I really enjoyed the few times we have eaten at this restaurant. I hope they are able to get the proper training for food and safety. I was sad to read the health inspection report. Again, I really enjoyed the few times we ate here. Food was good, service was great, nice quiet ambiance.

I’ve had some decent phở in the area but this was the best. The broth was a great base and the noodles are great. The drink selection is good and the décor makes for a nice edperience. Definitely recommend.

I have eaten here twice, once at night for phở, and once for bahn mi. Both were OK, and the service was good. Storage around the bathroom hall was strange and stuff spilled on the floor. No big deal. Until I saw this months heath department inspection scores. YIKES! But all the many items listed can be fixed with process and training. But I won’t go back until I see a good report for Hot Ginger. Edit: Update to reflect that business shared their re-inspection report and have corrected all issues. I will be back this week and look forward to boosting my rating! Thanks to the business for caring and sharing.

Ate here for the first time today. I was feeling indecisive, so I asked the server and she waitress suggested the yellow curry, so I got it with shrimp. It was AWESOME. It’s not something I’d normal order, but I’m very glad I did! I will be back

Took my family here. Got several items. All were good, best was the beef sandwich with fried egg. Good portions, good prices. Feed two adults and 3 kids plus appetizer for $ 40 including tip. Will come again.

Went in and first thought was that the resteraunt was beautiful. I work for a business in the complex behind their location so I didnt get a chance to sit at the bar. Greeted right away and asked Anna(employee) for a recommendation. She recommended a curry dish and boy did it not let me down. Food was incredible and I will be coming back to this beautiful peaceful resteraunt. Only down side was I wish I had more to eat because it was so good!!!

Came here on 2 different occasions both being about half a hour before they closed. I ordered the phở tai with no tripe, fried tofu and crab wontons. The fried tofu is huge. I feel like they could have cut them in half to make it easier to eat bc when they’re hot, you’re gunna drop them on the plate more times if they’re bigger than if they were cut in half. The crab wontons were good. More on the sweet side but still good. The phở is decent. I felt like it was way more on the salty side than anything. I don’t use lime in my phở but I felt like I needed it to cover some on the saltiness. Also, the water they give you to drink is not drinkable. It seriously taste like toilet water. I couldn’t bare to drink it even with how salty my phở tasted. On the second visit, I ordered the strawberry lemonade. They used an excessive amount of syrup and it wasn’t mixed. There was so much that you had to constantly mix it so the syrup didn’t settle on the bottom. I mean, I’d come back to try other stuff. I feel like it’s kinda pricey but it doesn’t bother me.

Only my first time, but it was was an excellent experience. Best ambiance and best food of any Vietnamese place in town! My phở was absolutely superb, my wife loved her chicken curry dish, and my son enjoyed his chicken teriyaki. Nice servers, though not fast – so not a place to get in and out fast. We’ll be back soon to see if it can maintain the high initial rating I gave it.

We’ve been to Hot Ginger twice so far and both times have been great. Love how the place is clean and well decorated — definitely one of the more«upscale» phở places in Lacey. So far, we’ve tried the spring rolls, various phos, chicken rice noodle bowls, chicken banh mi, and bubble tea. Everything has been excellent. Spring rolls all have plenty of shrimp, lettuce, and noodles. They taste fresh and just made, and the peanut sauce is yummy. The small phở is a decent size for most ppl, so I would order that unless you have a huge appetite. They definitely give you plenty of meat, and the broth is well flavored and not too salty. The noodle salad bowls are crisp and flavorful and loaded with both veggies and meat. I had the chicken banh mi for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how huge it was. I think it was $ 5 and i was stuffed after it. The bread was toasted and It had a ton of meat and jalapeños — so good. Only flaw was maybe too much sauce so the bread started to get soggy in the middle. All in all, a great, clean new phở place and definitely worth checking out!

Ate here for the first time –place was nice and clean, a bit dark though. Service was good and the waitress was very nice. We were the only people in there when we went. Definitely going back.

It was five on a Wednesday night. A downpour. Perfect night for a steaming hot bowl of phở! We walked in and were pleasantly surprised by the clean, sleek design of the space. There was only one other table, fantastic! We’re going to get some very personalized service… We ordered… Phở, phở combination and bubble teas. No water arrived. The fried roll arrived. Phở arrived. After multiple times asking we got water and bubble tea. My tea went back. It was more like a bubble slushee. My other half was more thirsty. I ordered the vegetarian phở with beef broth. It was good, but I’ve had more flavorful broth at other phở houses. It could have used a different taste profile to soup up the flavor. But for a local phở joint, it wasn’t bad. I would visit again, after they have some time to work out the kinks. Be warned. They’ve only been open a month and I believe the staff to be very inexperienced. I saw multiple tables have to repeat requests in order to get what they wanted.

The service is great. The spring rolls were big. However, the phở broth was tasteless. :( I’m second thought… they gave me a lot of tendon… which I love. :)

We were waiting a really long time for our check and eventually had to ask for it. But other than that it was good. I liked the enviornment.

Food was great and I would give a 5 star but service wasn’t that great. They were nice but not very attentive. They were busy and had only 1 person waiting tables and hosting/doing the checks. We waited a long time for menu’s, weren’t given drinks till we’d been seated already 20 mins, they completely missed my order and I had to wait an extra 20 mins for them to make my dish, and they never refilled our drinks. All this being said if the 2 people just sitting watching the 1 waitress would have helped wait tables and refilled our drinks or something, I think the experience would have been much better. I would probably do take out again because the food was really good, but I might not dine in again until they get a hang of customer service better(coming from a former server/hostess this matters to me) and they are still a new restaurant so hopefully it’ll improve.

My husband me and my daughter went here for some phở. I can say that the phở and the atmosphere were really very good. They gave you plenty of meat in your phở, so that was a definite plus although it could have used a little more noodles. The appetizer we ordered was the crab Rangoon, and it as a real disappointment. The flavor was there but there was not enough filling so you were left with mostly fried greasy bread. My daughter had the kids teriyaki, which is normally her favorite, but she didn’t seem to like it and after tasting it myself, it was not that great and a little burnt tasting. The side salad that came with it was terrible. The service was excellent and very accommodating. I would go back for the phở, but because of the limited kids choices, it would have to be on date night without the kiddo. The prices were excellent.

I’m so glad to have found a phở place that I actually like in Hawks Prairie! I went with my family. We ordered a couple bowls of phở, vermicelli bowl, spring rolls and banh xeo. My husband is super picky about his phở, but loved his. The spring rolls were very fresh and tasty. The vermicelli bowl was good, but I wish I had more noodles. I wasn’t much of a fan of the banh xeo though. I will definitely be back! I loved the atmosphere. They also serve alcohol and bubble tea here which I’ll have to try another time.

I’ve been here 3 times now and its been great every time. The Fried Tofu is awesome and the Veggi Fried Rice is beautiful. They use very fresh ingredients and they also have cheap hot tea(1.50 for a whole pot). They really know how to take care of the customer.

This place kind of has that modern trendy feel that The Lemongrass has but more minimalist. First thing I will say is the service is excellent. You are greeted at the door even if the hostess is busy doing something else. They are very attentive and check on you more than once. The restaurant is quite big for a phở restaurant but I guess the addition of the bar requires extra seating just in case people come just to drink. I also like they are open later than other phở places. The menus are very large and take up a big portion of the table which I found kind of odd, but the menus have clear pictures of almost all items for order so you know what you’re getting in to. I’ve been here more than once and ordered the same things both times to see if there was any difference(veggie/tofu phở and bubble tea). I got strawberry bubble once and green tea bubble another time with tapioca. The presentation of the teas is nice but the strawberry was lacking in flavor. The green tea was nice but both times the tapioca were terrible. They were extremely hard and did not appear to be kept in sugar syrup at a warmer temperature to keep the outside gelatinous. We also had the spring rolls. Those were actually very good. The peanut sauce was amazing. So good, simple, and fresh. The phở also was lacking in flavor. The large size is huge which is great and was loaded with veggies and tofu but the broth just wasn’t original and unique to this business. I did like that they actually pan fried the tofu so it was crispy on the outside. That was really good as many phở places don’t actually cook the tofu right. I just kept adding hoisin and sriracha to change the flavor of the broth but after getting through 1⁄3 of the bottle of hoisin, I knew it wasn’t going to change. I also found their menu a little more pricey than other phở places. All the extra items to add to the phở were like $ 3-$ 5 each(extra beef, extra meat, etc) Both times I went it was close to $ 20 for one person. I can go to other places for a little less money, but the ambience isn’t the same in some of the more«hole in the wall» phở places and don’t forget this one has a bar.

Echoing other reviewers, the atmosphere sets a much higher bar for Vietnamese restaurants. Attractive lighting, modern furniture, overall a great aesthetic. The menu is surprisingly identical to that of Phở Tai on College St. Right down to the item numbers. Broth for the phở was good, not the best, but pretty good development of richness. The spices could be more prominent. Service was friendly and quick. If in the Hawks Prairie area, it’s a good option for those with a phở craving.
