Great sandwiches and great prices. I drive from the Bostonia area over to get dinner. We love the food.

Still good! I have not been to them in a few years(no reason), but I needed to pick a lotto ticket and decided to get a samich. They are still so good! I love sandwiches, trying all kinds, in all combos. They serve up a true deli sandwich. Kinda messy, but thats cuz they load up all the goodies. Subway is a few doors down, and yea you can get a foot long for $ 5 these days, but really… this is a true homemade sandwich. If you feel like supporting the local guy, do it. It’s good. But it is definitely a good idea to call ahead.

Well, I guess I should update my review … I’m still a regular here & I have always received good service. People working here are not«bubbly, sanguine personalities» but they are friendly & I have never been treated rudely & all the sandwiches I have had have been very good. This is a liquor store that makes sandwiches as a side business. If you are looking for the fake«how are you, I just met you but I’m your best friend» greeting, go to subway & enjoy yourself. The owners & people who work here are real people & they may not fit the personality type you want to experience, but they are truly kind people who don’t act fake just to sell you something. People make mistakes all the time & milton I’m sure if you would have pointed out the mistake while you were there they would have corrected it. Overpriced — more like reasonably priced to stay in business. No, the sandwiches are not CHEAP, but they are fairly priced — just look at the overall increase in food prices at the supermarkets. Personally, you may not think they make the best sandwiches, but it definitely is better than any chain sandwich shop … and as to «padding their rating», that’s a joke.

This is my local Lotto Spot. If I need a lotto ticket, I come here, if I need the«Reader,» I come here. However, in addition to those things I hear they have a good deli inside and wall to wall liquor, if that is your scene. The coolers are full of domestic, imported and local beers. They also carry a variety of cigs. and snacks for you smokers or for when you have the munchies, for some reason or another. Nice people.

Please do not waste your time, gas money, or business on this overpriced deli with poor customer service. 1) Check out the review dates. Note most of the 5 star reviews were written within three days of each other. This place is obviously padding their rating. 2) Drove about 10 miles to check it out today as we love deli sandwiches and wanted to give it a shot. TERRIBLE service — these people obviously don’t care much about customer service. Rude and in no hurry to help. Wrote the order and proceeded to make the sandwich without sanitary clean-up. 3) So as other reviews noted, there is a special $ 3.99 deal. BUT… That doesn’t even cover half of the sandwiches. I attempted to choose two of these«specials» and confirmed with the woman that this was correct. However when I went to pay, the total was nearly $ 20 for two small deli sandwiches! Why? If you want any bread besides cheap Wonderbread slices, they charge extra — and the bread is all lined up with no prices pointing this out. If you want cheese, they charge extra(a bit more understandable). If you want avocado on the VEGGIE sandwich, they charge extra… cause there are SO many toppings on the veggie to choose from… it was tomato, lettuce, red onion, mayo, and mustard. Even Subway understands a «veggie» sandwich should include the vegetables available at the same cost as well as cheese(but yes, extra again). So for two sandwiches, the total wasn’t $ 3.99 + 3.99. It was $ 19.49. I calmly told them it isn’t good business practice to nickle and dime(especially while telling the customer otherwise), promptly walked out, and gave my business to another deli. I ended up with delicious sandwiches that were twice as large(with my extravagant additions to boot!) for $ 11.

I am obsessed with the sanwiches at the well deck. its like a little hideen treasure in rancho san diego, where there are not many quality sandwich places to begin with.(i hardly call subway a quality sandwich) at least when i leave the well deck i dont SMELL like the place. The ATC is wonderful. add bacon, and put it all between two pieces of squa bread, OMG. so good. in the summer months i love stopping here on my way to the beach or balboa park, perfect places to enjoy a well deck work of art. and if youre not on your way out, they even have a couple of tables set up so you can enjoy your food right there, no having to wait til you get home! The prices are great, and while you wait for your sandwich order, you can pick up a couple of drinks, try your luck at the HOTHOTHOT lotto machine, and snack on a bag of chips. They have it all. The owners are awesome people, and i have no future plans of trying another sandwich place in the area. This one does the trick for me!

this store has gone down and down and down. liverwurst sandwich, brown lettuce, no butter available and stale bread. AND very grumpy service. it was a great place for sandwiches but as is the case in so many establishments things changed. new ownership just brought it down. would not recommend it any more.

I’m so sad to have to report that after coming here for 20 years, the sandwiches are no longer good. The last 2 times I’ve been here, the bread has been stale. The rest of the ingredients were OK, but the bread in a sandwich is important, and it was horrible. I ordered the California club, and they didn’t toast it according to the menu — had they made the sandwich according to the menu, I might not have noticed the dried out bread. Also, I ordered another sandwich that they obviously don’t make all that often, and they just stood there staring at the ingredients for like 4 minutes not knowing how to piece it together. Once they did, it was less than average — it was tasteless. I’m very disappointed, the menu is excellent, but the quality seems to be going down hill(at least in the last 4 years…) What bothers me more is that 3 people have hit the lottery here — really, 3 millionaires made by the California lottery who bought tickets at the Well-deck. You know they get a cut — so why can’t they pass that extra $$ into the quality of their food? I will add that the sandwich special is 3.99…so if you don’t want to spend much money, go for it… it’s not the worst sandwich I ever had, but I didn’t finish it, it was just too nasty…

So I always pass by this place and I feel like all year long they always have a sign out that says«a millionaire was made here». Once I talked to the owner and they said people win there all the time! I bought a few tickets myself and won $ 100 hahahahahah. Anyhow, it is THEBESTDELIINALLOFSANDIEGO! I always get the BLT most of the time but I think I have tried all of their sandwiches. I love the ham and cheese, turkey and avocado, turkey, bacon, avoacado and swiss, the list goes on and on! OMG, I am salivating just thinking of the aroma when you walk into the place. I start floating in with the smell of the sizziling bacon as soon as I park and get out. The staff is amazing, one time I was really embarrased, I went in there two times in one day. I made an excuse and said that the sandwich for lunch was so good that my mom wanted one lol. I hope the owner is not reading this, I sparked a conversation about it for about thirty minutes. I was guily what can I say hehe. I love their coleslaw and all their sides too. This place is must try everyday, maybe even two times a day… hope you come up with a better excuse than me… hell! have the balls and tell em the truth because I sure was too embarrassed lol

I am so lucky that this gem is in my back yard! Now I have to admit that im not big on sandwhiches especially from subway… lol The last thing I want is to go to my next destination after I have left the deli and smell like funky bread and pickels. but the smell… oh the sweet smell of yummy bacon and prime meats that dont leave that artifical smell on you. The California and the BLT are my FAVS. I know it sounds simple but they are like the only people in San Diego left that actually have Squaw bread. I hope im spelling that right. To top it all off theyve had probably like 10 lotto winners and like a couple that have been millionares. So I dont know if thats good enough for you but it sure in heck is damn good for me. Thank you well deck for keeping it real on the deli tip and thank you for being in my back yard!

Whenever I walk into this local liquor store I usually pause and bathe in humble awe at the grandure that lies before me. Gallons and gallons of beer, wine, and liquor… It makes me weak in the knees. With over 60 different sandwich options It’s hard to go wrong eating here, too. Each one is 6 – 7 bucks a pop but the quality is worth it. Oh and they always give you a pickle! I love the hell out of pickles, just so you know. Something about the combination of cucumber and vinegar just hits the spot. mmm. I’m going to encourage you not to bite the bait and go for the obvious«lover of pickles» innuendo that I get just a little too often. If you need some sauce, a bite to eat, smokes or scratchers this place beats 7 – 11 on every single front except for the hours. PS. The sandwhich girl is pretty hot. Seriously.

the well deck makes a mean sandwich. they’re a little pricey, but the sandwiches are packed with meat, cheese and toppings so you get what you pay for. they pack it up in a brown bag with a side of pickles/pepperoncini’s(bonus!) allowing you to happily crunch away while eating. i recommend the california club — always a winner.

Well deck makes better and more interesting sandwiches than Subway, Quiznos, etc. and charge you for it. The sandwiches run $ 6.00-$ 7.00. Besides the usual 40’s to chase down your lunch they have an unusual wine selection. In addition to the normal compliment of cheap wines they have several over a 100 bucks. You gotta wonder who would buy a bottle of Opus1 that has been sitting upright on a hot shelf? The sandwiches and cold beer should rate 3 stars but they are no bargain so 2 stars it is.
