Unilocal Challenge 2016. 48⁄116 On the hunt for a good local pizza, that was close by and NOT30 minutes away and a few of my trusted Unilocal buds lead me here with their convincing reviews. If they liked it, I would hopefully like it too. Now I’ve seen this place while pumping gas but the location never enticed me. So this place has been serving pizza before I could even eat pizza. That’s a loooong time. They have to be doing something right to be in business that long. Situated on Orangethorpe and Walker in La Palma right next door to a bar and close to Yum Yum donuts. Called in a to go order since the Misters was still asleep after an all nighter working. For a sec I thought I had the wrong number, with the way they answered with only«hello». I Went with the large special. I wanted to wake him up with a giagantic pizza in bed. Nothing says I love you more than garlic and pizza. I was in and out in a couple of minutes and on my way home. The pizza infused my car with its delicious aroma. I almost pulled over for a taste a roo. So, my pizza is not really New York styled. The crust was a little thicker than auethenic NY pizza. I’m sure I could of asked for extra thin. To me NY should be folded in half easily as your teeth sink into it. The pizza was just alright. But I expected it to taste better, especially with all the 5 star reviews. The misters was also not convinced. The sauce had a good flavor, but was very stingy on the crust. The toppings were plentiful. It was just missing the magic. It reminded me of CostCo pizza. The pizza was listed as $ 20.45 and I was charged $ 23.58. That’s more than $ 3.00 in tax. Either their prices went up, or they have a hidden charge for credit cards. I never saw a receipt, just the till I signed for. If they did add a fee without telling me that’s shady and illegal. **update** Called them back and they do impose a $ 1.50 fee for using credit cards. He apologized for not telling me. I thought it was illegal in California to add a fee on non cash transactions? So the hunt continues for 5 star pizza. #861

This place reminds me of some of the neighborhood watering holes up in Buffalo, NY. Great barroom atmosphere and better pizza than any of the chains. Medium to thin crust pizza, heavy on the the oregano just like Dad used to make. Good service too, one line, no waiting.

I live close by and when we moved in, we were hoping this could be our go to local Pizza place. The large pepperoni pizza we ordered to go was basic and reminded me of just barely one step above Dominoes. The price was not outrageous but it was a disappointing flavor experience. I was not impressed with the look of the dirty parking lot. I believe this and a messy bathroom indicate a lack of care of the management. The workers over the phone and when you went to pick up seem disengaged and not patient. I’ll stick with Round Table on Valley View(to go) or the new Pizza Studio down the street for dine in Pizza.

Service is great, but that’s where it stops. Oh yeah and the short haired old guy, I think hes the owner is kind of mean. I ordered the lasagna and a small margarita pizza. Lasagna and garlic bread was bland and luke warm, lasagna tasted old like its been sitting in the fridge for a while. The margarita pizza was nothing special, I had a lot better at other places, the basil they use is really strong which takes away from other parts of the pizza. I had half a pizza left over and saved it for my wife for dinner(I had dinner early with the kids since my wife was getting home late) and after she saw it she said«Its okay Ill just have top ramen». For both items I paid $ 20 which included $ 1.50 for using a credit card. I think the meal should have been more in the $ 15 range. I am surprised by all the positive reviews, so I will try them one more time and update my review if the food is better, they might just had an off day.

Tried to order a pizza for delivery. The person picks up the phone with just«Paesanos!» I ask for delivery and the response I get is pure attitude. This guy was practically yelling over the phone. «WEDONTDELIVERUNTILAFTER5PM!!» If they are this rude over the phone, I don’t even want to know how awful they are in person. Go here if you want your pizza topped with rude behavior.

Love this place! Great pie, and RC at the fountain?! Whaaaat? If you don’t know it’s there you might miss it, tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, is the best pizza in La Palma. The staff is just as seasoned as the pizza sauce, been in the game a long time, and the product reflects this experience. The pizza is just how I like it, crust is crispy but not too thin, the sauce is flavorful and doesn’t taste like it came from a can, and cheese, …the cheese, there is no shortage of cheese at Paesano’s. All of the toppings are very good, and taste super fresh. I make sure I stop here when I’m in La Palma

Great waitress, the boss was rude to his staff. Nice lunch specials that come with salads before your main dish. Lots of parking. Indoor, dim lighted bar vibe, lots of tv’s around. Food was mediocre, which is expected with the price. Not a popular spot for lunch.

This is my go to place to get food when I am next doors at cliffs. They will bang on the wall to let u know your food is ready. The buffalo chicken is amazing; the fish and chips are really good also. I have not had the pizza but I hear its great;.

This is a hidden gem. I went there last night for the first time with my cousin and his family so there was eight of us. I had called ahead to make sure there was room for 8, when we got there the waitress remembered us when we said eight and she said I have your table already set up. The place is not big but its not small either, its quiet, they have a TV and we got to watch a UFC fight that was on NBC Sports. We ordered 2 pizzas, one 18 inches and one 16 inches, one whole order of wings and mozzarella sticks along with french fries in a salad. Pizza’s We’re huge and good, mozzarella sticks were real good, salad was big enough for 4. The chicken was the best, the waitress told us that that’s the popular thing there and we know why. I’d go back just for the chicken alone. Service was great and I saw only one waitress all night taking care of everyone. If there’s anything negative about this place, it would be the to go boxes. They don’t give pizza boxes for leftovers cause the owner won’t allow it. Restrooms could be moved too.

I eat here pretty often! I normally order the Italian sandwich or the pizza sub. the best around! The bread is toasted perfectly. The place could use some updating, but we normally order and eat at cliffs hideaway anyhow.

First time here. around the corner from the kids house so we thought we’d give it a try. The calamari was ok. The girls enjoyed the ceaser salad. The beer was cold, the pizza was the best I’ve had in years! Really… I was surprised. It was really good. Kids loved it too Not sure if the lady that served us was the owner… but if not, she sure should be! …excellent stop

First timer at this venue. Definitely has a dive bar type of feel but there is a dining area that’s separated by a wall. You can tell is a hangout spot with regulars known by name. It’s an older crowd vibe on a Saturday night but no problems. Everyone is really nice. Boyfriend and I tried the paesano’s special. 14″ that includes pepperoni, sausage, olives, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, FRESH garlic(big chunks yum!), and Romano cheese. Price is super cheap and they don’t skimp on the toppings($ 16). Pizza is not oily at all and the crust is thick. Really was perfect! We also tried a half order of the buffalo style chicken. Pros: meaty, crispy. Cons: not enough sauce so it can taste dry. They should give you extra sauce on the side. They do give you ranch though. May be something I won’t try again. Overall, it was a good experience. And I would definitely come back for the pizza!

Went to Paesano’s twice while working in Buena Park for the week. Had a pep pizza the first time and their lasagna the second time. Both were very good… much better than the pizza chains. Also had a few cold beers, and(bonus), when we tapped for an Über to take us back to the hotel, the dude was around the corner at the 7 – 11 parking lot. I’m taking a star away because both times we went there were people smoking by the doors, but otherwise I highly recommend this place for their great tasting food at a fair price.

Ohh, think this might be one of the best pizza joints around. I usually get pizza from BJ’s but after trying Paesano’s I think I’ll be switching my local pizza place! The sausage was really good and flavorful, like they get it from some specialty Italian shop, the crust was good too yum!

Hidden GEM-O-LICIOUS Don’t you just love it when you find a hidden gem, which is NOT at all hidden you just didn’t bother to pay it much attention. I LOVEIT! The ONLY thing that makes it better is when said hidden gem is down the street and around the corner to home! This places has been here for about 20 plus years which is about how long I’ve lived in this area. So shame on me for not coming here sooner! Well just yesterday I finally took my head OUT my butt and looked around! I had to take off from work early to take one of my fur babies(Sophia) to the doctor… She likes to go but sadly once inside she uses me as a shield to hide behind. So anyway I went to get gas and eye-spied this place out the corner of my eye. I decided to run over here cause I needed to go back to work and grab my computer so I could CONTINUE to WORK from home. Plus they were close and I didn’t feel like doing a hunt and peck routine for a place to eat for sinner. Plus my lunch consisted of frozen yogurt with almonds and chia seeds in it. My stomach was beginning to do its twisting around my spine to let me know it was well past time for me to feed the beast! I still have not managed to embrace those hunger pains so I quickly gave in! This place is sort of a sport bar feel with all the brown wood and lowered lights, but it is actually a pretty decent little joint. When I walked in and was greeted right away. There are two doors so it made me think it was two different places but it’s not it’s one restaurant/sports bar. There were a few guys at the bar having a drink, and having another drink, and having a ball. They seemed like regulars as the owner was chatting away with them and knew them all by name. My type of place. I LOVE it when owners go the extra mile in remembering customers by name! I perused the menu quickly so I could be on my way! I didn’t have a clue want I wanted but they had pizza, salad so I knew that was out since I would be driving! They also have calzones, burgers, several appetizers, sides, hot and cold subs to pick from. I got my regular chicken parmesan sand which is a HOT sub and a small pastrami sand to go. Everything is made fresh in the kitchen so it takes a little while but NOT a HUGE amount of time. My chicken parmesan was AWESOME! It had OOEYGOOEYHOTMELTEDCHEESE on it! The bread was soft and lightly toasted and WARM since it was in the oven! The chicken was JUICY and MOIST and it had PLENTY of sauce on it! It was REALLYGOOD! I could only eat half as I’m TRYINGNOT to be a piggy an scarf my food. Every sand is 8 inches long so it’s PLENTY to either be shared or eaten alone if you’re starving. The sands are not skimpy. They also have family meals and they cater which is GREAT because TIS the SEASON to be a JACKAZZ in parking lots and stores with all that pushing and shoving so I doubt anyone wants to cook after running around and working all day! I been back a few times and want to try something else but I LOVE my chic-parm sand. There to-go menu also has a few coupons so anytime I can save a few bucks that is a GREAT thing!

This is a great pizza place! I moved to the area recently, and it is by far the best in town. Their pizza is truly the best I have had in a long time. The sauce it great, the antipasto salad is freshly made. The service was also top notch! The only pitfall is that they don’t do delivery, but the older gentleman with the pony tail makes it worth your time to drive down. I walked in, and he was jamming on a mini drum set! Even though it was my first time going there, I felt like a regular. I was greeted me with a smile, and he had my order ready within 15 minutes of the call. I also purchased a Arizona tea in the fridge on my way out, and he gave me a cup of ice without even asking! Really nice guy, with 5 star service. You won’t find a better pizza place!

I, myself do not care for their pizzas. They are stingy with their toppings, sauce, and the dough is too thick for my taste. The crust is usually pale and doesn’t look good. I am not a sandwich person but I rather have their sandwiches than their pizzas. I only eat it because my bf likes it.

I am not sure if this place serves New York styled pizza because I think their dough/bread is a bit thick to be called New York Styled pizza but none the less theyhave some pretty good pizza. I love the fact they are generous with their cheese and toppings. Ingredients are fresh. The crust is chewy. It’s just pretty good darn pizza. And the price is not bad as well. The staff at Paesano’s are nice and friendly. I would definitely be back, I see no reason not to…
