $ 10. They literally melted in the mouth. I almost wished I had ordered them for my meal they were that good. The mashed potatoes were also tasty, my husband had the fries. All in all it was a fantastic meal, awesome food, strong adult beverages and we only paid a hair under $ 60. If you are ever in the area, do not miss this place!!!

husband and I found this place after a long day of hiking and a big hunger. We sat in the lounge area which had a little more light but unfortunately no view due to the buildings infront of the water. We ordered drinks which were wonderful and decent size and two onion soups. The onion soup was just rich enough to give a hint of sherry with a smooth taste of sweet onions. Excellent! We both got prime rib too which came with a salad and rolls. Salad was average and rolls nice and fluffy. A sweat bread came with it too which was great for dessert! Back to the prime rib. It would match up against any Boston restaurant! It was tender, cut with a butter knife kind. The creamy horseradish was smooth and whipped light. Loved it! Infact I couldn’t stop eating well after I was full and only the thought of our dog katy who also hiked with us waiting for leftovers got us out the door with a bit of leftovers. I did stop to poke my head into the open kitchen area to thank the chef/owner. Oh and the most amazing thing… martinis, onion soup, prime rib dinner, wine … around 70 dollars!!!
