My car broke down here and collectively we spent well over 50 bucks here on food, gas, a $ 20 gas canister and more. They don’t even have a tap for your water bottle. After all that, clearly you know we’re stranded here in below 18 degree weather. Now you tell me we can’t eat the food we bought inside, in the only warm place for miles while my second AAA truck comes in for a tow. Excuse my french but sc*** you. Don’t stop here unless you absolutely have to. They are here for making cash off you and nothing else.

Dude really? bathroom natzi much. My girl bought a coffee and other friend wanted to use the bathroom. The little Asian guy working there refused unless she also bought something. Screw u. Zero customer service, and zero times we will go there again.

During the fire this week they closed HWY50, and then reopened it to one way traffic only. Doing this was appropriate given the need to put out the fire, but a significant side effect for those waiting was an unplanned bladder stress test. Now, if you were like us, and returning from a wine tasting day, it could be and incredibly painful and unplanned test. I happened to be with three women, and so one of them was much more stressed than the rest of us, and so the Silver Fork Store and Gas was a great option. They had a restroom and, I was told, there were only two people in front of our most stressed person. So, all I know for sure is that they’ve got a restroom and they sell ice cream, as two people in our group emerged with an ice cream of some sort. This deserves a five star review. You’ve got to love a place with a clean public restroom.

PARENTS, DONOTGOHEREWITHYOURCHILDREN. The store is filled with sexual explicit figurines, right by the bathroom. There are shelves and shelves of it, at children’s eye level. If you really need to make a pit stop, be prepared to block the view. If I could rate less than one star I would.

Gas station in the right place at the right time! More than once, this spot has saved my bacon. The employees aren’t very friendly, but that’s cool since all I’ve ever needed is gas or snacks. They keep it clean and the pumps work fine. What more would I need?

Move on… plenty of better places out there. Overpriced and rude staff that lies to you and says they accept returns for unused chains then does not honor that promise. Our bad for believing the guy who says he was the owner! Or maybe is just because his English was so poor that we couldn’t understand him.

Stopped to use the restroom and buy some water. While looking at the figurines to check prices, I was yelled at by the attendant ‘do not touch’. I preceded to tell him I was looking at the prices since they were on the bottom. He yelled again do not touch. I told him I would now not be buying anything in his store and walked out.

Pretty standard mini-mart, a nice enough fellow working the counter, and the worst coffee in the continental United States of America.

After having had a horrible experience at the other mini-mart in Kyburz, this place was a relief(almost literally.) Anyway, if I’m ever in that area again, I’ll make sure to stop there again.

If you can help it stop elsewhere. I stopped in on my way up the mountain and asked to use the bathroom, however it was«broken.» I politely inquired where they use the bathroom. Perhaps there was an option nearby. The man replied we go outside. I paused a moment and repeated his answer. Then he said it was none of my concern. So I left and held it for the remaining 40 minute drive to my resort.

don’t get anything but gas We drove to tahoe during a mild snow storm, I was almost out of washer fluid so I bought a gallon there. Those crooks sold, in the middle of a snow storm, may I add(!) washer fluid without anti freeze, so next morning the washers were frozen.

Never stop here. Avoid this station at all costs! One star is generous. My 9 year old daughter and I stopped so she could have a restroom break. I saw the«$ 1 or buy something» sign on the door and said I’d get us something and we asked the nasty and rude woman behind the counter for the key. She refused because I hadn’t actually bought anything yet.(note that she didn’t actually speak, just shook her head no) This was even as I was getting beverages out of the cooler. I left them and told them I would never buy anything there again with that kind of attitude. This place used to be cool, run by different people a few years back before it was a 76 station. The gas prices were cheaper and the bathrooms were free. We drove on down to Fresh Pond Chevron and had clean restrooms, friendly staff, and gas about the same price. I recommend you do the same.

This place was a gas station, mini-mart, souvenir shop, outdoor/snow shop, and it is along the way to Sierra.

All I can say is that this is a lifesaver! Running at 5 mph for almost 5 Fing hours in snow and traffic, we were out of our wits! We badly needed a pit stop and this came out like a prayer answered! So almost everybody stuck in the same traffic stopped here. The pumping area got crowded, and the one restroom had a queue. Sign says something like«Restroom for customers only. Purchase something or give a $ 1 donation.» While in line for the bathroom, look out for the kinky wood carvings and have a laugh!

Cheap gas prices compared to Fresh pond and Lake Tahoe. Gas was 3.99 for 87 here while Fresh pond was 4.29 and Lake Tahoe was 4.37 Yes this is a hole in the wall as far as gas stations go. I imagine they charge for the restroom since it probably is not connected to the sewer do to its remote location, it probably has a septic tank!

Hey, the bathroom was functional, and the $ 1 fee is a suggested donation. Considering the crowd that rampages through here on holiday weekends, I’d say it’s fair. Decent prices compared to the usual mountain outposts, and the non-branded gas didn’t upset my car’s engine(32MPG on that tank). I didn’t even consider trying the coffee, though.

There are a lot of interesting little towns on 50 up the way to Tahoe. I don’t usually go this way but when 80 gets closed down due to blizzard conditions, you do what you gotta do to get to that powder. A pit stop and a drink/snack are all you need here but if worst cases, you can pick up chains, gloves, and other«Stuck in the woods» supplies.

Stop only if you need gas or a pit stop. They charge $ 1.00 to go to the bathroom though!!! Free WC if you buy something or get gas. Total nightmare restroom. If you are low on gas after leaving Placerville, then stop here if you missed a relaxing and refreshing refueling reststop at Freshpond(see: ). If you are on your way to play in the Sno-Parks to do some sledding, you can get your passes here. More info at:
