Since I stayed at the Sheraton for an extended weekend, this became the go-to place for sunset drinks. The first night there was s bit of sticker shock at the $ 10.50 Mai Tais and up to $ 12.50 Mojitos. I soon realized that this was about on par for the island and the view is stunning. Form 5−6pm on most of the nights we were here, resort guests received free Mai Tais. This became a daily ritual and these plus the $ 5 daily specials is mostly what I stuck to. The only food I tried was the Kahlua pork nachos and they were excellent. I would say, however to think of this place more for drinks and less for food. The staff was attentive and friendly. Even the free drinks were passed around quickly. If you are staying at the Sheraton add at least one full star.

The setting is amazing, but the food doesn’t come anywhere near living up to the prices. I can’t speak for everything, but don’t get the ahi salad. It was bland and over-priced.

While I would like to give the Point 3 or 3.5, I can’t. Here’s why: –slow/sloppy service –overpriced on 95% of the menu I didn’t have anything truly atrocious here but on our 1st visit, I asked for a glass of MacMurray Pinot and was given something else, the Fat Bastard Pinot, I think. Also, we never had attentive service– they always seemed so disorganized that we were often left waiting to order, have the table cleared, get our check, etc. The view is nice and it’s got a good breeze, typically. But there are better places, just as close by, with better food and service.

My wife and I decided to walk to the Point for a quick casual, inexpensive dinner. The only plus to this place is that the«fruity» drinks are a bit less expensive then the surrounding hotels. The food was awful. I ordered Huli Huli chicken with veggies and fries and I would have been better off at KFC… it was not even Huli Huli Chicken. My wife ordered a personal pizza and Chucky Cheese would have done a better job. We ordered items that we did not think anyone cold mess up and we were very wrong. Everything is quite expensive for what you get. Cheeseburger for about $ 14 that we watched get pulled out of a freezer and thrown on a grill. Get away from the hotel and go find food elsewhere. Eating for cheap is difficult in this area but there are better options out here. You are on Hawaii waitress time when you are there… our two items took about 35 minutes to receive without it being crowded.

Great spot for a late night drink and snack. They often have live music(which can be a bit too loud at times). Nothing too outstanding here, the mango cobbler that we had was tasty but forgettable. And we were sticking to wine and coffee that night, so we can’t really comment on the bar’s ability to mix up that great drink. On the plus the view is great, the servers are nice, and several of the tables of umbrellas to keep you out of the sun while you relax and enjoy the views and sounds at the Point.

Drinks: 4 Food: 1 The Point is the hotels, go-to food place serving not only the pool but a bar area. The drinks are good, but with most places, they are simply mix and jiggers of alcohol. Its not too tricky to make a good mai tai but we found ourselves addicted to the black cherry mohito! The food on the other hand, was just aweful, a real Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmare in the making. For a state that basically depends on seafood, nothing that came out of that place was cooked well, from the fish taco’s to the chicken nuggets. I ordered something called the ‘tin foil’ something, which advertised fish and shrimp and scallops, truely a bounty of the local ocean, and what I got was different… The shimp, were those little tiny ones you find in a salad that were frozen in a bag. The fish was WAY overcooked and then there was this orange weird sauce on top that I really couldn’t identify… On top of this, it was pretty expensive… Three days into our vacation, we abandoned this place as a source of food and began eating at the local mini-malls.

We ate dinner here during happy hour so we got a couple(strong) Mai Tais. My husband got fajitas and I got Ahi for dinner. The food was ok, but nothing special really. The bartender was very nice and fun. There was a ballroom dancing group that showed up later and we danced with them a bit. The scenery is nice and the Shereton was close to our hotel so we enjoyed our experience.

We had a $ 75 credit from the hotel, so we decided to use it at the restaurant for dinner one night. There really isn’t anything to eat in the area aside from the typical overpriced ritzy generic restaurants in Poipu and Koloa. This place, however, was quite different. It’s not a mom and pop restaurant, but it definitely isn’t a generic hotel restaurant. It seems like their menu changes quite often. We were there in January, but the menu is pretty different on the website now. We ordered the mussels, kalua pork quesedillas, ahi sandwich, and kalua chicken. Each dish had something unique about it, such as the sauce in the mussels and the quesedillas. The prices are a bit too high, but what do you expect from a Sheraton? It was overall a great experience!

The bar tenders and servers were very nice. The bartender hooked my honey up with a free mai tai on her b-day. Also we tried kalua pork nachos which kinda reminded us of carne asada chips from back home in san diego. Also they throw a lil party here on friday with a dj which was pretty cool although we were the only ones dancing and left because nobody was there, can’t blame the actual bar for this.

Limited menu, but great view and good service… tofu & ahi salad was good… pork nachos are plentiful… pizza was doughy/small. Overall 4 stars for great view, service and food. oh and open late! Minus one star for limited menu and bad doughy pizza. :)

Granted, we tried only two of the Kauai Sheraton’s various restaurants, and granted, we ate here only once, but we were pleased nevertheless. You can’t be the location — facing the ocean, next to Poipu Beach, overlooking a rocky… point. We enjoyed our food while sitting outside under an umbrella. I quite liked my grilled ahi poke burger, although I didn’t get what put the«poke» in its name — it struck me as a straightforward fish burger. Tasty and filling nevertheless. J. also liked her hulihuli salmon sandwich. We noticed that a number of people ordered the local-style seafood tinfoil, which seems to be something of a Kauai and/or South Shore specialty(we also found this item on the menu at Sushi Bushido), so maybe that’s good as well. My cocktail was good, although it wasn’t as alcoholic as the ones I got from the poolside bar. Alas! Several times a week, there are mai-tai hours for hotel guests, accompanied by hula performances and music right next to the restaurant. Small, somewhat watered-down drinks, but you can chug as many as you want, two at a time, and sitting outside by the ocean and watching the entertainment and your fellow guests can be quite pleasant.
