The garlic shrimp plate and savage shrimp plate were so good that our group of friends came back an additional 3 times over the course of a week while we were in Kauai. I’ll have to agree that the prices were a bit steep in comparison to other locations serving shrimp but ultimately Savage Shrimp was the best. Pro Tip: If you order the savage shrimp plate, sub out the bread with rice and just pour that delicious sauce all over the rice. You won’t regret it.

Only one person in our party of four liked this place. Short on shrimp, long on oil/butter/grease. And it smells up the surrounding area which I don’t appreciate. Won’t head back any time soon.

Great shrimp salad with huge portions. Highly recommend if you want a healthier option.

It is a hole in the wall place with my tacos cook to order. 5 – 7 min wait wasn’t bad. Garlic shrimp taco was ok. They are pretty big with salsa and a wedge of lemon. Lemon? I didn’t taste the shrimp, nor the garlic. The cabage was fresh. People raved about it must had been very hungry. 4* Done it and looking for something else.

Savage Shrimp, I just wanted to say that you were the best thing I had in Kauai. The meal was a bit pricey but soooooo worth it. The shrimp were pretty big and I loved everything about the sauce! If I ever come back to Kauai. I would eat this everyday.

Expensive and forgetful. The shrimp comes unpeeled which made my fingers smell garlicy all afternoon. Two scoops of plain rice with some sprinkling of stuff and a «tropical coleslaw»(aka regular coleslaw with a tropical sauce). The food took forever to arrive. We split up and were meeting up after we got both our foods… Too bad I was already eating mine from another establishment for a good 10 minutes before her food was ready. Total wait time for one plate was well over 20 minutes. It was not worth what we paid. I told my gf to eat the shrimp and chuck the rest because all we paid for was the overpriced shrimp. All the garlic shrimp was was literally shrimp cooked in garlic. Nothing interesting, fancy or special. Also, not all the shrimp were deveined(they stated they deveined everything). Glad I got food elsewhere to make up for this unsatisfying meal. Worst meal of the trip so far.

We stopped in early right when it opened because we wanted to taste the authentic food on the island. My girlfriend and i heard great reviews of the place and we had to try it. The price didn’t impress me because it was kinda on the pricey side we ordered the coconut shrimp and the firerock and it was about 35+$. Not only that but one of my shrimp was raw. It was good but i wasn’t crazy over it. The fire rock shrimp tasted like some diablo shrimp we have back at the house. I had to neutralize the taste with rice that was served with it

I was a little skeptical about coming here since it’s in the middle of a fancy shopping center targeting tourists. And yes, there were a lot of tourists here, but the food was also very delicious. I believe their hours show that they are open until 9PM, but don’t count on it because the real closing time is when they sell out of shrimp. We arrived at 7:15PM, and they were sold out by 7:30PM.(Lucky us!) I personally ordered the Aloha Scampi and it was DELICIOUS! What’s not to like about coconut milk, chili sauce, lemon grass, and lime on your shrimp? In addition, as an added bonus, it comes with the shrimp already peeled as part of the price, instead of $ 2 extra like for the garlic shrimp.(Lucky me again!) My husband ordered the garlic shrimp, and even though the menu represents it as «the favorite», I liked the aloha scampi more.(Though both were good.) As for the shrimp, it was fresh, as it should be on an island, so they get my endorsement there. The only downside was the price. $ 13.50(plus tax) seems a bit steep for 10 pieces of shrimp, especially since Savage Shrimp is not a sit-down restaurant(just counter service).

I usually reserve 1 star for places where there are roaches or something so despicable… but I was downright piss when I got done eating this meal! We arrived 45 min before closing. Took forever for anyone to help us. When it was time to order, we were told that they were out of rice. How do you run out of rice? Especially since the menu description specifically states 10 shrimps and 2 scoops of rice per plate. Which tells me that everything should have been measured/proportioned correctly and ready to go for the day and there should be no shortage. After some confusion between the lady taking our order and the cook in the back shouting back and forth whether or not they had rice, they finally told us they do. So I ordered a plate of their Garlic Scampi. We waited literally for over 30 minutes before our food was brought out… with just ONE scoop of rice. At this point, I was just like whatever and wanted to eat. One bite and total disappointment. Shrimp lacked flavor. The brown stuff they sprinkled on the rice, oily and bland. Just thinking back on that meal right now is pissing me off! And the décor of the restaurant, tacky. It looks like you stepped into the ghetto where people tagged up the wall with sharpies. It’s not even cool or visually pleasing. It’s a visual nuisance. If you’re in North Shore in Oahu, stop by either Giovanni’s or Macky’s. That’s what REAL shrimp should taste like. This is not worth the hype. Not worth the wait. Save your money.

We came here for lunch last week while we were visiting the island. Food: garlic shrimps with rice. Very good and fresh. I think they give you more shrimps than Shrimp station. Service: very friendly lady took our order and we did not wait long for the food. Parking: easy to find parking in the shopping center.
