Yum Yum Donuts

I stopped here on Friday, January 29^th around 3:20 pm. I was super tired from a long day at work but I was asked to please pick up some donuts on the way home. There is a Yum Yum by my house in Whittier but that parking lot is always a nightmare so I figured this one was on the way home and what the heck, let’s give it a try.
First of all, this one is night and day better than the one by my house. The parking lot is spacious and the lobby of the shop is a nice size. The owner/​manager waited on me and he was just the nicest person. I told him to just please give me a nice mix of cake and filled donuts. He gave me a great selection and while he was packing them up, he told me all about the new donuts they have, in particular a honey wheat and a cinnamon roll flavored. He put a honey wheat in our dozen and I tried it as soon as I got home. It is AMAZING! Such a great taste for a donut, I loved it! Anyway, they have an awesome selection of mini-​donuts and he gave me for free a mini version of the cinnamon roll one which was so tasty!
It is that kind of attention to customers and friendliness that will keep me coming back. I will be there tomorrow night, picking up a dozen for the weekend. I am also going to try one of their shaved ice drinks; I consider myself to be a slushie/​icee/​slurpee aficionado, so I will just have to give one of their ice drinks a try!

I will drive out of my way to go to this YUM YUM Donuts location. Fresh donuts always! Great service! Did I mention they are 24 hours?!! Love this place! They make the best bagel breakfast sandwiches. I will be back soon!

For some reason, I had a yearning for a ham and cheese croissant. So, I asked my husband to get me one from here since the last time we went here we had a really good experience with the service given to us as well as the delicious doughnuts. OMG… my ham and cheese croissant was delicious. In other places, the croissants look bigger but it is mainly due to lots of air pockets. At this place, it was perfect because it was so moist and buttery! My husband had the pastrami on a croissant and he said it was perfect because unlike the other places where they throw in uneven slices of pieces of pastrami, the guy made evenly sliced pieces. So, my husband said he would eat it again :) I saw that there bad reviews written about this place, but we didn’t have any issues. Maybe it depends on who is working there for the day. My husband didnt get the guy’s name who he saw both times he was there but next time he will ask.

12÷12÷15 11:45pm. Always great service and descent donut/​sandwiches. Not sure what the negative reviews about service. Unilocaler A. K took a picture of the staff on 11÷1÷15 provided good service. His not the most out going person but took my order without an attitude and rung me up. Simple and easy. However I ran into one of those annoying insecure girls (hehehe…omg…hehehe…oh yeah…) Drives a prius and parking hops. whats that all about.strange.

What happened to the kid who worked weekends he was so fun and cool to talk to I miss used to be the only reason to go there and he used to make fire ass sandwiches bring him back

Worse donuts I’ve ever had!
Went early to pick up of donuts and a cinnamon roll. The roll was old, so dry and hard, had to throw it away. Ordered hot chocolate with whip cream and he put a couple of drops and the cream seem old too! He rushed us even though we were the only ones there! My niece got donut holes that were not tasty at all!

Horrible service! The short guy with glasses has the worst customer service ever and a horrible attitude. I definitely will be looking into getting the contact of management and letting them know about this guy. O yeah, I told him this and he said «I don’t care about that or you. It’s supposed to be 2 people here now and I’m working by myself.» Dude if you hate your job don’t take it out on me. Smh

Horrible. Every time I go there i get grossed out by the donuts. I can tell they are not fresh at all. As if they’ve been sitting all night long. The glaze donuts taste gross & that is my favorite donut. I just feel like they don’t care. I bought two and allllll of them were nasty. I won’t go back no more. I’ll just have to travel for donuts next time. It’s not worth my money. Even if it’s only 4 $ pleaaaaase correct this place! They used to be my favorite donut place even the one in the valley is gross. Idk what happened to their donuts but they need to figure it out,

Poor kid couldn’t be more apathetic about his service. Stale donuts that make those packages of donuts from the gas station seem like french pastries.
Came on a Sunday night. That may have been my mistake. 24 hours and conveniently located near the freeway. Come only if you have to. Would recommend you try 7 – 11 first for any road munchies needs.

Had a bad experience. Ordered 5 chocolate twists, they were all old and chewy. But the worse was the 9 grain bagel with cream cheese. Now that was super disgusting, it was black on one side. But not because it was burned, it was rotten, gooey and it smelled bad. I was very disappointed after spending almost $ 20 in this transaction.
Most importantly how could the employees serve this to their customers?

I can’t stand it when you buy donuts at the same place everyday and a daily customer. But when u go ask to us the bathroom they say it’s not for customers

I have been coming here for 40 years. It is the best donuts in LaPalma. They bake fresh from scratch around the clock. Always a wide selection and delicious breads. The sandwiches are great too. Super friendly staff!

I was really excited to see such a wide variety on the menu, unfortunately everything I wanted wasn’t available. No raspados… No arroz con leche… I ordered a cheese and egg bagel and specifically said no meat. Instead, I got charged for a bagel with meat and received a bagel with meat. When I went back to tell him he made me the right sandwich, but he didn’t even offer to reimburse me the difference. The sandwich was not good at all. I was very disappointed. Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

Wide selection of donuts, pastries, breakfast sandwiches and other items not normally found at your typical donut shop.
I ordered a dozen donuts and the nice man behind the counter even through in a few extras for me.

Not so YUM YUM DONUTS
This is NOT MY FAVORITE PLACE to grab a DONUT in the morning but it’s near the gas station I go to and whenever I need to get gas in to morning I usually grab something from here because it is convenient!
Sometimes when you’re in a rush CONVENIENCE WINS OUT over DELICIOUSNESS! I know it sad but I don’t like to be late for work or anything thing if I can help it and for some reason no matter how early I leave to get gas at the BUTT CRACK OF DAWN I still don’t seem to get an edge time wise!
The other good thing about this location is they have more than just DONUTS like breakfast bagel sandwiches! A PLUS when you don’t want a DONUT and there NOT on your go-​to list for what there SIGNAGE TELLS YOU is there thing!
The BREAKFAST BAGLE’S are on the AWESOME SIDE! I usually don’t eat it until I get to work! By then it is NOT as hot so I pop it in the microwave to warm it up! NOT a huge deal. I mean I don’t expect food to stay hot on a FREEZING COLD morning for at least an hour and a half until I have a chance to eat it, while I drink my coffee!
You get a choice of meat like ham, bacon or sausage and they all come with cheese unless you tell them you don’t want it! And they have perfectly round bagel shaped egg! I DON’T think they do just egg whites because I always for get to ask them. They even wrap it up nicely for you! Well they do for me because I ask them too and they don’t seem to mind!
For me there DONUTS seem to be a bit on the heavy side! I’m not sure WHAT they are using that is making them heavy but I’m guessing REAL butter is not it but rather LARD! LARD makes everything heavy! Of course I can NOT be sure because I am not in the kitchen. But I let the TASTE SPEAK for itself!
Another thing I don’t care for are the kiddy type icing DONUTS! I am NOT a fan either way but I have had a chance to try one and the icing was WAAAYY TOO SUGARY for me! And those sprinkles were a bit stale! Again I am not an AVID YUM YUM DONUT eater so maybe this is how they do things! That is NOT how I DO THINGS! There is WAAAAYYYY TOO MUCH SUGAR and a HEAVY DONUT that tugs on my eyelids to put me into a breakfast comma after I eat it. Hmmm, one small DONUT should NOT DO THAT!
They also have different things to drink here like juice, hot chocolate, coffee, milk and I believe they do some sort of smoothies as well but I have not tried them! It would seem SEVERAL DONUT places have stepped it up a bit and are NOW including MORE than DONUTS and this place is NO different!
It is making grabbing breakfast in a pinch A LOT EASIER on people who are trying to GET TO WORK «ON TIME» after dropping off the kids at school (and in some cases the kids are NOT at the same school), the dogs to doggie daycare, pushing the husbands/​wives out the door to work to make sure they make it on time, and then fighting the awful traffic so you can get to work just to play baby-​sitter to your co-​workers that refuse to GROW the H*LL UP and just do their FRICKIN JOB! Lucky for me I don’t have that problem!
Over all I will probably be back but it WON’T be FOR THE DONUTS but most likely a breakfast sandwich unless something better is offered to me on my way to work! This is CALIFORNIA so that has a STRONG POSSIBILITY of happening! GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER YUM YUM!
My stars are for the sandwiches and convenience NOT the DONUTS which is SUPPOSED to be there crowning glory but they missed the boat on that one!

One star is almost too generous for this shop.
Over the years I’ve tried them a few times because my husband loves donuts. Every time a worse disappointment than the last. And my last visit. .. the server took out the trash then went behind the counter to serve me without washing his hands. I walked out. Appetite gone.
Couple years later my daughter bought a bag of donut holes that were rock hard. She took them back immediately but not before taking a bite. YUCK!

I think the donuts here are fine. Nothing special or fancy. Just very basic donuts.
Prices are great and the staff here always seems so friendly and eager to help.
The last time I was in they insisted I try a sample of their new coffee cake. They were excitedly anticipating my response so I made loud «mmmm» noises. In reality it was simply «okay», just like their donuts.
