Amazing food, good price! I had the Kalua pork tacos and ordered two but I wish I had gotten 3! Best food I’ve had the entire time I’ve been here. Definitely a necessary stop to make.

I’m sorry to see that the last 3 times I have gone there has been a different cook, not the owner. The burgers I so loved, one was undercooked, and one was as dry as cardboard. I will only go back if the owner is cooking, I guess I’ll have to call first and ask who the cook is for the day before I order.

Had the Cowboy Up burger, unreal. We got lucky and were there when they had Pastele Deoja a labor intensive stew with pork & banana dumplings. Truly incredible!

I’ve been coming to Kauai for the last 15 years and eaten just about everywhere noteworthy, both fine dining and local joints. Kauai food truck is arguably the best meal I’ve had on island. Period. The taco trio is a must

Round 1: burnt fish tacos and burnt fish sandwich. No bueno across the board. Round 2: decent fish tacos and not so decent fish sandwich. Credit, they remade the sandwich and tacos, but I’ve had much better options across the island. Maybe stick to what’s more popular here and you’ll have a better experience.

People will give 5 stars for a funky gas station hotdog, standards have sunk that low. Maybe they’re so easily wowed because they don’t know how to cook, and just chow down on nuked frozen crud. The food here tasted ok. We had fish tacos, a fish sandwich and a shrimp and fish plate. But the portions are tiny, the preparations are ordinary, and the stuff is expensive. Really expensive for what you get. There’s way better food across the street.

Fish tacos and a Hawaiian lunch plate are one of the best ways to eat local. I’ve had fish tacos all over Maui the past few weeks, and this is the first one here on Kauai… I’ve hit«pay dirt». These were the best. Two average size corn tostadas, lots of crispy cabbage, the best not too sweet spicy sauce, a splattering of tomatoes and the best pan seared Ahi so far. A must have again. The Hawaiian plate today(the protein changes daily) was Kalua Pork. About a cup and a half of tender shredded pork shoulder in the Kalua Pork style, plenty of rice(wish I had asked if they offered brown rice), and a small green salad. Sitting under the trees with the breeze blowing, this is the way to enjoy Kauai.

We tried to go to Pizzetta to no avail(they weren’t taking any more walk-ins), and found this spot on Unilocal. It’s a pretty dark walk from the road back to the food truck at night, but well-worth it for the super friendly service and tasty, reasonably-priced noms. Three in our group got the garlic shrimp, which came atop rice and was served with a green salad with delicious dressing. Someone else had the burger, which he was very satisfied with. It’s super casual – take your order to go, or eat at one of the picnic tables next to the truck. We loved it!

By far my favorite meal on the island so far The garlic shrimp plate was delicious! The shrimp were large and super clean tasting, and the garlic caper butter sauce would kill a vampire bit was just the way I like it! Rice was perfectly cooked, corn was sweet and the little bit of salad was a nice crunchy offset to the rich shrimp. The hubs really enjoyed the taco trio as well, didn’t taste it so I can’t give any details — but he seemed quite pleased.

We’ve had such great food all over this island… But the Kauai Food Truck was exceptional, wow! So much flavor… Super great clean fresh ingredients! Can’t wait for our next visit. The aloha burger was flavor packed! The taco trio was absolutely delicious… We even tried the breakfast tacos and they were awesome! Satisfied!!!

My wife ordered the pork plate and I ordered the garlic shrimp… great food! We’re vacationing from the bay area and didn’t realize all the great eats here in Kauai! You’ll probably have to wait for your order but it’s worth it!!! You’ll notice a bunch of locals lining up so that alone should clue you in on what your about to experience!!!

Have you ever been on a diet? You know that moment when you’re around food so enticing but you must. not. taste it because it’s not on your diet’s agenda? You find everything in you to restrain from eating something but your heart wins out in the end and you taste it. Sometimes the bite is worth it and sometimes it’s not. That happened to me here with their fish sandwich. I initially didn’t order anything from here because of being on said diet I was going to settle for a fruity alternative from the food truck next to this one. But one bite to taste out of a fish sandwich that wasn’t even mine and I was hooked. I got my own fish sandwich after that bite because I needed not one bite but the whole thing. And let me tell you, that fish sandwich was worth ditching my diet for. I thought maybe it’s the fresh caught fish that made their fish sandwich so good and maybe all the fish sandwiches on the island are this good. So after that one fish sandwich from the Kauai Food Truck I found myself ordering fish sandwiches at different places and being disappointed that in fact it wasn’t the fresh fish. It was just that the food truck made good fish sandwiches. The sad part about eateries in Kauai is that even with good food the business still might fall out. I eat at a place one summer and the next summer they’re gone or replaced by something different. Please don’t go away Kauai Food Truck. Wait for me next summer. I’ll come back for your fish sandwich, promise.

How amazing is this place?! Who knew a truck in the middle of a field would turn out the best burger I had in a week on Kauai? I had the teri burger and demolished it. Unbelievable. My husband ordered the special, which was a trio of tacos: fish, shrimp, and pork. He demolished those, too. We had a longer wait than we were expecting, but the food!!! Totally worth it. If you’re coming from a good distance, you’ll want to call to make sure they’re open. We stopped by one day because Unilocal said they were open, but they were definitely closed(and it was only around noon, so too early to have sold out). You should also know that seating is limited to a couple of picnic tables, and the chickens are WAY willing to help you with your meal.

I believe that this trucks had the best tacos on the island. It is in a field across from the Sueoki’s Market with a juice truck. Not alot of sitting area, maybe 4 picnic benches. It wasn’t a problem for us as it was a slow time, but I could see it being an issue, if it is crowded and no one is taking their food to go. We all tried different things; I had the steak tacos; that comes with a side of corn and salad topped with salsa. We also tried the butterfish, the braddah burger, the fresh island fish tacos and the grilled shrimp tacos. All were delicious! Everyone was happy with their food and it required us all sampling each others. I don’t eat fish, but sampling the butterfish had me taking more than one bite. Having salsa on a salad was different, but it wasn’t really spicy; a good balance. There was also a cole slaw with some sort of dressing. Not sure what it was, but I ate it all. Quick service as well. For the group of 7 at 12:30 it only took about 10 minutes.

Garlic shrimp was what I was looking for and garlic shrimp is what I got. I skimmed the rest of the menu just out of curiosity, I was dead set on the shrimp, but everything else didn’t really attract me anyway. And a free soda thanks to my check in! My food was so good, it was just what I was looking for to satisfy my craving. It was a good serving size too. My husband got some meat and gravy. It was okay. It tasted like what it looked like, nothing special. And it wasn’t that warm. He wasn’t impressed by any means. The seats and tables are kind of dirty though, like a park bench.
