Grind House Coffee & Cocktails

We enjoyed our visit last night. We came at 6pm and was somewhat disappointed to see that it closed at 7pm. We hope they will expand the hours a bit through the week. As another reviewer said, we’re very happy to see a non-​bucks coffee house open in our city.
As for the food and such, we ordered grilled cheese and it was pretty good although I might modify it next time. I ordered an Old Fashioned even though they didn’t have any Rye Whiskey although it was good with Makers Mark. The hot-​out-​of-​the-​oven chocolate chip cookies were great.
Cyndale (if I have the spelling correct) was a great server/​bartender, very helpful and cheerful.
Can’t wait to come here during the daytime to experience the coffeehouse part next.

I really like to support independent businesses. Love the laid-​back atmosphere, nice employees, yummy sandwiches at a very reasonable price, coffee is inexpensive and good, hot chai, cold chai– love them all. And now the bar is open. Nice selection of drinks but tapas/​appetizers during evening bar time could use some BAM. Mix it up. Smaller portions of different finger appetizers would go a long way. Overall, always come in when I’m in town (:

When we moved to Kyle in April of this year, I was a little saddened to leave Austin simply because of the variety of coffee houses. I thought to myself, «Man, I’m stuck with Starbucks…» and even considered opening my own coffee shop. But opening my own wouldn’t have been successful because I probably wouldn’t let anyone else in. I’m stingy that way.
But then, fast forward to a few months later when driving through downtown Kyle we saw something awesome from the corner of our eyes… IS IT TRUE? IS THIS REAL LIFE? OMG IS THAT A COFFEE HOUSE!!!
I made my husband stop the car and we proceeded to park and walk in. We were immediately greeted by a really nice lady who told us all about what they offered and answered our questions. I ordered my usual, a vanilla latte, and N ordered his usual, regular ol’ drip coffee. Even my 9-​year-​old ordered a chocolate smoothie. Needless to say, we were greatly satisfied. The coffee is great quality caffeine and the chocolate smoothie really hit the sweet spot for my kid. The ambiance was warm and welcoming. Considering we visited the first couple of weeks they opened, they were still working on a few things so I’m eager to see what they’ve done since then!
Our first visit to Grind House was awesome and we definitely have it in our books to have lunch there soon. Thanks Grind House for answering Kyle’s need for a locally owned coffee house! XO

Was excited to try out last week for lunch. We walked in and bring our first time would have liked to at least be greeted by the staff. Instead, we were left on our own to figure out the menu options which we could only find on the chalkboard and decided after 10 minutes of not even being acknowledged to go somewhere else.

Great customer service and fantastic drink options. Everything priced reasonably and the atmosphere is fantastic. Will definitely be visiting more often.

Ordered a couple of sandwishes, beef club and a grilled cheese with extra bacon.
They tasted fine, but soon discovered no bacon was on the grilled cheese. I went up and told the girl I was missing bacon, but was told «I am 99% sure I put it in there. It’s under the cheese, it might be really small».
Not really wanting to be called a lair again, just accepted that she didn’t have interest in giving is the bacon we paid for.
My sandwich was okay, nothing exiting, nothing to write back home about.
I give three stars for this place. But it seems two have disappeared. I am 99% sure I put them there. Maybe of my missing bacon was ever found, nearby would be those stars.

Grind House is a great place to grab a drink, either coffee related or alcoholic, and chill out. You can meet a friend or get some work done on your laptop thanks to the great wifi and ample wall outlets.
The tea and coffee I chose were both delish. I did not give five stars because their hours have changed and what it says on the internet does not currently reflect what is says on the door. Thus, I drove there on Sunday afternoon only to be disappointed. Silly me I should have checked Unilocal and not google! Also the turkey and cheese sandwich I ordered was only so-​so. I think next time I will try one of their specialty sandwiches which can only be better. For the future I would recommend sourcing more flavorful/​ripe tomatoes and a different brand of turkey.

Hummus sandwich is delish (even though they ran out of mozarrela. I had it with out cheese). Stopped by here on the way to austin. Cute little town.

My post is a little late… Whoops. Met up with my mother here, atmosphere and staff are amazing. Great food and even better people! Take the time to get a Sandwich it’s worth it.

Excellent coffee, nice ambiance. Tables spaced just far enough away from each other so it doesn’t get crowded. Bonus points for two high chairs (though the buckle is damaged on one of them, still usable for now though). If management reads this, I’ll make one recommendation — the peanut butter and jelly sandwich tastes like it is toasted with olive oil, it needs to be toasted with butter or plain cooking oil since it adds an odd taste, but still yummy overall. Look forward to returning.

Great place to meet friends and hang out. Enjoy the coffee, tea and smoothies. I like to meet clients there and discuss business.

We stopped on a lark on our way home from the outlets. The gal behind the bar welcomed us as if it was her own home. The owner came out to get us JUUUUST the right chips for our sandwiches. These folks take care in everything they serve. The construction isn’t quite done, so their opening is soft. We are definitely coming back for the grand opening. These two women created a chic, yet cozy visual that would fit Kyle as well as 6^th Street, Austin!

Stopped in because «diner» came up on A Unilocal search. You walk in and it’s a bar… with some pastries… and if you’re smart enough, you ask about lunch. Then you find out they have some killer sandwiches, make-​your-​own or already on the menu. We went in around 12:30pm and it was empty. Do not be dissuade by the comment. It is either a hidden gem or the lunch rush was over.
Friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices and fun atmosphere. We will definitely patronize again.

Greeted with a big hello & got a great suggestion of trying the Carmel Macchiato. Yum! Very chill ambiance. Great little coffee jewel in the middle of Kyle!

I’m glad to see this place doing well already. I have to come back soon! Maybe for one of their donuts which I heard are delicious!
Nice to know the patio will be open soon.
