Leslie’s Pool Supplies in La Quinta – I believe they just moved? I certainly appreciate having them for a local shop for the must-​haves-​right-​quick, but that’s about it. There’s usually some sort of sales pitch & for someone who’s grown up managing commercial and personal pools for 25 years, I don’t like the same pitch: «what (enter random chemical compound here) do you use? What? You need (enter any $ 69.99; highest over-​priced special sauce oil), & just add it to your order now» and the uncomfortable waiting every time when you know it’s coming. This is why I use their competitor across the street for water testing (though I know what they’ll fine before they will).
Look, Every Leslie’s is like this, and the guys are always nice & honest here, but I’d honestly enjoy returning if the vibe wasn’t the gotcha upsell. I’ll still continue to be a good customer, just never for chemicals or expensive hardware. I know what I need for my pool before I arrive, so leave out the gotcha questions.

Leslie’s is ok. The little Hispanic kid who has the perfect hair needs to go. Full blown attitude problem. Thinks hes god gift to the pool industry. Sells you stuff you dont need. Stay far away unless you like to over pay for chemicals and have a douschbag tell you what he «thinks» you need.

The staff at this location are always willing to listen and assist by suggesting products that actually DO work! I have been maintaining my own pool for 20 years as I feel I do a better job than any pool service and I would highly recommend this location. The manager is very knowledgeable and doesn’t try to sell me products I don’t need. I was hesitant at first with their algae removal program/​process but it does work — as long as you maintain the program!

My husband and I are new to the La Quinta area and are first time Home Owner’s with a pool. I must say, I am glad I did not first read the only review here, my experience was quite contradicting (though the last post was almost a year ago). There were two gentlemen who greeted me when I first walked in and immediately offered their assistance. I had explained that we recently purchased a home with a pool and sadly, the pool maintenance was let go during escrow. Now with absolutely no maintenance supplies or chemicals, we needed help! They were very knowledgeable and offered many options that would best suit our needs and varying budget points. Ultimately, we purchased just manual labor tools (pole, nets, vacuum, brush, etc.) and they gave me a bottle to bring back a sample of the water (which was greener than the Grinch on Christmas!) before buying any chemicals. I felt no pressure to buy anything and was even told I could wait on some of the more pricey items once we got the hang of the «DIY pool cleaners» and when summer may warrant a more labor-​free option. They did not make me feel incompetent nor did they bash me for the things I thought I knew or heard. I will definitely be returning here for our future pool needs and advice when necessary!

Would give no stars but not allowed. Very nasty employees if you question any of their decisions. Bought half of products they insisted I buy. After using what I purchased I had my water checked at another store and it was perfect. When I called re this was told off again. Will never go back.
