I was visiting San Diego last week and my wife and we found #3 just diving off the freeway. The prices and food were great!

The BEST taco shop around! My husband and I eat here at least a few times a month. Everything I’ve had is delicious. I LOVE the cheese enchiladas, the chicken flautas and the carne asada rolled tacos. I’ve also had the carnitas burrito, the shredded beef and chicken tacos and the taco salad… All fabulous!

I’ve just moved to San Diego a few months ago and this has become my favorite place to get Mexican food! I love the carne asada tacos, the portions are really good and love the affordable price. Definitely coming back all the time!

Definitely my favorite place to get Mexican food. The prices are low and the food is amazing. I would give it 5 stars but occasionally the quality of the food is inconsistent. For example, sometimes the quantity of cheese on a burrito is very small and not melted and other times there is a lot of cheese and it is melted.

I’m staying at the Travelodge right next door, and noticed this little gem in the parking lot. It’s a small cozy restaurant in a plaza with a few old school seats outside. Huge menu, easy to read with great prices for the portions. I got the 5 carne rolled tacos(excellent munchie choice! Cheesy, meaty. guacamole-y?) my mom got the chicken flautas(came as a plate with rice and beans, mine didn’t) all under $ 15 and 15 minutes. Two thumbs and a glass of horchata up… I’ll definitely be back ;)

Rosarito’s is my go-to place for Mexican food. I get the potato rolled tacos(and add lettuce), but I’ve also had quesadillas, nachos, burritos, and chilaquiles and they have all been amazing. Dining-in can be a bit snug if there are a lot of people, but I think most people are like me and prefer take-out here. I grew up next to another location and used to dream about the food when I was living in the land of Tex-Mex. First thing I wanted when I hopped off of the plane for a visit was Rosarito’s. Now, I’m living in La Mesa and this location is just as good, if not better, than the one I grew up with. Everyone in my company(located in the village) hops on my order when I suggest it, the food is that good.

Have been here twice and since the carnitas plate was SO good the first time, I craved it and went back to get the same thing a week later. Every aspect of the food was amazing and of great quality. The tortillas, rice and beans were super flavorful and tasted freshly made. Then the meat was melt in your mouth tender and the flavor… OMG! Not to mention their portions are HUGE! I highly recommend this place!

I must have gotten really spoiled by a couple of holes-in-the wall where I used to eat. There, the corn tortillas were fried on the spot, super crispy. Everything was made from scratch. Service was superb every time. At Rosarito’s the service was excellent. The tostada, despite the lackluster tortilla was loaded with beans, grated and Mexican cheese, and not too much lettuce. All in all, it was really good, though the beans were bland. The chili relleno burrito, though huge, was a disappointment. I like my relleno with a sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla. This was an average sized relleno surrounded with a beans and rice mixture(which made it huge). I HATE that mixture, which is one reason I only gave 3 stars. It is a personal opinion, I suppose. The other reason is that I think that every restaurant with an eat-in option(only a few tables but still…) should have a customer restroom. This place is tiny, though they seem to produce a lot of food. I guess it’s as good as it gets these days. I’m a spoiled old-timer.

I was staying at the hotel right next door and had the chance to eat breakfast there twice. It was delicious, the staff were attentive and professional. And I got a mound of food for $ 6. I wish I had this place back where I live.

Rosarito’s #3 is as good as it gets. My boyfriend and I routinely get our usual order of a Cali burrito(with carnitas instead of carne asada), and two shredded chicken tacos. We don’t venture from these items because why mess with perfection? His pops loves the Surf and Turf burrito. All of the girls at the register have exceptional customer service skills and always seem to be smiling. The Chef/owner is one happy dude as well… and obviously he’s the master behind our meals so he knows what he’s doing! So thankful for these guys.

BEST shredded beef tacos I’ve ever had!!! They’re perfect in every way — perfectly crunchy, just greasy enough, flavorful meat and the perfect amount of white cheese that belongs on an authentic Mexican taco. I LOVE this place! I almost always go there just for the tacos but I have had the steak ranchero combo plate and the cheese enchiladas and both were delicious. ETA(Oct 2015): I tried another item on the menu the other day — beef chimichanga. It was huge and delicious! Perfection.

California burrito was absolutely delicious. I went in at 930pm. So I was kind of expecting stale product. I was totally wrong! They also carry wheat tortillas. Cali burrito: carne asada/potatoes/cheese/sour cream. Prices are great too. They actually have $ 4 breakfast burritos. Which has always been my argument! It costs about $ 1 to make a huge breakfast burrito. The mark-up is insane! Stop the insanity!

I am a weathered taco shopper. Carne asada fries are well served and the chips are tasty(not all chips are made equal) always ask for sour cream and guacamole. Carne asada fries are the real deal too, the chips and salsa when you first sit down are the deal sealers though. Hurray for REAL salsa!

Where to start. This place is fantastic. Friendly service and reasonable prices. The breakfast burrito is massive. Mine had bacon, egg, potatoes, and cheese it was a must. It was so big i could share it. I highly recommend it. The meat was perfectly cooked, bacon was nice and crispy. Easily the best burrito I’ve ever had, hands down. I also recommend the fish tacos, they are tasty and and deliciously seasoned. Large portion. Two was enough for myself. Salsa is delicious also. If you want good Mexican food i highly recommend Rosaritos.

Rosarito’s was a place that I wasn’t ever really aware was there until Unilocal pointed it out to me, I’m starting to run out of taco shops in the La Mesa area to try out and thankfully this place came up because it was a really great find. Rosarito’s sits in a little strip mall shopping center next to the Social Security office off University and La Mesa Blvd. It’s not the biggest taco shop, it has a very small seating area inside and has a small parking lot, but the place packs a lot of flavor with its food. Their menu( ) was nice to look at, a good layout and design if you ask me. They had a lot of the typical San Diego taco shop stuff, including some of their special burritos that I haven’t seen before. The lady inside tending the cash register was really nice and let me in on how they make some of their items. I was in the mood for a burrito and some rolled tacos. After waking up at 6pm for work, I felt like a breakfast burrito and went with their carne asada breakfast burrito and five carne asada rolled tacos. When paying for my food, the lady kindly asked how much hot sauce I wanted, naturally I wanted a bunch. To my surprise she filled up my bag with tons of it, I love when places aren’t cheap with their sauce. Their sauce( ) may look a bit watery, but its very good and adds plenty of spice to your food. The breakfast burrito( ) as you can see is no joke, they make pretty damn big burritos here. Inside the burrito( ) was carne asada, bacon, potatoes, eggs, cheese and beans. This burrito was amazingly good, the meat was cooked perfect, bacon was crispy and beans were seasoned correctly. I absolutely thought this breakfast burrito was one of the best Ive had in a while, the only thing I would change is to add less potatoes, they were quite filling. The order of five rolled tacos with carne asada( ) was my favorite item from this place that I tried. By looking at the picture you can see they have no qualms of adding tons of guac, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and even carne asada on top. I’ve only seen one other shop do this with their rolled tacos so far, and it really is a delicious thing to try. The tacos themselves were crispy, flavorful and the beef inside was great. If I ever go back to this place, I will definitely not be leaving without their rolled tacos, they simply are that good here, especially when you add tons of their hot sauce. If I could have changed anything with my meal it would have been to add less potatoes to the breakfast burrito, it made the burrito way too heavy in your stomach. Other than that, my meal was great and prices were decent. I love finding these little small taco shops that aren’t heavily reviewed. Also to note, even though the restaurant inside doesn’t appear very clean, while watching the cook, you can tell he was paying attention to keeping his hands constantly clean and cleaning the work area after every order. I will definitely come back to try some other things here in the future.

I used to work down the street from the infamous #3 and it. was. glorious. super. immense. giant. phenomenal. hearty. rich. gooey. cheesy. salty. These are all words to describe the impossible dream that has been achieved in the Rosarito’s breakfast burrito. «Oh, I’ll just eat half now and save half for later…» NICETRY the consistently nice and awesome staff doesn’t hurt none. Go for lunch, grab one with a coke for $ 5, and spend the rest of your day in a food coma of happiness.
