I enjoyed the sushi here but the katsu donburi was not prepared very well. The katsu was super thin and chewy rather than a medium thickness and tender. I would give the katsu a 4 out of 10.

Came back here while visiting Seattle! I got the beef teriyaki, the tax return roll, the agedashi tofu, salmon and white tuna nigiri and the mochi! The beef teriyaki was good it comes with salad and a side of rice! I would just let the server know that you want the beef medium! It is up to you how you prefer your beef, but I prefer beef to be medium so it can be tender! The tax return roll is a special hahha what a fun name! It is a deep fried roll and it has a kick! It was fun to try, but not my favorite out of all the other rolls! The nigiri was just as good as I remembered! The mochi was also so so delicious! Nothing beats the hospitality of the people who work there! It seems to be a mom and pop store which is sweet!

It’s just a lone standing building. Small, cute, quaint. I wanted in and was greeted and seated immediately. It was about 530p when we arrived. There’s plenty of parking around the restaurant. I ordered the udon noodle bowl. Along with a miso soup. My friend ordered something with steak and rice and a special roll off the handwritten board. At some point while I was looking over the menu, the staff had turned the handwritten board towards our table. It was very attentive of them. The miso as always was good. Had tiny pieces of tofu and seaweed in it. The udon came out steaming hot, just like soup should come out. The mushrooms were delicious. Noodles cooked perfectly. Everything about my udon was great. The roll was unexpectedly very peppercorn-spicy. It had both unagi sauce and spicy mayo on it, but the pepper flavor distinctly came out. I think the ahi tuna was first dry rubbed(similar to ruth chris ahi tuna nommm) before put onto the roll, but of course I don’t really know considering I didn’t read what was on the board at all let alone what was in the roll. That all being said, I did like the roll. It was full of flavor and and very tasty. The steak looked amazing. It came with a cute cut up orange and pickled radish? My friend said it was one of his favorite dishes there. Service was great as usual. This is a mom and pop resaurant. The owners are there practically there everyday. They are super sweet and friendly. I love supporting local family owned businesses!

Awful. We ordered a California roll and miso soup, miso soup came out immediately but had to wait about 10 minutes to get utensils and had to eat it cold. Unless they expected us to eat it with chopsticks I wasn’t going to sip it from the bowl, if so my bad. ONE California roll took over 15 minutes to get. If it was packed I would’ve had no problem waiting but there was only about 4 other tables

Best sushi I’ve had in 3 years! I defiantly suggest it! I would come here every day if we lived closer! My husband went and got two rolls to go! I will be definitely going back!

We went there to celebrate my Fiances birthday. The food was amazing. We had chicken teriyaki, tempura, and sushi. The chicken and the tempura were great! Nice moist meat! The portions were large and the service was good. The only thing that was disappointing was that their red wine is served cold. Who drinks cold red wine? And the wine glasses are TINY. Like miniature child sized! The other thing is that I was wired all night long and couldn’t sleep which is a symptom of MSG for me.

Osaka is a great Japanese restaurant. Excellent food and great service. I tried beef teriyaki today and it was excellent. And green tee was a real green tea. I will be back again!

Very fresh and delicious sashimi and teriyaki chicken! The side salad that came with the chicken was sooooo good too but I ate it before I got a pic!

Fish had been hanging around a little too long. It looked dry and was fishy tasting and smelling. I really should have sent it back but it all looked like that. It was not worth the $ 4.95 for hamachi nigiri or the $ 4.50 for the salmon. Once again, for being the only person in the restaurant they could not even keep my water glass full. Server was friendly but that’s about it. Owner kept asking when I would be back. I should have told him when he gets some fresh fish. I told him soon. As soon as hell freezes over. LOL.

Best sushi bar in Thurston County hands down… tuna is delicious, rolls are fabulous, and the portions are generous. Go and enjoy!

A let down. Used to be a high-end sushi place but now seems a glorified teriyaki café. Sashimi was poorly cut with bone, cartilage and gristle. Salmon was not properly chilled. Initially no offer to re-serve, then after some debate provided two small pieces of decent salmon. Apparently a late dinner is a bad idea here, you may just get the scraps. I won’t go back.

It was cozy and delicious. They have a good selection of food and Sushi, Ramen was more like Korean style. Prices were reasonable.

The sushi was delicious. The portions could have been a little more but over all decent food and a relaxed environment

I was looking for another sushi place in town because I feel like it’s hard to find good sushi in Olympia/Lacey area. The reviews and pictures looked good, but I couldn’t find the rolls that were posted on Unilocal(I“m assuming they were«specials»). The sushi was good, but not anything over the top great. I will come back again and try some more just to see if I can get a better rating :)

Osaka has become a new go-to for my wife and I as of late. We almost always go with sushi that they have on special and have yet to be disappointed. The Lion King roll and Olympia roll are awesome and I have also had their chicken yakisoba and it was to-die-for! Service is also really great. I wish they had a larger beer selection but that sounds more like my problem, not their’s! Also, they do not give you a spoon with the Miso soup so be prepared to drink it from the bowl.

I was in Lacey on business and wanted to eat an early 4 pm dinner before going to my hotel. This was recommend on Unilocal so I tried it. I was not disappointed I was the only diner and the service was fantastic. I had Miso soup, Tempura, Olympia roll. And I got a 10% discount for using Unilocal

Fast, friendly service, and amazing food! The presentation of the rolls is beautiful and the taste is even better! Highly recommend the Fireball Roll(spicy tuna, cucumber, spicy crabmeat, potato crunches, etc.) Udon was also on point. It was so filling and delicious(and affordable for such huge rolls!) There’s also ginger ice cream available. Sounds weird, but trust me, it’s pretty good!(But green tea is still my favorite hehe) All in all, great sushi place that feels nice and homey

My husband and I love Osaka. We have dined here several times and have never been disappointed. The dining room is small but cozy. The atmosphere is pleasant. The owner, sushi chef, and waitress always greet us warmly when we come in. They are also very accommodating for our toddler. The service is attentive but not intrusive. On our first visit, our waitress made great recommendations. We have had various sushi rolls(the ones on the«specials» menu are phenomenal). I’m a huge fan of the Terikaki beef but, regardless of what we’ve ordered, we’ve always been pleased by our selections. I also highly recommend trying the mochi ice cream bon bons. They are a little weird at first but I’ve come to love them. Our typical meal includes an appetizer, two entrees, a sushi roll or two, saki, and mochi for around $ 50, which I consider very reasonable.

Awesome sushi restaurant. Very nice wood and bamboo décor. Staff was pleasant and the sushi was great. I also liked the bamboo handle on the teapot. Best sushi place I’ve been to in Lacey/Olympia.

I think this restaurant is cute. It’s very small on the outside and the inside. It’s also oddly placed between Dutch Bros. coffee and the Arco gas station. Regardless, I met a friend here for dinner after work. The hostess/waitress was very friendly and helped us adjust to the menu and how to order the sushi. She also brought the special board over to our table so that we could see the special. As Bernie mentioned, it was slightly odd as she could have just as easily verbally told us the specials or they could place the board in a more highly visible location so they don’t have to move it around for each guest. Anyway, we ordered some appetizers as well as our entrees. My friend got gyoza, which were perfectly cooked and your standard gyoza you could purchase in a store. I had a choice of Asian noodle salad or a regular green salad. In order to try something new, I opted for the noodle salad. It came with a few shrimp on top and was really cute in it’s assemblage. It was just rice noodles in a cold sour and savory sauce. I know that probably doesn’t sound appetizing but it was actually quite refreshing. I also got avocado rolls and cucumber rolls. They also were the perfect size. Not too big and not overly filing so I still had room for the entrée. We were served complimentary hot tea. I was unsure what type of tea it was. It tasted like barley water or maybe a chrysanthemum tea, but it was good to cleanse the palate between each item the waitress brought out. We actually finished the whole pot, and my friend doesn’t really even drink tea much. The tea was also a nice way to transition from cold items to hot items. I got the hot veggie bowl with rice on the bottom. It was a mix of Asian veggies in a slightly sweet but moreso salty sauce on top of a ball of rice. It mainly consisted of cabbage and carrots and other julienned veggies and was also very good. The small capacity of the restaurant gives a more intimate experience, but it is directly next to Martin Way so you can still hear the cars buzzing by. Overall, not the best food I’ve had but the experience made up substantially for the food.
