Tommy & Jody have a one-​of-​a-​kind hair salon. I moved here from Marin County, where I was getting cut & styled from DiPietro Todd. I was pretty satisfied with the results but yet at times felt it was a hit or miss. I feel what separates Atelier Aucoin Salon from others I have experienced, is Jody & Tommy’s ability be on top of the latest trends & integrate those latest trends on my fiancé & I with precision & perfection. I showed them both pictures of George Clooney’s haircut & every time they cut it & style it exactly the way I wanted it. Most importantly, my fiancé consistently receives amazing results from her cut, color & extensions & that’s awesome because she looks absolutely gorgeous when we go out for dinner. These days, it’s extremely hard to find stylists that have great listening & technical skills but Atelier Aucoin Solan & staff go above & beyond to make sure their customers are satisfied & receive the results they desire. That’s what makes Atelier Aucoin Son so unique & magnificent. I also wanted to thank the front desk staff — specifically Ellie for her hospitality. She always loads me up with cumber water, confirms our appointments & essentially is always pro-​active.

Recently, I had my hair cut by Tommy and I absolutely loved it! In fact, it was the best hair cut I’ve had since moving to San Diego five years ago. The price was extremely reasonable — less expensive than some other top stylists I was considering. A friend recommended him because I love her hair cuts and sure enough he didn’t disappoint. I would recommend Tommy and Atelier Aucoin Salon to anyone!

Just got my hair done with Ashlee! She is amazing, precise, fashion forward and a perfectionist! I love her attention to detail. Beautiful salon and a zen environment! Loved my experience so much!

Jodi does extraordinary work! I have trusted my hair in her hands for color and cut for many years. Her color technique is so «on trend.» She did a new technique of layering color section by section being the true artist that she is. The outcome was amazing. She then cut my hair to maximize the color technique. Once again, color and cut that is dazzling. The salon is wonderful, the staff personable and I am well taken care of here. Both my daughters are clients and have creative color done by Jodi. The salon sells hair products that we all
cannot live without.

I was Tommy and Jodi’s first client when they opened their satellite salon and academy in New Orleans. Tommy continues to cut and color my hair in New Orleans, and I am now flying out to California for Jodi to do extensions. I have very fine hair and I scuba dive a lot, so it’s not in the best condition. Jodi worked her magic and it looks amazing with the extensions. I love these guys so much they came to New Orleans to do my hair, my mom’s hair, and my bridesmaids hair for my wedding. They simply are the best. If you can’t get an appointment with either of them, I wouldn’t hesitate to use any of their staff. They take pride in education and really work with their other employees.

If only there were more stars! Jodie and her entire staff have saved the day once again! I went and got my hair extensions done in Idaho which was a big mistake every time I go somewhere else other then Atelier Salon I end up regretting it! Jodie had to spend five hours fixing what another salon had done to my hair. I usually fly in from Idaho specifically to get my hair done at Atelier! They truly are the best of the best she made me look absolutely fabulous for STYLE LA Fashion week! Ladies if u want to look amazing and feel fabulous… Atelier Salon is the only place to go!

I’ve been going to the owner Tommy for 8+ years now and I can say that he is hands down the absolute best colorist that I’ve ever had and trust me I’ve done a lot of fieldwork in this department. He’s had a long and illustrious career in the hair industry and this guy knows what he is doing. I have gone completely blond to pink to balayage and ombré and he has done everything flawlessly. He is he absolute best when it comes to dye techniques and he keeps up to date with new trends. The prices are a bit high but they are worth it and are comparable and even better than salons that are double the price. If you want to spend a little less, I have seen the other stylists doing great work as well. There is also parking in the back!

I have been going to the same hair stylist for 20 years and getting the exact same cut and style. I was always satisfied until I decided I wanted something different, thats when it became apparent that my dear stylist only knew ONE style! After giving her a few tries I decided it was time to start looking elsewhere. I started asking women, whose hair I liked, where they got it cut. Finally one woman I asked highly recommended a stylist named Jodi. I decided to give her a try. I LOVED the way she cut and styled my hair, it LOOKED professional… but I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing a review because I wanted to «get to know» the style and work with it myself first! It does no good to have a haircut that you, yourself, cannot manage. I am happy to say it styles wonderfully for me! Im going to go to Jodi for a my next color/​weave next month and will report back again. And now my next challenge… how to divorce my former stylist! :/

I finally found an awesome eyebrow threading salon! After moving to La Jolla from Boston, I really have struggled to find a place to maintain my eyebrows how I like them. Lejen is my girl! I told her the shape and style I prefer and she executed it perfectly. I met her at a art festival a week before and she told me about the salon and gave me her card. She is quick, meticulous and painless. Love it.

This salon is one of the best things that has happen to me since I moved to San Diego!!! Leaving my hair stylist after 4 years was so hard due to me relocating my life, I found it impossible to find a salon that met my ombré needs and had excellent service and great pricing! The salon is very neat, warm and welcoming! Everyone that works there is so accommodating, greeting you nicely offering beverages, answering any questions or concerns you may have prior to your appointment. Marissa Chuises is my hair stylist and I can’t say how happy I am that my hair care is in her hands! She always understand my ideas (even when I have no idea what I’m talking about) and she always meets my goals!!! I am constantly receiving compliments on my ombré! I was recommended to her by great people, and I’m happy to be another referral for her!

Prayers answered! Tommy Aucoin is fantastic! After having just moved here, it was very stressful leaving my previous stylist of 14 years. But Tommy did a wonderful job cutting, highlighting and styling my hair. Such a kind man and terrific stylist.

Tommy and Jodie are 2 of the greatest talents in Southern California. I have known them professionally for over 15 years and I am happy to share that I drove form Orange County to have Tommy cut my hair… and it was sooooooo worth it. The whole staff at the salon is welcoming and warm. The scalp massage given by Bree before my cut was very relaxing. I sat down and told Tommy he could do what he wanted with my cut. As his hands started working my hair took on a new life of softness, elegance and style. I just wish I could visit Atelier Aucoin Salon every month!

Ask for Marissa! I was referred to her by a friend and I’m so glad I took her advice. She quickly understood the style I was looking for and exceeded my expectations! I only go to Marissa to get my hair done and it always looks great!

I’ve been going to Atelier Aucoin for about a year now, and I love it! Marissa has been doing my hair there since I first started going. I’ve tried a ton of different salons and stylists and I am finally really really happy with Marissa! She has always listened to what I want done and then my hair ends up better than I had imagined how it would turn out. Also, she is super fun and always so so nice! I am definitely going to keep coming back to Marissa! And. One more bonus– she just waxed my eyebrows for the first time and they turned out great! I would definitely recommend Marissa!

I have been coming to Atelier for over 10 years. Even though I live in LA now, I still make the drive to get my highlights done by Phuong! She is hands down the best colorist and stylist in San Diego. She has taken me from blonde to brunette and back to blonde, always making sure I look natural and keeping my hair healthy. If you’re new to the area and looking for a new colorist, look no further than Phuong!
Greg is also an amazing colorist and has been doing my sister’s hair for years (great with blondes!)

I’ve been getting my hair done by the same stylist for years but she moved recently and I was in need of a cut badly and went off a referral from a friend to Atelier Aucoin Salon.
Brian had done my friends hair and she loved it and so I trusted her advice and I am glad i did. Brian was quick and involved mein the cut process from everything from how I like my part to how long I wanted the front and layers. I was appreciative of him not just cutting away at will.
My hair the past few days has been so soft and manageable, I barely blow dry it and it just sits so well and frames my face perfect. Its one of the best cuts I have ever got and I can confidently say I have a new stylist to be loyal to! Highly recommend Brian Byrnes and Atelier Aucoin Salon.

I would like to mention I received an e-​mail from Jodi about a month ago. I appreciate her taking the time to contact me. She mentioned she would have comped the haircut and would have liked a chance to fix the mistake.
While I no longer live in the area, I would still recommend Jodi solely because she knows what she is doing in both cut and color. In fact, after I moved out of the area I drove over an hour every 6 weeks for about a year to see her.
The salon’s prices are on the high-​end, but I do believe Jodi is worth it. I do think they should offer wine, though, since most all other higher end salons give their clients that beverage option.

I have been going to this place for about two years now and love love love the haircuts and color done by Natella. She always listens to your suggestions and if you are willing to be daring, she will give you what you want. She has dyed my hair purple, she gave me the Victoria Beckham cut (long A-​line on one side, short on the other), she cuts my fiancée’s shaggy hair so that it beautifully grows out.
My only cons are that sometimes the front desk staff aren’t friendly, or come across as standoffish. Also, it’s pricey: haircuts run about $ 60 and color varies depending on length and how many colors are used, but Natella is a great colorist! I wholeheartedly recommend her.
