Good sushi, Okay service. The location is outstanding with fabulous ocean views. The menu is a bit pricy but worth it for the quality sushi you receive. I went with a non-sushi eater and they were accommodating by providing a menu from their other restaurant and brining it to him. Overall great, but not impressed with the wait staff. Our waiter was a bit remiss in his attention to our table.

The sushi was very good. Barely saw our waiter and no one offered to refill our drinks or give us the chance to ask, even though two unknown staff persons hurriedly asked how our meal was. Just odd, will give another chance.

Do not dine here unless you enjoy extremely overpriced, mediocre fishy sushi, with terrible incompetent service that’s nearly nonexistent. It felt like we were on an episode of «Kitchen Nightmares» except Gordon Ramsey wasn’t there to fix everything. On a scale of 1 – 10, this experience was a negative 10. After we were seated, I watched 4 waiters walk around in a less than half empty restaurant with none of them ever acknowledging our existence. After 10 – 15 minutes of being ignored I had to flag down a waiter asking that we wanted to order food. After placing our order, the waiter notified us that our food was going to «take awhile because the sushi bar is backed up». WTF?! isn’t this a restaurant? Apparently this restaurant doesn’t understand the concept of expediting food — they wait to make every single thing you order all at once, which creates an extremely inefficient queue where all tables must wait for the orders before them to finish before receiving an ounce of rice. While we waited nearly 20 minutes for a bite of food to arrive, there wasn’t a single waiter checking in on us. When the waiter finally remembered we had been sitting there for awhile, he checked in with us again saying that our order was 3rd on the list and still going to take awhile. He then proceeded to suggest to us that we could order some«hot food» from one of the other restaurants downstairs. WTF#2 !? Yea, we came to this sushi restaurant to order Italian food from the restaurant downstairs… smh! When the food finally arrived, it was extremely underwhelming for the price tag. The fish was not fresh, how is that even possible in Kauai? The sushi rice was flavorless as well. Grocery store sushi is better than what Stevenson’s is selling. If you’re a serious sushi eater, you’ll want to stay as far away from this place as possible. When we were finished with our meal, it took us another 15 minutes to flag down a clueless person to let them know we were done eating and looking for our check. Once our check was delivered, the drink waitress dropped off 2 freshly poured ice waters. WTF#3 !? Where were those waters at the BEGINNING of our meal? Backwards, inattentive, downright clueless service. To add insult to injury, the total bill was over $ 100+. I’ve never received such terrible food and service at that price. Someone needs to help manage this restaurant asap, in the meantime, do not waste your money here. Get the $ 18 burger at Seaview Terrace instead, at least it tastes decent and the service there is on point.

Tried again this trip for a classic cocktail fix. My wife asked for a negroni, the bartender said«I think I’ve heard of that drink». My marginal Plymouth martini was $ 20. So very sad…

Went out for an early birthday celebration and this place was great! It was my first time & the atmosphere is just amazing! It’s got an amazing view and I love the concept. We sat at a table and ordered a little of everything. The Edamame & butterfish for appetizers were good fillers. The sushi(the tempura, Stevenson’s and the rock n roll) were delicious! We could barely eat them all! I did save some room for dessert and ordered the Tiramisushi. After dinner, we sat on the couches by the«library» and just drank and hung out the rest of the night. I absolutely loved it! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone! It is a little pricy, but you can get a drink and a roll for under $ 30!

They were busy. It was late evening. They were short on staff. All of the above made a perfect storm… for poor service. We sat at a table in the bar area for more than 5 min w/no server in sight. Then we moved to the outdoor patio and took over a recently-vacated table and tried to flag down a waiter. We eventually got the attention of a table bus person. A waiter arrived a few minutes later and took our drink order. 10 min later the drinks arrived and we ordered some miso soup and sushi. More than 20 minutes later the soup arrived. Another 10 minutes and the sushi arrived. The staff was polite and friendly, but the service delay was unacceptable. We’re staying at the hotel, so we’ll probably visit again. If the service is better, I’ll update the review.

Best Sushi we’ve had on Kauai in awhile. Everything is made to order; fresh and tasty. Chef Jay’s rice had just the right amount of flavoring, compared to bland rice we’ve had at other places we’ve previously patronized. Sat at the counter and got to watch him and his staff prepare it all. Great portions for the price and even had to doggy bag some. My fiancé had the Mochi ice cream which consisted of four different flavors, while my son had the Chocolate Cake Tiramisu. I managed to sample both of their desserts and all I can say is YUMMY!

We stopped here for pre-dinner drinks and appetizers before dinner at Tidepools and had fantastic experience. The waitress was very pleasant and attentive. We sat on the balcony overlooking the grounds and the ocean. We tried couple of their special martini drinks that were very good and their sushi was top notch quality. Would definitely come back.

Great view, great service. Be sure to get here right at 6pm when they open(actually 5:45) as the tables outside with views fill up FAST. We got a lot of angry looks from people who came at 6 and had to sit inside. Cocktails are $ 14 which are steep but normal for this place. We did not stay at the hotel, but came to visit. Has a great selection of high end wines and whiskey’s, but its $$$$. We did not try the sushi but the reviews look like it is great.
