Kyburz is a super small town en route to Sierra at Tahoe. There’s even a sign that says, «WELCOME TO KYBURZ NOW LEAVING KYBURZ» Hahahhaa. i LOVE that sign!
This place is super close to Sierra at Tahoe. They even have discounted lift tickets available for purchase.
We made a last minute reservation for the following night. The lady asked what our arrival time would be, and we figured after a full day of snowboarding, we would go to state line to eat dinner, then back to Kyburz by 7. (It is a little inconvenient that there aren’t any places to eat on this span of US 50)
We arrived at 7:45ish. The room was super clean and the lady even heated the room beforehand. What a nice warm (Double entendre) welcome!
Cable TV, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, coffee, tea, and hot cocoa, CLEAN towels, nice water pressure, shampoo, soap, shower cap, Ice machine outside… they even have a picnic bench and bbq pit and a few fire pits around the lawn area right by the river.
This place just exceeded our expectations. Although, to be honest, our expectations were low due to a previous stay we had at the Strawberry Lodge (15 minutes away). But we would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for MLK weekend. A two-​bed room @ $ 85/​night wasn’t bad, especially for a holiday weekend.
The place is essentially a motel but it was clean and accommodating. Included in the room was a microwave, coffee maker, TV with cable, mini fridge, and a super hot shower – basic necessities. Check-​in and check-​out was quick with the managers that live on the premises. The only complaint I had was that our wall heater made some strange noises during the night, but that was temporary. It was cozy, quiet, and I felt safe leaving my car in the well-​lit parking lot. Oh, and full 4G LTE in that area, too.
Would I return? Yes I would.
