Conveniently located, great flavor options. Super refreshing. Seems well known people, like Rachael Ray, agree!

I’d like to start off this review with the staff. My visit here approached a man and a woman. They were friendly unlike the 2 unfriendly women people were talking about. Apparently Uncle’s rehired? Texture comes next. The shaved ice looks like any normal shave ice. Taste comes next. The flavoring/shaved ice tastes awesome! Of course not as good as Matsumoto’s. I put this shaved ice place as 3rd or 4th on my list.

Uncle’s is a great spot to stop for a refreshing treat on a hot day. We tried the shaved ice and snow, but hands down the snow was the best. Try the birthday cake flavor — so creamy and delicious.

Good shaved ice. Small stand in the shopping mall. Lots of flavored and reasonable prices.

Solid shave ice place. We got the shave snow which has assume your if cream or milk in the shave ice. It was very sweet, but the texture I could not quite get used to. The highlight was the honey toast. It was not on the main menu, just in a little sign on the counter. It was surprisingly good and huge. Fed two little kids and two adults with the small. Basically it is a large piece of toasted sweet bread with honey drizzled all over it and topped with ice cream and whipped cream.

This place was okay… we ordered a shaved snow and a shaved ice. This was my first time trying shaved snow, and I was not a big fan. The texture was a bit strange and left a lingering feel in my mouth after each bite that I can’t exactly put my finger on. The shave ice was average, I got half guava/half passion fruit. The ice was too sweet and I was left with a soupy bowl of syrup before I finished the top half of my shave ice. Convenient location right in the shopping center but prefer other shave ice stores to this one.

Simple and excellent flavors. Good price and the ice is very smooth and the flavors last without a lot of sugar. Highly recommended. Do not come right after school lets out ;-)

We discovered this gem this morning and have already been twice in one day! Loved the shave ice and honey toast. We enjoyed every flavor syrup we got and loved the macnut ice cream. The honey toast was delicious and huge(the small fed my family of 4 with extras at the end). Plan to come back everyday of our trip!

Pretty good shave ice. The ice was shredded super thin and the added macnut ice cream which was good but the whole thing was a tad sweet for me. Still delicious and would try if in the area.

I thought Uncle’s Shave Ice was overrated, and it was my second to least favorite ice shoppe I experienced on any Hawaiian Island I’ve been to thus far. The options are cool, but since people in general have trouble deciphering the complicated menu, it causes a huge back-up in the line. I also thought the servers working there were ungracious and entirely lackluster to the experience. I would not go back.

Pretty solid shave ice. We got it with the Mac nut ice cream in the bottom and I didn’t like that. Nuts in shave ice don’t mix in my opinion. The syrups were good. We got mango, passion fruit and pineapple. They have a nice place outside to enjoy the product. One shave ice was plenty to share between two people.

This place is okay/decent, but not nearly as good as Wailua Shave Ice, but cheaper. I wish they would have more chocolatey flavors instead of all fruity ones. Conveniently located in a shopping center.

I love you. I love you. I love you. Don’t understand why a lot of people say it’s overly sweet here. I found it less sweet than most places I’ve tried on the island. I’d say it’s the 2nd least sweet one we had. Many flavors to choose from and you have to make the(easy) decision between ice or snow. My favorite has to be the li hing mui shaved snow with a cream cap and li hing mui powder. I’ve had this three times within a week or so because it’s that good. The piña colada shaved snow is good too. I had the li hing mui shaved ice and its just not the same as the shaved snow one. Maybe it’s all in my head but I think the ice melts faster than the snow. The price is really reasonable for the amount you get. My advice is to always add a snow cap because why the hell not!

We were told we had to come here and try the honey toast so we did. It’s different but it was pretty good. I would recommend that everyone should try it at least once. The small was enough for two.

It’s not the best shaved ice that i have had in Hawaii, but it’s the best I’ve had on Kauai. It’s tucked away in an not so busy strip mall in Koloa. I had the island nectar. Flavor was excellent and the Mac nut ice cream was the cherry on my sundae. For some reason, it’s easier to find good shaved ice on Maui. Not sure why.

We came here 3 times on our trip. probably because of a combination of the good shave ice and prime location from our resort. Lots of flavors to choose from and the honey toast is amazing! We tried green tea with coconut cream cap(my fave), creamsicle, honeydew and cherry, and strawberry banana. The interior is pretty small so if there’s people in line it can get pretty hot, noisy, and crowded in there. No inside seating but plenty of outdoor tables and chairs. The only thing I would probably recommend is that the staff would quit rushing their customers. I understand it gets busy and you want things to move quickly but some of the staff here are not that understanding.

Candied apples with macadamia nuts. Large selection of shave SNOW and ice with island toppings. One flavor snow 4.75. Two flavors snow 6.75. Shave ice a bit cheaper. The snow is WAY better, almost like ice cream.

Worst flavors for shave ice I’ve had on the island. They aren’t very flavorful. I couldn’t even finish mine it tasted so bad. Also the texture of the ice wasn’t as good as some of the other places we tried on the island. Skip this location and find somewhere better.

We tried Matsumoto’s in Oahu and did not like the flavor so we were nervous trying shaved ice again. Totally redeemed! We had half pineapple, half cherry and it was a pleasant way to cool down this warm afternoon. Super soft shaved ice. YUM.

The best shave ice on Kauai! Ice was super soft & flavors were incredible! (They offer sugar free flavors for those who need to limit sugars!) Uncle’s Hawaiian Toast was different. a little too sweet for our party, but we are glad we tried it! Get a punch card, it isn’t hard to fill up during your trip!
