Happy Teriyaki and Sushi

Tasty food! Great big portions for the price! The ladies who I’ve met are also super nice! Friendly fast service!

I ordered my food at 5:35PM. The expected delivery time was 6:35PM. At 6:35 there was no food. I figured hey, maybe they’re swamped, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. At 7:35, there was still no food. Thus began the long ordeal of trying to find out where my food was. At 8:10 I was finally able to cancel my order, over 2 and a half hours after ordering it, and an hour and a half past the expected delivery time.
For all I know they have the most amazing food in the world, but that doesn’t matter if they never bother to actually deliver it.

Ordered dinner for pickup at 6pm. Arrived at 6:20. They forgot to put my order in. I waited 35 minutes. In that time I saw 3 tables seated, and then get their food. When I asked if my stuff was ready the lady walked off and never came back. I waited 15 more minutes and then walked out and went to Chipotle.
My husband and I go to this place at least once a week, and have for years. Tonight was the last straw for us. We have noticed the service has gotten worse and worse over the last few months.
My husband just loves the Spicey Chicken and egg rolls, but tonight he was so mad we probably will never go here again.

Ordered take out and the rolls were good. Not regulars here but wanted take out and tried something new. We enjoy Kiobito much better.

This place is the awesome! Very clean the asian waitress are funny and the food fantastic. Big sushi And they are so good. You will get full fast hahaha take your time eating. Since I can never finish eating 3 rolls on my own. My bf and I decided we should just order 3 sushi rolls instead of 6 that we both love. There is nothing bad about this place —

Dinner was good, food was very tasty and hot. Green tea is excellent. Volcano roll was stuck to the foil, so I missed probably half of the rice on the roll. Service was a little slow, but not too bad.

I hate to rate so low on something, I almost never do. I was STARVING, hadn’t eaten in almost 24 hours and I wanted something fast. I looked up delivery items and this place showed up, the only place around my area. I knew I could get the food faster if I just drove there and it was close, so I ordered online and drove to get my pick up.
Being this starving, everything usually tastes amazing… doesn’t matter what it is. I rated this place so low because, well I just couldn’t eat more than a few bites of what I ordered. I ordered a Bulgogi dinner with fried rice, and as an appetizer, I ordered sesame seed chicken. I will say I was super excited because it looked like I could eat what they gave me for days, it felt like 3 pounds at least. Honestly their sauce tasted like it was a few years overdue, or they took it out of the trash and poorly heated it up. I’ve rarely, if ever had bad Chinese food, but they conquered all.
The cashier was super nice and that’s the part I hate most about this rating.
Now it’s sitting in my refrigerator and I’m so pissed off that I spent the money and wasted my time to go get it and even as starving as I get, I don’t want to try and force it down it was so disgusting. I just don’t get it, with so many good reviews, I expected something way more than this. Not just way more, but just eatable to be exact. Luckily it was semi cheap, but I’ll never go here again and I hope you don’t either. Maybe a better place will end up here. I’m really sorry to the cashier… you were the only part about the experience that was good.
Update 1÷13÷2015: I still can’t believe how disgusting the food was. It’s still sitting in my refrigerator and I’m really hungry right now and I couldn’t force myself to eat it. I’m so pissed off with this place.

The food was really good but We probably won’t ever order delivery from here again. It took over an hour for them to deliver our food and they aren’t more than 10 – 15 min from us. When I called they said sorry we have a lot of delivery orders. Also I ordered miso soup and it had spilled out into the bag. When I opened it the lid was cracked open. Very disappointed.

The chicken teriyaki & sex on the beach roll were good! My husband and I really enjoyed the little samples. The servers were quick and friendly.
My only issue was the seating, the booth was worn and the cushion looked like someone’s big bum cracked it. Felt junky.

I finally ate in here. I usually order take out and bring home. This is a real restaurant as most
Happy Teriyaki seem kind of run down, this is very clean and well kept. The wait person was very nice and attentive to our needs. This place is on my way home and is a staple in my diet.

We ordered delivery and were told it would arrive in 45 – 60 minutes, but we’re thrilled when it only took 30!
The food was good for the price. We’ll definitely order again.

Still my favorite place for sushi in WA state. Doesn’t hurt that they have two waitresses there that aren’t hard to look at. they no longer do the «all you can eat» sushi rolls. They do a great deal though on three for about $ 20 (I think it’s $ 20). Three is about all I caqn handle with my pants still on. I made the mistake of getting five the first time I went there on their «all you can eat» sushi deal. I expected dinky little rolls and these giant sushi logs came out instead. Almost died trying to finish that. The woman I was dating at the time all but had to carry me out.
The chef doesn’t seem to have the same flair he did when I first started coming here, but it’s still very pretty food that tastes excellent. The sushi rolls that is, I’ve never had anything else there. Seems like he’s found the pattern that he likes and just sticks to it.

This is my favorite teriyaki place in town!
Wonderful ambience, with Japanese murals, wall hangings and lanterns. The food is served quickly and is always exactly as you would expect. With the meal, a complimentary sample of their salads is served and a small bowl of soup.
My favorite thing to do when I come here is read the amazing sushi names and varieties. They have at least 20 sushi varieties here, made fresh by a sushi chef while you watch.
In addition to their sushi, they have all of your favorite teriyaki combos, bento boxes, great lunch specials, soups and noodle dishes.
One of the highlights of this place, that separates it from the other teriyaki places in town is the truly kind service. They work hard and do so with a wonderfully genuine smile.
I will warn you, if you are feeling lazy and decide to do takeout, they are not kidding when they say it will take at least an hour to arrive. You’re better off going in to pick up your take out. Trust me! Not their strong suit, but ya know, no place is perfect!
Truly a great place to eat!

Definitely an Asian owned restaurant — could not tell if it was Korean, Chinese or Japanese.
The food was pretty bland but the techniques used were definitely Asian.
Everything was centered around a non Asian palate — mostly Americanized.
The best: side dishes (similar to ban chan)
The worst: tempura (wrong dipping sauces given — was tonkatsu sauce — threw everything off.
Old décor, worn out tables and chairs. Needs an upgrade or remodel.
Waitress bit rude but still delivered.

Really liked this place. I wasn’t expecting much, but my mind was changed when I went inside. The décor was nice and the service was really good. The 3 or 20 $ deal is really nice and it started with samplers. Over all it was a really enjoyable experience.
Going back again for sure!

I’m not an expert on sushi, in fact I am relatively new. With that being said this is now my favorite spot for sushi.
I got the 3 rolls for 20.95 special, which is a great deal. I ordered the Monkey Brains — the name caught my eye, and then I saw the ingredients -, the whitehouse roll and the 69 roll. All were delicious and beautifully presented.
The hot tea was good and I didn’t even have to add sugar because the flavor was that pleasant.
I got a starter salad that had an intriguing dressing and a strange plate with four sections with little bits of cucumber, and three other items I couldn’t positively identify. Though all tasted nice. (Remember how I’m new to the sushi world)
I also got the spring rolls. This is where I wasn’t fully satisfied. First the sauce was awesome. The rolls themselves seemed a bit over stuffed with lettuce and not enough other. I’ve had better and tighter rolled. This I’m knowledgeable on.
The service was wonderful from start to finish. I was warmly greeted when I came in — pushing my 8 wk old son in his stroller. I was happy to see the seating was ample and wonderfully spaced so it wasn’t cramped. They didn’t bat an eye at the stroller either. The server was very perky and friendly. She was patient as I took a bit to decide. She was very attentive as well the entire time. I was there nearly 2 hours. They are definitely breastfeeding friendly — all smiles when I nursed my son. Also the reason my meal took a while. When my server went on break the lady covering was sure to come check on me even though I noticed it to be a short break.
I enjoy the names of the sushi rollsba and find great humor in them. I found the options are pretty diverse. The three I ordered were very nicely plated and delicious. Though very messy and hard to eat in 9 né bite as I’m used to with other rolls (I was juggling the baby for part of this as well, and I’m clumbsy).
Bonus for me is they deliver. I will be utilizing this as it is easier to order in than eat out with a infant. I can’t wait to try the teriyaki and other menu options.
The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxed. The music was good.

I kind of went back and forth to decide if I should give 3 or 4 stars. So, how did I arrive at 4…
First, the hostess/​cashier/​server (I think her name is Sunny) is really cheery and personable, and really welcomes you to the Happy T. I will say though that the amount of energy she has isn’t that necessary for me, but at least it’s not bad customer service and she’s got a smile on her face. It’s not usually bust when I go in here. Whether you’re eating in or takintg out, the service is really fast. When I eat in, usually I just wanna eat and get the heck out of dodge.
I usually get the veggie fried rice and/​or the fried vegetable tempura which are both usually really good. There is quite a selection for vegetarians on the menu, or at least I thought so.
I did go for my birthday once and the food was just okay and then she brought out a deep friend Oreo in like tempura batter, but eventhough it was not an actual Oreo brand cookie, it was like a Hydrox or something a little cheaper I was still surprised. By the way the deep fried tempura cookie wasn’t that great but again, it’s the surprise that counts. I really can’t rate this place bad because it’s decent food, the sushi is really good & cheap too and the staff is excellent. I wish some of the general menu items were a little more… original and had almost like a signature to the dishes that make them different from every other Asian restaurant, but that’s probably not why other people come here. They just want great tasting food, excellent customer service, and an overall awesome experience which one is sure to get here.

I love this sushi spot! The service is super friendly and welcoming and the prices are amazing and affordable my husband and I come here at least twice a month! We do the pick three rolls special for only 19.99! We I always get the playgirl or playboy or the spicy ninja rolls! From there bubble teas to their entrees and rolls everything’s delicious!

If you know anything about my reviews, you know I’ve reviewed Happy Teriyaki in Tacoma about a billion times and I’m a huge fan.
The boyfriend and I were craving sushi on a Sunday and since the location in Tacoma is closed, we figured we’d give this one a shot.
I’ll admit I was a bit nervous as the ratings are a bit lower here than they are in Tacoma, but I’m going to rave about this place just as much as I do the Tacoma one! :)
Tina was super helpful and explained some of the sushi that was a bit different than the one in Tacoma. She was very attentive, kept our water glasses full, and was very pleasant.
We did try some new sushi that was pretty amazing and got our «Go To» to-​go orders of Mongolian Beef and General Tso so we could have dinner later that night. :) It was just as good as in Tacoma!
Because you know no place is PERFECT for me, the ONLY complaint I have is the egg drop soup — I just wasn’t a fan. The boyfriend doesn’t like eggs so he wasn’t a fan, but I wasn’t a huge fan either.
We may not make the drive again since Tacoma is closer, but this will definitely the place we go on a Sunday if we’re craving sushi! :)

My first review on Unilocal that deserves 5 stars. The service was fantastic! The Asian lady serving us was very friendly, helpful, and kind. I went with my boyfriend during lunchtime and it was kinda of busy and it seemed like she basically was running the place on her own, and we applaud her hard work.
We got the seahawks roll which was AMAZING! As well as teriyaki and chicken katsu which was great compared to other places I’ve tried. Btw they give a few side dishes and miso soup which was definitely a plus!
Best of all they have the best bubble tea in Olympia-​Lacey area. This is now my boyfriend and I’s favorite spot because it’s cheap and the service was great.
