Alana Nouri is the real deal. I have been to massage therapists all over North America and Asia and she is probably the best one I’ve ever seen. Here’s a story to illustrate my point: In July of 2014 I started developing a problem in my legs. I got a pain in my knee and it caused me to start limping. The limping and pain continued for months even after seeing a variety of healers, both traditional and modern. I saw high end Qi Gong masters, physical therapists, accupuncturists, Tui Na massage therapists and no one was ever able to alleviate my leg and knee issues. I had pretty much resigned myself to have a limp for the rest of my life. In November of 2014 I developed a pinch in my neck. At the time the massage therapists I was seeing on Moloka’i wasn’t available so I did a Google search and found Alana’s website. She was able to see me right away so I booked an appointment. Alana’s style was super deep tissue. I’ve had some majorly intense massages before, but she was even better. I should mentioned that I like very deep tissue massage, and while she is able to accommodate those who can’t take the intensity, for me she went«all in», and boy did I feel it! I have had therapists in their 20’s who can’t get as deep as Alana can. Even though I was seeing her for my neck, she also worked on the rest of my body, including my legs, hips, etc. I could tell is was helping, but it wasn’t until 3 or 4 days after the session that I was amazed with the results. I could walk without limping for the first time in 6 months! It was absolutely amazing and I knew I had finally found a therapist that I would stick with. If you are visiting Moloka’i and need someone who can really fix whatever is ailing you, then Alana is your answer. She isn’t for the feint of heart, and if you’re just looking for someone to lightly rub oil around your back, then this isn’t that sort of massage. But if you want someone who can get in there and really take care of what needs to be done, then this is the person you need to see.
